I think you 3 are amazing and fantastisc. Robbie and Emilia you 2 working hard, lovely place you have in Spain, your farm growing to the best. You guys are not slowest builders. You 2 have a son to take care of. Have fun and Lettie take time. You are young couple ❤ you have doing so much al ready.. So great to follow you guys on UA-cam. I’m living in Sweden. Just now it’s so cold here. Have a great and fantastisc time ❤

Thanks for your kind comment 🧡 It’s really great to do things for ourselves, at our own pace and the way we want to do it. Super fun learning new things as well!
Being a family is the most beautiful thing on earth. Nothing is more important than what you guys are doing. Watching you guys made me realize how trapped I have become in my life, living in Canada, raising my children alone since my son was born.
Thank you so much for your kind comment Kelly, it really means the world to us. It's so cool to see Sage growing up, he brings us a lot of joy for sure, today he is chasing all the lizards everywhere he goes, he knows them all very well now! Great to hear you have your own family too, we came from a similar place during lockdown, we needed to find somewhere to go! So we hope our videos can be inspiring for other people to do the same as we did!
Another great video guys. I love it that you’ve settled into the Spanish way of working. It’ll get done when it’s done. Why would you want to continue living and working to deadlines, you’ve escaped all that.
Wise words! We couldn’t have said it better. It’s good to keep reminding ourselves though.. sometimes you can’t help rushing around, jumping from one project to the next 🤦🏻♀️
I have a party with your settlement on a Spanish mountain top. I am Danish and started in 1990 in Andelusien on a mountain top and smile when I see your UA-cam now I sit on the terrace and enjoy the invincibility of youth, kind regards Leif

Hey hey cloud peepole...watching again a month later...amazing how much missed the first time! Sage is the star. What a great advert for visiting Valencian community in winter. A blessed land.
Just stumbled across your channel while resting up in my little camper trailer here in Australia. You guys are amazing and you now have a new subscriber.
Love your enterprise! You wont regret your new toilet! You are obviously off the tourist beaten track! However, I saw a road sign that tells me you are in a part of Spain subject to major drought. May God have mercy on you and the region because you are going to need it.
Hey Steffen! I sincerely hope Robbie knows what he’s doing, and this is the perfect toilet design 🤣🙈 Yes - we are in the Valencia region. We’ve had very little rainfall these past months, so we are waiting patiently, and hoping to grab every last drop when it does come 🤞🏻

Ive used a camping oven to bake bread over a wood stove, Its super fun and easy. Also setting up an outdoor fire heated bath tab is a must so you can look up at the stars at night.
Thanks John! We're thinking of adding a bathtub outside the compost toilet for Robbie's ice baths, and also for summer time cold showers! But definitely a cool idea to have space for a fire underneath to have hot baths too, we'll have to build this into the design!
We had a composting loo when we first built on our land, the disappointing thing is that with a family of 4, after a years worth of #2's you would only end up with a couple of barrow loads of compost once all the other bugs and worms had dealt to it. I was expecting a shit ton of stuff. Keep up the great work. respect from NZ.

