Hi Christina, Happy holidays,..great video by the way. just want to say since we are in the winter season, and some of us are de-cluttering, it would be great to donate some of the items to the colleges. there are many international students who could benefit from our de-cluttered winter clothing. My sister works at George brown college and she told me that they usually have clothing donation drives for international students. I am not sure if all the colleges do it but it would be helpful and beneficial rather than the drop bins that resell the clothing . Just wanted to pass on the info. God bless in the season of giving and receiving. Happy Holidays!! Thank you for again for such great videos.
She doesn’t. She always mentions how she replaces them. My advice, wear an undershirt. Uniqlo airism is great, undetectable under garments, keeps you cool and protects garments from deodorant, sweat, oils etc = less washes between wears. Also have more than 1 to rotate. Wash with similar colors, cold water inside out, air dry. Steam to freshen up in between wears.
Really? I would've tossed it a long time ago. Same with the Anine Bing blazer. It shouldn't be so hard to try and style something. Now it's like a chore to wear those things. Why is that? Why would you try so long? These two things come back over and over again and every time we can see doubt and an uncomfortable feeling. It's been taking up emotional space for so long. Just... put them in a box and hide them for a year. If you never miss them, get rid of it at the end of 2025 without even looking into the box.
@@DutchXFangirl I think we all have items that are probably somewhere between the stuff we wear all the time and the fantasy self stuff. The type of items we love the idea of, and actually do occasionally wear, but just can't let go of. She did say she knows she'd just go out and buy a new checked blazer if she gets rid of this one. Seems like she's only got a couple of items like this so I don't think it's a big deal. 🤷♀️ It would be a problem if half her closet were these type of items though.
You bought that Anine Bing blazer for a reason. I just got Amy Smilovic’s creative pragmatist book and she talks about how she keeps some items that she doesn’t necessarily wear because they help remind her that she shouldn’t purchase similar items. It satisfies an itch, and its presence prevents you from going out and buying another similar item that also won’t be worn. Just like you said, you’ll just go and buy another check blazer anyway. Seems contrary to the minimalist “declutter everything that doesn’t serve a purpose” mindset but sometimes it just makes more sense to keep 2-3 items like this in your closet.
Im decluttering b4 the new year. Im just sick of stuff! Clothes, accessories, coats, home decor, and my life. Im over all the crap preventing me from the life i desire. All this stuff has energy and it doesn't feel positive anymore. Love your videos ❤
@Christinamychas that's why I love you. You're always so positive. In January, I'm planning to work on the closet with the help of a friend. Yay to space!
Would you quickly hold up the yes pieces you put back in your closet next time you declutter so we get an idea of your most useful items. It would also be helpful to hold up pieces that are definate no's. This would be a great learning technique for some of us. Thank you for considering the suggestions and for your content. Susan
Something that has really helped me declutter my wardrobe is making a pile to donate but also a pile of "favorites" I know are on their way out, but that I keep in a box or bag for local clothing swaps. Then I go to a bar or friend's house and swap with stylish and likeminded women of all sizes which is supremely satisfying. It makes it WAY easier to "say goodbye" to old favorite pieces that are no longer working for me. I love watching them find "new homes"!
Thank you for the instructive video! I actually overdid the decluttering in 2024, as it was my primary coping mechanism for work stress. I regret having parted ways with a number of items, just because in the moment I pressured myself to make a yes-or-no decision (I live in a beautiful 1929 apartment with limited storage options). So I have decided for 2025 on a loose no-in, no-out framework within which I prioritize wearing everything that I have, rather than automatically giving it away or unconsciously bringing new things in. I'm excited to try this new approach.✨️ Wishing everyone peace and joy as we navigate our individual and collective lives in 2025. 💖
I would love an inventory video where you talk about the numbers of leggings, workout bras, tank tops,… The every day pieces of clothing that you have in your seasonal wardrobe. Not that I think that it should be a Bible for anyone to be duplicating. Just that I have the curiosity on how to cull my wardrobe. I do much better with structured goals. And I think that your minimalish style is very attainable.
This did actually kickstart me to go and tidy up in the bedroom. I didn't declutter - that's something I do at the turn of the season - but I did sort, fold and put away. Too many things have been living on top of my dresser for weeks.
