Florida A&M University Marching Band (FAMU) performing at the 130th Annual Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade on Tuesday, January 1, 2019.
I am so proud of F.A.M.U. this band has been all across the world, and I'm so honored that they were finally invited to the Rose Bowl. I was born and raised around this school. I am a true rattler🐍
I'm a devoted UAPB fan, however, I'm so proud of any and all HBCU bands...FAMU is the chosen one and you were marching with pride and respect..blessings

FAMU is the cleanest I've ever seen it, out of the southern colleges that showed up, I have to say that they showed up looking like they wanted to be recognized! Props to the Director & Students for maintaining a none lazy standard!

As an HBCU graduate and BCU alumnus, much respect to Mr. Gerald Freeney, First Black President of Rose Parade, Alabama State and FAMU for representing all HBCU’s. Side note: Shout out to my former student FAMU DM Marquell Bowen, Carol City High School, Miami, FL. Cccccchhhhhiiieeeeeffffffpppppprrrriiiiiddddddeeee.

FAMU always gives a show... but why did they have only 7 lines going across and so much space between the lines. Bands are suppose to be tight. It gives a better sound. Is spread the new look for FAMU?
I don't know what the band director was thinking. SU had 300 strong with 10-12 lines across the the next year. I guest I'm so use to SU look.

I am so proud of my "100". Although I am a Morehouse Man, four generations of my family including my mother (FAMC, 1949 graduate) are RATTLERS. My family is soon to celebrate a fifth generation entering the great FAMU. I grew up with the great tradition of this incredible band. I am over 50 years old (Morehouse grad), and I still say "us" when referring to FAMU...lol We did a great job!...lol

Southern University plays in the Rose Bowl parade in 2020.

They did yesterday. It’s on YoTube now. Kind of boring. Both bands played like they were tired.

Some guy commented that FAMU look bigger than Ohio State.🤭
I had to tell him not with 7 lines across. Ohio State have at least about 12 lines across and tight like SU JUKEBOX. which is the BEST BAND🏆💯
The people were cheering SU like we scored a touch down on every street.
We gave them a good show.

I don't think. After FAMU band was put on probation, their band never became that big band again.