Having already seen the end result and playing catchup watchin your older videos is kind of like reading the last chaper of a book, not a lot of suprises when you know the ending.
You're really getting through our old videos Bob, thank you so much for all your support for our channel! It means the world to us you're enjoying them! ❤️
You are really inspiring by your positivity. And thank you that you show your problems and fuckups. Really great that you are keep going. I think it could be cheaper and easier to build a new one house, then to renovate the old one. But probably I am wrong about that. Thank you for your videos:). My story. We bought an old house near Kyiv. In Ukraine. And everything there has to be renovated))). You know you find out something new every time😂, what has to be fixed. But after your videos it looks like it’s not so bad. Gas pipe and electricity are already connected to our house. Actually we also think to buy sun batteries. Now we have electricity like 3-4 hours a day, because of russian strikes. So we need to adopt. Good luck and keep going;). P.S. I am not sure about if have good internet. I highly recommend you Starlink. God bless Musk for that😅
Thank you for your ongoing support for our channel Вадим! Yes definitely - Robbie says at least 10x easier to build a new house, absolutely nothing on our house is straight! And thanks for the recommendation for Starlink, that's a good idea! ❤️
Where is it in Spain… roughly, don’t need the exact village! It is stunning! Mountains look relatively high. Pyrénées? You are living the dream and you are doing amazingly! The best of it is, in my eyes, how you get along with your son!
I guess they won't answer that, but it's not Pyrenees, it's quite suthern, they cross Tárbena in their way to the beach, in Alicante province, close to Benidorm and Calpe ...... where the sun spends the winter
Hi Robbie if you build a water drinking area for the sheep further away from your garden I think the sheep will not come own and maybe the other animals as well.
Thanks Jose, that's a cool idea thanks for sharing! We did build a pond at the top of the land recently, you can see in our 4th or 5th video, and lots of animals came from all over the valley to drink in it, and we actually found that the number of wild boar eating our vegetables and trees increased because more of them were visiting our land for the water! (even though it was far away from our vegetables!)
It takes a lot of courage to move to this area and start a new live. I will not say a word about the place, as I see you prefer not to give much details about where you live. This whole year and summer has been particularly humid, especially since mid summer on. Increadible last weeks with some storms and quite a lot of water. At this point you would already know this part of Spain can be also cold and wet and the wind blows many days, also, although the weather in general is good and many crops can de grown here. The soil is not anything special and you will have problems growing certain species, but others will do very well.
Thank you Pablo for your kind and thoughtful comment! You must live locally to us with all this knowledge? Yes often snows where we are, we seem to be the only house with snow in the valley most years, and the past few years have been amazing for rain, so yes we've been able to grow hundreds of new trees and vegetables, although this year has been a challenge with an annual rainfall of 200mm, less than the desert! And yes the wind, it's incredibly strong being on the mountain, we need lots of trees to create wind breaks! Thank you for your words of encouragement, and supporting our family with your kind comment! ❤️
@@ladyandtheowlman Quite locally, although may be like an hour from you, as I live in the capital city. I love every inch of my province and for many years have been visiting, riding a bike or walking all through it. I would not dare to say where you live but, from the very first image I knew that was some place familiar to me. This part of Spain is unknown to many. Everybody comes here for the sea and we are the third more montainous region in Spain. Not very tall mountains, but a lot of them. It is not always the amount of rain, but the way it falls. 400 mm when 160 fall down in two outpours of 80 in 2 hours is waaaay less useful than 200 mm through the year with regular rains. This summer of 2024 will be particularly remembered as a good one, with many storms and rainy days and many cloudy days during the day, which give the trees and plants a break. Also many nights have been humid, which give them some comfort. Well, I wish you good luck. Congratulations for your videos. They will show the essence of what your life here is from a very kind point of view, hiding the tough moments (I guess there would be some...).
We're in the mountains between Alicante and Valencia, 760m above sea level. Yes there have been so many storms this summer, lots of people here say they've never seen such rains in July/ August before. And yes agree the slow rain across the year is much better! Oh yes we have some challenges, everyday in fact, and that makes making videos really challenging, but it's so rewarding for us to get lovely comments like this it keeps our motivations high to keep documenting the journey - so thank you! ❤️
You have rocks... learn to use them for construction in the same way they were used before, and it will save many hours carrying bricks up the mountain... you will need a press to split rocks
Thank you for your comment and advice! We really want to learn how to use rocks more effectively. The Moors built many kilometers of terrace walls on our land 1,000 AD, so we're sure we can give it a go! Not sure what a rock press is? ❤️
@@ladyandtheowlman@ladyandtheowlman The Smaller you cut the stones, the thinner the wall can be... sometimes you can use the supermahones to build an internal wall and a ventilation core to increase thermal insulation...
That's cool makes sense! Yes sometimes you are forced to make very thick walls with the stones we have, so being able to cut the stones would be good! ❤️
When I was watching your channel with my girlfriend (she's from Galicia and we wanna move there in two years) I told her: Why are they not using the thousands of stones to build??? 😅 Of course its a little bit more complicated, but for free and much more rustic charme, better room climate,...