Would love a video about workout clothing & brands you shop. I’ve been wondering about what materials to go for as I try to update my closet with more natural fibres & longer lasting semi-synthetics
The red cardigan/matching colored top is a warm red, likely a reason you get hung up on them (I’m a professional fine arts painter, very entrenched in color theory for what that’s worth). I’m not one to be dogmatic about the color seasons stuff but if you’re shooting for the deep/cool/clear words you’re hitting maybe 2/3. Thanks for the video, I did a seasonal declutterring recently, too 😊
I'd love to see you styling your less worn items! I am sure you will come up with cool outfits :) I loooove the ice-grey top, I'd wear it both on it's own and maybe with the chequered blazer as it has a blue stripe in it. I just recently rearranged my closet, which is very similar to yours in size and entrails. Not that I decluttered a lot, but swapped some seasonal items and just wanted to remind myself of the ones I already own and rarely wear, like meeting old friends. Some of them are also pretty festive so now it's good time to let them see the light :) I did however just hang all my jeans and pants because I find it's easier to combine them with tops when they are all hanging in one place (also this way I have more space for chunky sweaters, the category I really need to declutter TBH). My stylist friend shared the following hack with hanging all the items in a capsule wardrobe - once you've built a capsule where all the tops go with all of the bottoms, you can just hang them by category and always take one top from the right and one bottom from the right. After you've worn them, you hang them on the left, and have the next combo waiting on the right :) Works best if you have different number of tops and bottoms (e.g. if you have 5 tops and 5 bottoms, every 5 days you will get the same combinations, and will need to mix it up manually, but otherwise it happens automatically). Of course it's a bit idealistic to have everything going with everything and be appropriate for every day, but it's a nice starting point and also one can select just a few pieces for 'this week's capsule' for example.
This is really inspiring, I will do my declutter after Christmas because Im sure to receive some clothing. I will watch again your video when I look at my closet, take piece by piece to really bring in 2025 only what serves me❤👗👚👖
Ooh. Maybe be. Just this morning I put a section in my wardrobe calling it “ give it a try / wear”. Forcing myself to wear it to see how I really feel about it. I need a serious clear out of vesty tops and sportwear stuff. I need to clear out 70% of this stuff. 😂
My closet is even smaller than yours 😅 I desperately want to declutter but this year I won’t. I’m just gonna put stuff into a bag and store it in the basement. I got diagnosed with thyroid issues this year and finally found the cause of gaining weight even tho I hit the gym, do my cardio and eat clean. Now that I get medicated, I am hoping to loose weight and fit into my clothes again. I only fit into 3 pair of pants rn 😭 but I don’t need a visual reminder of the fact that I tried so hard and couldn’t achieve anything every time I open my closet so I’m just gonna put the „too small“ pieces away, focuse on my goals and get them back out when I’m ready ☺️
I forgot to comment on a previous video where you showed what you’re wearing when you’re tooling around at home, and how to spice it up quickly if you decide to go out. I’m so bad about having “house clothes “and “outside clothes “. My nice clothes that I love rarely get worn because I don’t go to the office anymore. In 2025 I want to wear the clothes I love at home too and not think I have to wear my grungy sweats just because I’m not going anywhere! Thanks for showing in that video how you can be yourself yet comfortable at home, and then add a thing or two to dress it up a little bit when going out, without having to change the whole outfit. I think my problemis shoes. I always end up taking my shoes off when I’m tooling around at home, and that’s a pain. So then I think I’m just going to be wearing house slippers, and then my outfit follows suit to something that will go with House slippers! I’ll have to think on that one. Any advice is much appreciated!
You really helped me do this last year, so this year, it’s not so overwhelming. I have boomerang items too. I have a purgatory rack in another closet, and sometimes things do come back.
Voting for the Anine Bing houndstooth blazer. It still looks great on you - I feel like it could be the centerpiece b/c it basically goes w everything in your closet. Hope to see a whole video where you style that piece 20 ways. Happy New Year!
Thanks for the inspiring video, Christina. I would very much enjoy a separate video on eg 10 ways of styling the checked blazer. Some ideas that come to my mind: with your horseshoe denim; or with a yellow or blue that ties with the stripes on the blazer; or with an edgy graphic T-shirt (from the biker corner of your personal style) that would offer contrast to the more conservative style of the blazer, etc. Thanks for all your content work for us. Have Merry Christmas and a fulfilling year 2025. Hugs from Berlin, Aneta
Agree that itchy sweaters are no fun. That said, I collect handmade, fair isle sweaters - which i love, and which can sometimes fall into that category. Great tips online for diminishing significantly or eliminating the itchy factor, if you love the piece.
