    I have the same WiFi setup. It works great. One thing I did was put some velcro on the back of the AP and on the top rear of both the left and right speakers. I slap the AP on the back of the most convent speaker with the antenna sticking above the top of the speaker, then I raise the stand. No need to carry/setup a separate stand for the WiFi and It gets the AP above the people. I also painted the AP black so it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb. Easy setup and rock solid WiFi.

    Great video. What was the thinking behind lifting the PA so high? I would honestly not risk going that high wind and depending on weight of you mid/high boxes will make it super unstable. All you need is for the horns to fly over the audience heads then you will get good coverage. Keep that awesome content coming. I love it.

    8:28 Pro tip: get some 12" velcro cable straps for your Siamese Twin cables; then use them just below where the speaker mounts to the stand to secure the cable to the stand tube. Then the cable will run straight down the back of the tube and won't be noticed by the audience! Additionally, if you give a little slack between the velcro and speaker, it takes the weight of the cable off the connectors.

      Most of the people were in the back of the parking lot near the food trucks and bar. Go figure! So i used the extra height of the speakers stands to get the throw distance I needed while also respecting the client's budget. Thanks for watching!

    I couldn't help laughing my lungs out when you spoke about cutting down music cause it is time up. I recall how i did that a couple of years ago on a wedding hosted by Church which I work for, and those getting married were both musicians. It was now 10pm and they were now singing their lungs out like it is church already. Mind you, I still had to tear down the whole system, take it back to our Church and set it up before I can call it a day. Yes, I had a couple of our volunteers with me but still !!! I just went on and killed the subs🤣🤣🤣🤣

    Nice setup! What's in the smaller Silver Creek Audio stacking cases? didn't see those unloaded. Wondering if down the road you can upgrade to 1 bigger case (even if it tilts up in the van) to make things easier. Since you're moving your own, Audiopile makes great stuff that works...
    Hard to tell, but how high are you getting the speakers? Great as so many are too low and blast people with the HF horns...

    • @SilverCreekAudio
      @SilverCreekAudio  5 місяців тому

      Audiopile is awesome! Our current cases are from Kangaroo Cases, a local manufacturer in Dallas, TX. We have one for XLR cables and the other is for power. Never thought of getting a bigger one and tilting it up and then ratcheting it down. That's a really great idea! As for the speaker stands, I like to get them as high as I can! I agree, too low and it is uncomfortable and overbearing. Thanks for the suggestions and watching!

  • @sinsin7in

    Cool setup.., clean. May I know why the main pa speaker are set up so high?

    • @SilverCreekAudio
      @SilverCreekAudio  4 місяці тому

      Trim height helps these speakers throw further. Also, it takes advantage of the speakers vertical dispersion pattern (about 60 degrees) which makes being up close more comfortable from an SPL standpoint. As a bonus, height can reduce the likelihood of feedback from the "stage"
      Check out Michael Curtis' UA-cam Channel! He's got a great video on speaker set up and placement and explains why height is so important better than I can!

      @@BradPlays22 Keep 'em out of the sun if you can. I think most of the higher-power active speakers are fan-cooled, so be sure that's working properly. I had an ETX-12P shut down on me in the sun. I sent it in for repair, and it turns out that there's a piece of plastic used in the amp for ducting air from the fan, and it was in the wrong position, cutting off airflow. Black speakers in the sun can get too hot to touch. I had that happen with my mixer, too! I did what you wouldn't usually do to a piece of electronics, and used a spray bottle of water to spray a mist over it. It was so hot the water pretty quickly evaporated, but cooled it down such that I could actually use it.

    One question: You have one guitar player who will never even touch the mic. Why do you think you have to make sure, the mic is not feeding back when it’s pointed right at the wedge ?

    • @SilverCreekAudio

    • @Yashkin0
      @Yashkin0 5 місяців тому

      @@SilverCreekAudioplease consider the RCF Art 932A! They’re similar in price but sound sooooo much better and throw way farther. If you have a little more to spend, consider the NX945, it’s a wood box instead of plastic, uses a 4” CD instead of 3”, so an even lower crossover point to the 15” instead of 12” woofer. Also if you don’t own subs definitely invest in at least a pair of single 18s.
