Even if we don’t understand why they happen there are for our greater good. Also let me remind you that we are the reason why our world is so corrupt, because of our greed and free will. But because God doesn’t want to force us to do anything he let’s us do whatever it is we want (even if he himself is against it he continues to love us). This lead up to all the situations we deal with today. He created Satan and us knowing what we would do but loved us enough to put up with it and let us decide wether or not we wanted to follow him. Also we need downfalls in order to make us stronger and to learn. Sometimes bringing us closer to God.

Christmas was originally celebrated the first week of December, but the early Christians noticed there was a pagan holiday (Saturnalia) on December 25 that often resulted in unrestrained debauchery. So, they moved Christmas to December 25 in the hopes of ending the pagan holiday (as we all know now, all lot of the pagan debauchery continued). But that doesn't mean Christmas itself is pagan or has pagan origins.

Good Friday isn't really a holiday, even though it gets mentioned on the calendar. As far as I know, there isn't really anything special done for it. Kind of like Arbor Day. You generally don't even get the day off from work and/or school
Christmas and Easter have some pagan elements. I don't think the Christmas tree comes from Christian tradition, the same with the egg hunt. Keep in mind that Jesus was not actually born on Dec 25th--even if you take into account them not having the gregorian calendar back then. He was born in the spring. The gospels mention the shepherds minding their sheep in the fields after Jesus was born (which is apparently not something you did in the winter). "The Star of Bethlehem" is a documentary that really goes into all of that better than I can in a youtube comment.

I think the most intriguing thing is that salvation is a free gift in Christianity, received by beleif. That was unheard of in the ancient World. Even now. Most religions say you have to earn your way to heaven.

I remember when I first came out as questioning my sexuality on my tumblr a few years ago, my mostly catholic mutuals were super supportive. I realize you probably wouldn't see this but as a Christian thank you Brett for defending us.
Christianity is often viewed as toxic but honestly if someone were to really sit down and study what Christianity is about. We are far from any kind of toxicity and are supposed to be really peaceful people.
I mean in the Bible it talks about how God sent down his only son so we can be saved our for sins and what did we do in return? We literally murdered him in cold blood, and in doing so God turned his head because he couldn't watch. But Jesus didn't, he could've decided to hate us. He didn't have to suffer like he did, he could've left at any given moment. But he didn't and he still loved us even after we betrayed him, AND forgave us.
Which had to be our darkest moment. I literally can't think of a greater sin then murdering the son of the God of your religion and in Christianity that's Jesus.
If that isn't love then idk what is and it's what Christianity haters seem to forget.
It's sad that nowadays there are toxic Christianity trends and Karen's going about trying to force it down peoples throats. That's not what we are about and honestly saying God would be a leader in a lgbtq parade is so beyond disrespectful. Both to the lgbtq+ community and to Christians because of what Jesus stands for in the bible.

I don’t mean like “go to Belize” or “go to Dubai” I mean like, take a road trip to the largest city your next state over. Stay 2 nights. Go to anywhere that catches your eye in that downtown. And do it often. Stretch your horizons. Start flying if you’re able to afford it/live near an airport. Your world may feel small, but it doesn’t have to.

I live in Colorado Springs, our local focus on the family got vandalized on Thanksgiving, basically blaming the shooting on them. So hurtful to see. Prayers to the victims' families should be the priority, not hate.

With God's strength. You are correct in saying they are making it too hard...for you in your own strength. But ask God to give you the strength to love them as He does, and He will. That doesn't mean you agree with their lifestyle or social lies, but it does mean you show love to them despite their actions. It is a supernatural love that often can only be shown through supernatural strength.

This reminds me of that one UA-camr named “God is Grey”. She says that she is an “LGBTQ affirming Christian” (basically saying that homosexuality is not a sin which according to the Bible, it is). She is also pro BLM and pro hook up culture. She even called Allie Beth Stuckey (a well known conservative and a Christian) a Karen, and said that her views are tarnishing God and Jesus or something like that. It’s ironic because God is Grey is doing that exact thing.

I want to discuss the church in Iceland. I, myself, am a very devout Christian. I am not homophobic, transphobic, bigoted, or any of the other ways modern society negatively perceives a Christian person. However, the way that the church presented Jesus was purely disrespectful and blasphemous. Jesus Christ was/is a perfect ‘man’ that did NOT conform to worldy habits, otherwise known as human nature. By presenting Christ as a genderfluid individual, this completely disregards the Biblical truth of who Jesus was/is. It’s pure blasphemy.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 says, “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate…shall inherit the kingdom of God.”
By presenting Jesus as genderfluid, or effeminate, completely contradicts God’s word. The church itself is just lying so that more people feel included purely on a physical and somewhat emotional basis.
The so-called inclusivity does not come from changing the Word of God to fit into societal wants and standards, but it comes from salvation alone. Read John 3:1-16.
Modern society has a warped view of what Christianity is as a whole. You do not get to pick and choose what you want to be deemed ‘valid’ from the Bible, because then that’s not real belief. The whole point of Christianity is to love one another through God and Christ alone, not by conforming to earthly things.

I’m not homophobic, transphobic, or anything the world would call me. These people know that Christians stand against anything the perverts God’s design and automatically assume we are actively hating those who are apart of LGBTQ. I could care less about sexuality. The part that hurts me when I see transsexuals specifically is that they are constantly looking for something to fill themselves up and think that changing their gender will do it but in the end all they feel is that same emptiness we feel when we fall away from God and can’t fill that void until we stop and run back to Him. I’m not saying it doesn’t happen with homosexuals too because it is, just that trans people are mutilating the bodies God gave them to turn into something they will regret if they are saved. The question is who has the courage to go out into the world for Jesus.
Even I struggle with getting the courage to talk to people about Jesus and their salvation and I’m in High School.
Can’t stress it enough. If you strive for God you WILL be fulfilled in all that you do for Him.
If you need a passage to study I suggest James and Ecclesiastes because James gives a basic life guide and Ecclesiastes gives a fresh perspective on where your focus needs to be.
This reads like a sermon, wow. From my limited perspective, I honestly believe a lot of people overlook the fact that the only way to be truly inclusive and united is through their faith in Christ and what He has done for us. That's literally the path to true unity because everything else about two people may be completely different, like such polar opposites that they would not get along if not for their shared faith in Christ. This was awesome to read.

A pagan here but I remember this really woke ex-friend of mine who attended a Christian event/camp (not sure what it is called); long story short, when she returned she was upset and mad cause the priest and almost all the young people like her who attended were anti-LGBT. Days later I met with another Christian friend of mine who attended the same event/camp and she told me how she's bothered to have her religion mixed and people twisting the truth just to appeal to the LGBT.