I love your videos!! they made me feel very relief with all the trends on social media, that aren't necessarily bad but i just love how to style my daily clothes and make them something more fashionable and polish. Can you share us the link or where do you buy those metalic organizers? Please!!! 😊
Agree about the slightly too oversized sweaters. I have many now that are slightly oversized boxy but I can still do a front tuck if I want to and get a nice drape
Thanks for sharing Christina, it’s great to see how your reasoning towards decluttering/keeping items has evolved! I have a section in my digital wardrobe for items “on hold” that could be upgraded to better suit my aesthetic/functional preferences, or to be more versatile with my long-time favourites - which then go on the Wishlist. Sounds like your Anine Bing blazer fits the bill 😄
I vote that it's time to declutter the Anine Bing plaid blazer. And if you want another plaid blazer as soon as you declutter it, this time you can buy one that's a "Hell Yes" for you. Tibi's glenplaid blazer will probably be part of their January sale, and may be a better plaid blazer fit for you.
@@Christinamychas I think I agree with Diane on this one. You don't love it enough to wear it, so let someone else go crazy for it, and get one you really, really love. For years I have tried various blazers, only to let them go, and think blazers are not for me. I now have a Christmas red velvet one which I love and wear all the time! Merry Christmas and have a great break in the holidays xx
I had to banish all synthetics from my wardrobe long ago because of skin allergies to plastics. But, in the last five years or so, I realized that the more exotic woolie fibers like Alpaca, Mohair, etc. I have tried also have to go, they’re just too itchy. So, now I limit my knits to cashmere, Merino wool, a blend of these and/or organic cotton. Still I have to wear long-sleeved silk jersey tees, scarves or turtlenecks under them, but at least these combinations don’t overheat me. Like you, I don’t like the look of turtlenecks under sweaters, but do wear them when home alone sometimes. The silk turtlenecks I love for their extreme comfort have unflattering droopy and wrinkled necklines, too. I haven’t worn any of my wool/cashmere turtlenecks for several winters, they drive me bonkers, I think they have to go. I’m not buying anymore turtlenecks that aren’t silk or very lightweight cotton. I’ll keep one favorite perhaps for going up to the mountains, but they’re not essential for my San Francisco climate anyway. I love cashmere dresses for winter, but most have turtlenecks, so they have to go, too. It’s always a balancing act between what has the look we want, but the comfort we need.
You are like the princess of Decluttering 😊 ur sooo cute ! You inspired me to declutter soo much of my clothes since my storage is 3 time your closet size, but i was sooo miserable with the overflowing closet. You inspired me alot to live more beautifully! Happy new year
This was fun! Closet looks very happy! I agree about missing certain pieces of clothing--i love that. When spring starts, i am always glad to see certain pieces again! We have such a short winter here in the southeastern us, so i have a lot of coats i use as pieces to pep up what i wear underneath, which aren't exactly winter clothes. layering like this is my friend. Merry Christmas, Christina! Hope you have a very peaceful one with the ones you love!🎄🎄
The way I thought this B roll was old 😂 The long hair is back!! I really related to your comment about slow declutters in this video. I have decluttered several pieces that I ended up just repurchasing. This even goes for pieces in different sizes. I can fluctuate between 2 pants sizes. Decluttered the smaller size only to realize the larger size was baggy on me… I love the piece so much, I repurchased and have accepted that both sizes are staying in my closet!
Happy New Year to you, Christina! Yes, please style your Maybe's. This will likely give inspirstion to us with our own "maybe's"! 😊❤🎉 Yes, decluttering post cross-country move, phase one. With my husband's assistance, I reduced my "fashion" scarves from three large bins down to one! 😊❤ (Not including Winter warm types, which I already dramatically reduced pre-move. 😊Yay!) A future phase of continued decluttering will be of my "still just too many" Summery dresses (one of my long-time wardrobe LOVES)...starting in March in SE Nevada!🌞
I'd be interested to see you using the indyx app to help plan the styling of the 'maybe' pieces, I find that with my pieces sometimes the flat lay and the clothes actually on me are such a mismatch 😭
Really relate to the comment about muscular shoulders making fit difficult. I have a similar issue with broad shoulders/upper back/upper arms from climbing. So many shirts that fit in the shoulders will be loose in the chest & body. I know you use a tailor, & that’s something I’m trying to do more - have you ever had success with getting shirts taken in this way? Actually a video about how you use your tailor would be much appreciated!
Great video. I'm interested in your closet organization tools..i.e. your small denim case. I'm moving to a place with a MUCH smaller closet and you seem to making very good use of yours.
I tried keeping everything from all seasons out all at once too, and hanging jeans. I'm in Colorado, and I do wear some of my summer things year-round when I don't put them away for winter, but my closet also is just too crowded. I found with hanging jeans, I reach for the ones not hanging up first, so they are going back in a folded stack on a shelf. The capsule wardrobe on a rack experiment was successful though, so that's going to be the plan for January too.