Hey there! Thank you for your caring message. I am very vigilant with my moles. I went only last month to get them all checked out and everything was fine 💪🏼 I was very glad the healthcare system in Spain was so thorough and efficient. Again, thank you for your concern 💫💖
Hi 👋, Winnie the Poo. 😂 😂👼, 💩, 🤡😱, I see that you had the storms ☔️ , great to see you, building yourselves, a strong storm shelter, Especially as you’ve put in or hoping to put in a fan , it is going to use electric, or are you going to use a peddling device to operate it?, 😂, At least you have to see the amazing countryside , while you are in your shelter, I am very impressed with your ring beam construction, I think one of your next projects , could be or should be a bread oven, So you do not use any electric?, I’m sure if you look on UA-cam, you’ll better to see how they are constructed, and obviously very good for making pizzas, 🍕, I do remember many years ago riding down on my Harley, To Barcelona, I believe, Staying in the outskirts of Burgos, I believe it was next to a monastery, I seem to recollect that there was hundreds and hundreds of skulls all way round part of the building monastery that is, The hotel which was next door, had an amazing cooking facility, They were placing orders 5 to 6 hours before you dinner, They put in a lamb joint for us, that is X and I, If I remember, rightly it was cooked in cognac, with all the trimmings, veggies, I think it was one of the beautiful pieces of lamb I’ve ever tasted, I remember a very strange incident, as we were riding down the road, very bad storm approaching, so we decided to write into Burgos to get shelter, the first building we came to, we thought it was a hotel, 🏨 ended up being, ❤❤, I believe the Scarlet Pimpernel used to go there, 😂, OR , Nighthawk, 😂❤😂, Lady & Owl 🦉, + Angel 😇, I do recommend insulating the roof, as it is going to get very hot in there, and very very, sm, , stay safe, keep up the great work, Ps I have been working on my drainage system to get rid of water from my basement when it rains, it has taken me over a week, to dig a 10mt long trench, opening tomorrow to start laying down the drainage pipes, ❤ to you guys, From the moulin rouge 😳, 😂
Hello Phil! Glad to hear you’re well and keeping busy. Hope your pipes have gone in with no fuss. I think your bread/pizza oven is a great idea. We definitely need a whole outdoor kitchen as we are basically never inside! It will take some getting used to the temperature though. Nice to put the oven on, and know it’s correct 😅 Slow cooked lamb sounds DELICIOUS 🤤
I wonder how far is your house from sea? Actually we think also to move to Spain. How much time does it take to get to the sea by car. And how far from you are shops, kindergarten, school, hospital etc.
Thank you for the comment Вадим! We live in the mountains between Alicante and Valencia, about 40 minute drive to the coast. We live near a small village that has a nice school and a welcoming community. The biggest hospital is 45 minute drive away. Hope that helps! ❤️
Just found your channel, Love it. I will keep watching but you have to stop taking the baby on the tractor, please, things can happen so fast. A roll bar would be a great idea as well as your on a hill.
Nice to meet you Shawn, thank you for the positive words! You're right a roll bar would be a good idea, although the local farmers tend not to use them because they destabilise the tractors even more (more weight higher up), and also they catch on the low olive trees, but it's definitely still a good idea thank you for the advice!
I will accept the olive tree argument but I ran tractors sideways on tailings dams for 10 years, like I said, "things happen fast on hills." I have seen and heard of too many sad things so either way young kids don't belong on non cabbed equipment. .Life is a risk, every day, the trick is to minimize it. @@ladyandtheowlman
@17:34 please seriously consider cutting those steel rebar down to the ground. One small misstep going down and you or your little one could be impaled. Even tetanus can be had from a scratch on those bars. They are a danger to keep poking up like that. Just a thought. Be well.
Thank you Sterling for your comment! For sure those rebars don't look great! This is one a public beach 40 mins from our house, haha Spain is a little backwards on the health and safety compared to England! ❤️
We started with some savings from our lives in London, then after we spent that on the house/ land + some renovation work, I now work in a local restaurant and cafe, and Robbie has a gardening job and we both work on making youtube videos and make some money from this too! One day we hope to make enough from UA-cam that we can just focus on this, that way we can spend more time with Sage! ❤️
@@ladyandtheowlman I am a pharmacist; One third of the medicines I dispense are either antidepressants or tranquilizers . Spain is the world largest consumer per 100.000 people. Likewise, 25% of the girls aged 15-24 in the UK and US are on that medication. So, you can be sure he is not exactly the only one, and this is not surprising as the world is truly losing sanity. I don't want to make of the comment a dissertation but the tendency is irreversible and it will only get worse, that is why, breaking away from that world as you have done is the right thing to do.
Thanks for the perspective, you have a lot of knowledge in this area. For sure it is helping our sanity being away from the cities and spending time with nature and all the wild animals! ❤️
Thanks Peter! We've got a 6kw Honda generator now, seems to work pretty well with the solar system, luckily we've only needed to use the generator once this entire winter which is super cool
That is a very good question 🤣😅 We could do that, and I’m sure, one day we might. However, I just really like the idea of a compost toilet. I read ‘Humanure Handbook’ (really recommend it) and it changed my outlook on a regular flushing toilet. Mainly for water wastage, and also, because you can get fertile goodness from it after a few years.

🤣🤣 It certainly looks like we are not going back now - we’re too far down the rabbit hole.
Nice
Thank you for the support it means the world to us!! ❤️
Welcome to Spain
❤️
Having already seen the end result and playing catchup watchin your older videos is kind of like reading the last chaper of a book, not a lot of suprises when you know the ending.
You're really getting through our old videos Bob, thank you so much for all your support for our channel! It means the world to us you're enjoying them! ❤️
Nice😊

Good luck!
Thanks so much for the love, it means the world to us!
The goats will need a playground too, lol.
Haha thanks Paul... well actually they just use Sage's playground!
Thanks Philippe! We live in the mountains between Alicante and Valencia, 760m above sea level! Thank you for your lovely words too! 🧡
i guess if even you can do it, we all can
Almost done with a panoramic views
Nice❤❤❤

