disclaimer: there isn't a ton of skiing in this video. it took me longer than i expected to get to the mountain and the hike itself took over an hour from start to finish! so stoked i finally got up here! i truly love traveling and skiing. the whole experience is so impactful and valuable. Love your skiing, narration (esp. during the runs!), excitement, music and video skills! Yes that's the iconic Maroon Bells at 12:02 and 14:42. Glad you slowed down to check on the fallen skier. Well done!!
Recently discovered your channel. Also recently moved to Aspen for work. The busses can definitely be tricky as I ride the bus from Glenwood past the brush creek park and ride to aspen I can’t help but get a chuckle.
Nice breakfast. Yum! I can’t believe you got this edit out so quick after the trip! There used to be a snow cat that u can ride a part of the way up for the hike…maybe stopped operation due to Covid? Those stats of Highland Peak and the Bowl look about same to Taos but there’s a lift to Kachina Peak (currently moguled up) and I’m riding it this morning…stoked! Enjoying all your hard work on creating great content to get myself stoked up for my own ski adventures!
Don't sweat it about not much skiing my dude, always loving the content. It's great that I'm able to live through your videos to see what it's like skiing out west being on the east coast. Peace!
mitchell thank you brother. that means a lot to me. i always want to provide the most entertaining and most valuable content for you guys so i get stressed when i feel like that isnt being met.
I did the highland bowl just a little over a month ago. Well worth it, it is absolutely stunning And I’m glad you were able to experience that. After doing that I will 100% do it again sometime. Awesome vid man, you mix the vlog and ski vibe perfect.
Super impressed with all the extra work you put in setting up the cameras and then picking them up afterwards!! Would’ve liked to see your dinner plate 😉!! Any snacks for the day? Regards!!
Wasn't expecting an episode with Gordon Ramsay, damn that food looked good! Incredible views from the top of Highland Peak... Thanks for taking us with you
@@LucasCatania17 Yeah no problem I was only there for a bit but I was wondering if you got my clip because I don’t know if I sent it to the right email. I just wanted to make sure
@@LucasCatania17 hey Lucas I just checked the stream and I realized you did show the clip thanks so much it was from Killington Vermont. Glad you appreciated the scenery
Just missed you this weekend. What a great weekend in Aspen. The video does not do justice to how steep the runs in Higlands Bowl and Steeplechase bowl really are. Glad you made the hike.
I used to ski over 100 days a season. I still get out about 30 to 40 times a season. I ski the east coast. Haven’t taken a trip out west in three years. Watching your videos gives me a new goal… Buy a van and use my vacation time from work to hit the road!! It will take me a few years but it will happen.
A breakfast I recommend for you is a toad in a hole, you cut a hole in a piece of bread and cook the egg in the hole, it’s really good and I think you should try it. Love the videos, super underrated :))
The views at Aspen Highlands are so magnificent that you shouldn't, for a second, think your viewers judge your videos by the "amt. of time spent skiing." It is the ENTIRE experience we enjoy with you! My twin & I skied at the 'Highlands' a few times, & it's definitely a winner for both its AMAZING views and for its laidback atmosphere. (We were first there when there was only 1 or 2 buildings at the bottom!...think one was called The Merry-go-round.) P.S. Being a foodie, I loooove your new 'elevated' cooking. ASPARAGUS w/bacon! An egg 'n potato 'n bacon breakfast sautéed in all the good stuff our arteries crave! You're young so enjoy it! I'm old(er) and STILL enjoy it! Bwahahahaha! Am looking forward to your Snowmass video next week -- fun area for ALL levels of skiers! PPS. Glad you & Luna take a nite time break when you are 'dozing/driving' late nite up to a ski area. I shudder at the times I drove 'round midnite on the NY Thruway (from NYC bound for N.E. ski areas) half-conscious! 😵 THANKS as always for sharing your ski adventures with us!
thank you alice! its relieving to hear that you enjoy the videos regardless of the amount of skiing! thanks for always sharing your stories on what the resorts used to be like. i love hearing about them! cheers!
Ski vids with a touch of cooking tutorials? Hell yes. Always enjoy your posts my man! Still contemplating Snowbird sometime end of Feb/early March. Have they gotten any more snow out there?? Checked this week and no precip in the forecast. 😕
Wonderful. Totally worth watching. Brown rice is better than white for you; has more vitamins and minerals for recovery than white. Just takes longer to cook. Is it uncomfortable hiking in those ski boots?
@@LucasCatania17 Cool. Haven't skied in a long time - live in a warm climate now with short hills. Would you ever consider what I see advertised as randonee or ski-touring equipment for how you ski?
Next time you go to Aspen you have to get Hickory house ribs the food there is amazing and really affordable compared to the other restaurants in Aspen
I find FATMAP's super helpful in understanding the terrain and it has descriptions which are also super helpful when you have a limited time at the resort.
Hey Lucas! Another great video with unbelievable views! So you hiked up there with all those people the first time yet you skied down alone. Where did everyone else go??
You should try the dakine Heli 20L backpack. It is about the size of the gopro one and holds your skis easily on the sides. It isn't too expensive either.
Should've subbed last season idk what i was thinking waiting this long. But this quality is unmatched! Get lucky to see shots like this in professionally produced GoPro vids.
On paper 800' over 1.2 miles is not a bad climb. Twice at 12,000' elevation with all your ski gear is a whole different ball game. Pooped me out just watching at my kitchen table :) . I'd assume that's the biggest in resort climb available in N America. Very cool!! Another great Tuesday morning video!!