I did a much needed declutter + organization of my wardrobe at the start of Dec! Felt so much lighter afterwards. I love your day in the life/life reset videos. Pls let us know what gym brands are doing it right!
Christina you know that I am your biggest biggest supporter and whenever you posts a New Vlog it's makes my day instantly ♥️😀💫 God Bless You Always Always sending you lots of love to you
Must be something about the end of the year when we all need to declutter. I share a small closet with my husband and 2025 is going to be a super curated simple wardrobe for me. I love the colors you choose and happen to love your houndstooth blazer. May I ask what is the jewelry case brand you touched on? I would like to get my jewelry case off my bathroom counter and stored in my closet. 😊😊😊😊
Great video and useful tips. It’s decluttering time for me too. I noticed your energy shifted down when you talked about the large oversized sweater and the checked blazer. Those are hard decisions to make - to keep or toss. If the item wasn’t in your closet already, how much would you spend to buy that exact item? How essential are those items in your overall wardrobe? Or maybe you like checked blazers and oversized sweaters but something is not quite right with that exact one that you own. . . . Good luck and happy decluttering. I love your videos.
I feel like its ok to let the Anine Bing blazer go. Its a bit corporate looking, imo. Even though you say you would go out and buy another checked blazer to replace it, I feel like you'd choose a more subtle check
It might be a matter of letting go now, and if the urge for a checked blazer comes back around, taking time to sort out why you didn't wear the Anine Bing one - so you can decide if it's really worth trying to find another checked blazer or if it's something to admire from afar / in someone else's closet 😊
@@ChristinamychasThank you. One more question please… I am between a S and a M by the recs on their site. I usually get size Small belts and wear 26 or 27 jeans but when I measure my belts I seem to be right in between their sizes. Can you give any guidance?
Great video! 👍🏻 I love decluttering but my problem is that my weight fluctuates so much (awful, I struggle…I’m up down, up down) my goal for 2025 is to lose some weight and MAINTAIN!!! Anyways, I have different sizes that I need to keep…small, medium and large. Brutal.
Ooh great, I saw that i can change the audio to german language for translate. So it will be much easyer for me to understand you ❤️ best whises from seitzerland
I've noticed a lot of your maybes are shoulder pads items. I feel like the shoulder pads aren't positioned quite right for your body so it's hard to make it work? Just an idea I had
@christinamychas can you share what brand(s) make those tips with shoulder pads in them? I need sharp too and have more sloped shoulders but struggle to find shoulder pads in items other than blazers. And man, if I could ever find a vneck camisole with built in shoulder pads I would be in heaven!
I like tibi, cos and aritzia (when the materials are right re: aritzia) - I’ve seen massimo dutti also does some nice styles too but I haven’t tried them
Who’s decluttering with me? 🤩 📦 give the video a like 👍 to let me know if you want to see a video of styling my “Maybe’s”!

Happy Christmas to you and yours! Thank you Finely! ❤❤❤
@ ❄️🎄💕
Yes, decluttering post cross-country move, phase one. With my husband's assistance, I reduced my "fashion" scarves from three large bins down to one! 😊❤
(Not including Winter warm types, which I already dramatically reduced pre-move. 😊Yay!)
A future phase of continued decluttering will be of my "still just too many" Summery dresses (one of my long-time wardrobe LOVES)...starting in March in SE Nevada!🌞
This came just in time. ❤❤ Thank you for this.
❤❤❤
Your jeans in this video are EVERYTHING
I'd be interested to see you using the indyx app to help plan the styling of the 'maybe' pieces, I find that with my pieces sometimes the flat lay and the clothes actually on me are such a mismatch 😭
I just completed a six hour declutterring of home decor.
I need that gym clothing test/review video! ❤
Great job Christina!!! Love this video
Can’t believe how organized you are! I have 3+ closets and multiple dressers full. I need to pair down. So much work!
Great video. I'm interested in your closet organization tools..i.e. your small denim case. I'm moving to a place with a MUCH smaller closet and you seem to making very good use of yours.
I would love to see a video on your current collection of handbags
I tried keeping everything from all seasons out all at once too, and hanging jeans. I'm in Colorado, and I do wear some of my summer things year-round when I don't put them away for winter, but my closet also is just too crowded. I found with hanging jeans, I reach for the ones not hanging up first, so they are going back in a folded stack on a shelf. The capsule wardrobe on a rack experiment was successful though, so that's going to be the plan for January too.