😊😊😊👍
Hi Robbie if you build a water drinking area for the sheep further away from your garden I think the sheep will not come own and maybe the other animals as well.
Thanks Jose, that's a cool idea thanks for sharing! We did build a pond at the top of the land recently, you can see in our 4th or 5th video, and lots of animals came from all over the valley to drink in it, and we actually found that the number of wild boar eating our vegetables and trees increased because more of them were visiting our land for the water! (even though it was far away from our vegetables!)
❤❤ ❤
🧡🧡🧡
Ahoj, viete si spomenúť kto prvý porušil pravidlo a prdol si pred druhým?😁😁...Ste super partia👌👍
HAHA. That has NEVER happened. I think Robbie would have to leave me 🤣😅

😂 😂👼, 💩, 🤡😱, I see that you had the storms ☔️ , great to see you, building yourselves, a strong storm shelter,
Especially as you’ve put in or hoping to put in a fan , it is going to use electric, or are you going to use a peddling device to operate it?, 😂,
At least you have to see the amazing countryside , while you are in your shelter, I am very impressed with your ring beam construction,
I think one of your next projects , could be or should be a bread oven, So you do not use any electric?, I’m sure if you look on UA-cam, you’ll better to see how they are constructed, and obviously very good for making pizzas, 🍕, I do remember many years ago riding down on my Harley, To Barcelona, I believe, Staying in the outskirts of Burgos, I believe it was next to a monastery, I seem to recollect that there was hundreds and hundreds of skulls all way round part of the building monastery that is, The hotel which was next door, had an amazing cooking facility, They were placing orders 5 to 6 hours before you dinner, They put in a lamb joint for us, that is X and I, If I remember, rightly it was cooked in cognac, with all the trimmings, veggies, I think it was one of the beautiful pieces of lamb I’ve ever tasted, I remember a very strange incident, as we were riding down the road, very bad storm approaching, so we decided to write into Burgos to get shelter, the first building we came to, we thought it was a hotel, 🏨 ended up being, ❤❤, I believe the Scarlet Pimpernel used to go there, 😂, OR ,
Nighthawk, 😂❤😂, Lady & Owl 🦉, + Angel 😇, I do recommend insulating the roof, as it is going to get very hot in there, and very very, sm, , stay safe, keep up the great work, Ps I have been working on my drainage system to get rid of water from my basement when it rains, it has taken me over a week, to dig a 10mt long trench, opening tomorrow to start laying down the drainage pipes, ❤ to you guys,
From the moulin rouge 😳, 😂
Nyc ❤
Thank you! 🤩☀️
@@ladyandtheowlman welcome ♥️💯
Amigos para los hierros solo usar cemento y arena.
NO CAL SE CORROE EL HIERRO.
Gracias por el consejo Anton, no lo sabíamos!
Me thinks it could be somewhere up in the hills above Altea, Alicante...?????????
23:00 para que son esos agujeros que se tapan de cemento al lado de la puerta? What was your job in the city? Are you still working on that ?
@@ladyandtheowlman Gracias ! Me alegro
The old Ky saying is stronger than a brick shithouse.
…with hot and cold running water (if Robbie’s got anything to do with it 🤣)
Just found your channel, Love it.
Guess what there's is one big plus ....you will have bricks left over???.....after you install thew window
🤣🤣🤣 That means we’ll have to think of a new project 😅
LOL

Absolutely - must remember to wear gloves! 😅

Situación constructor.
Gracias Anton! Díganos si cree que hay algo que podamos hacer mejor con nuestras técnicas de construcción!?
What do you work, business/Job & how you mange fund
Souce of earning????
We started with some savings from our lives in London, then after we spent that on the house/ land + some renovation work, I now work in a local restaurant and cafe, and Robbie has a gardening job and we both work on making youtube videos and make some money from this too! One day we hope to make enough from UA-cam that we can just focus on this, that way we can spend more time with Sage! ❤️
Great I have also land in mountains, farm house as well
That's great to hear! In what country is your farm? ❤️
india
Did you heard about second longest wall after great wall of China??
Wich is Kumbhalgarh fort just 10 km far from my Village
Love the strongly feminist thread 😆
How many hours a day fit training does your husband devote to? If I get that fit maybe I can get a woman like her
Haha well Robbie has always struggled a little with his mental health, so does lots of workouts to keep himself sane!
17:59 oh boy, some people are lucky
You guys really need a backup generator Enjoy
Thanks Peter! We've got a 6kw Honda generator now, seems to work pretty well with the solar system, luckily we've only needed to use the generator once this entire winter which is super cool
🧡🌟☀️
Maybe I miss something a long the way but why not get a incinerator toilet for inside your house. You can have both.
I love the project. Brave!!
Thank you Ramón! ❤️
