I've fished this area my whole life i don't see a lot of caddis. They're there, but I see stone fly larvae more or maybe i just don't look hard enough lol
This video made me realize one effect of catch and release. It makes the fish harder to catch for the next people that are actually fishing to eat the fish.
You aren't allowed to use bait to catch trout in this part of California or you'll risk being cited and losing your license. You have to use artificial lures and barbless hooks.
I do not think that is accurate. I just double check California DFG website and did not see any special regulations. What DFG section says there are gear restrictions for dinkey creek? This area is even stocked with fish and has hundreds of people fishing here with bait and standard gear? They even sell bait at the camp store. If you know the section that states this is incorrect I’d genuinely like to know so I can look it up and make sure I’m following the law.
Is this the Dinkey Creek at the North Fork Kings River?
Hey I believe it is. It’s right next to shaver lake for better reference
@@joeypowerscaliforniaoutdoo7768 Thanks.

Ya man every time they get caught and released they get a bit smarter
@@joeypowerscaliforniaoutdoo7768 Nope! they can't remember much beyond 10 minutes or so

I don't think that is right, the only area I know of that is king's river once it reaches the 180 hwy
Joey is right, I was there yesterday and asked the Dinkey store owner.
I think manzanita has those rules but Not dinkey
The only location that’s artificial lures and barbless hooks is the Kings River near Avacado Lake area.