Thank you Christina for sharing your experience and declutterring mindset. It does help a lot and you are very relatable! God Bless ❤
You are definitely a woman who knows what colors work for you. I admire that.
Yes please! Your gym gear! I would love to see what you have and where you got it from! Lots of love from Sweden 🇸🇪
Would love to know more about how you picked your three style words!
Excited for the gym brand review!
I was about to start folding laundry and opened UA-cam on the right time
Yayyy! 🧺
I did a much needed declutter + organization of my wardrobe at the start of Dec! Felt so much lighter afterwards.
I love your day in the life/life reset videos. Pls let us know what gym brands are doing it right!
Christina you know that I am your biggest biggest supporter and whenever you posts a New Vlog it's makes my day instantly ♥️😀💫 God Bless You Always Always sending you lots of love to you
❤❤
No no no! Keep the bk leather jacket! Withstand the temptation to declutter. It looks great in you! Classic piece!
I kept that one!
@Christinamychas Yaaaaay😁
I felt the same about the red cardigan -n you two have a complicated relationship but I think you’re still friends :)
Have a very Merry Christmas! 🎅🎄❤️
I felt this wonderful feeling in my mind, body and soul when she said “I prefer *amzrepe* ”
Merry Christmas Christina! Please keep the checked blazer it’s beautiful and it suits you perfectly ❤
I’m almost afraid to go into my closet 😒 it is packed but I’m going to declutter it or starts it this week 🤞🏽
Looking forward to more styling videos! 😊
LOVE the one with the pattern😍 Looks só good on you!
What a great vlog. I love my Neverful Med and GM. And Longchamp. Use it on flights and road trips. To my two daughters-in-law. 😍 *Niceshopx* 😍
Looking forward to your styling the “maybes” video 😊✨
Thank you for another great video, Christina. I, too, live in a smallish downtown Toronto condo, and this kind of closet reorganization is a must!
I’m currently on holiday and I’m keeping up with your vids and I’m looking forward to doing this when I get back. Happy Holidays lady!
Happy birthday!
Thank you 🤗
Love that black belt with silver you are wearing with jeans. Do tell!!!
Dehance!
@@ChristinamychasThank you. One more question please… I am between a S and a M by the recs on their site. I usually get size Small belts and wear 26 or 27 jeans but when I measure my belts I seem to be right in between their sizes. Can you give any guidance?
Very cool video, it was interesting to watch
Gonna use the folded denim box….thanks❤
This was very helpful and the timing is perfect.
I love closet decluttering and organizing videos, thank you.
Very well done. Love your vibe and style… where is the belt from? I need it.
Well Done! Happy Holidays!
Brutal.
Where do you buy your boxes for your denim? It’s a good idea to fold them and you still can see them x
Ikea!
Loved this video! And just pre-ordered your book on Amazon 🤩
🥹 thank you!!
That checkered blazer is my fav❤
Not decluttering the closet but baking cookies while watching your video ❤
Yummm what kind? 🍪
Ooh great, I saw that i can change the audio to german language for translate. So it will be much easyer for me to understand you ❤️ best whises from seitzerland
Yup, that Aritzia blazer has become too tight over your arms, well done! 💪🏽
I've noticed a lot of your maybes are shoulder pads items. I feel like the shoulder pads aren't positioned quite right for your body so it's hard to make it work? Just an idea I had
Yay I love these kinds of videos
I think the red set is far too warm for you and your colour palette in general! It totally clashes with you and with everything else you own...
I disagree. Love the red on her!
Me too!
decluttered with you!
How did you do the sweater foldover thing? It just looked like a black blob on the hanger and that could be useful for me sometimes.
It helps to try things on if you’re not sure. Mmm not sure about shoulder pads!
@christinamychas can you share what brand(s) make those tips with shoulder pads in them? I need sharp too and have more sloped shoulders but struggle to find shoulder pads in items other than blazers. And man, if I could ever find a vneck camisole with built in shoulder pads I would be in heaven!
I like tibi, cos and aritzia (when the materials are right re: aritzia) - I’ve seen massimo dutti also does some nice styles too but I haven’t tried them
I always enjoy your videos. Question: How is it that you live in Canada and do not have more sweaters. Needing inspiration from you. :)😀
me and my sister used to give clothes away to each other then back to each other in that way
👍to styling your maybes
Where do you buy your white t shirts? Thx!
Do you use indyx? It helped me a lot to actually wear my clothes and make outfits
I spy some Sid jeans! they look rad on you.
Could you please tell me where the clothing rack you have in this video is from?thanks!
them cozy jeans you got on tho!! i love big cozy jeans
