My "favorite West Virginia song" ever....great voice Eddy Bailes!! I was born in Clay County, the youngest of six coal miner's daughters. We moved to Glenville then and in 65 we moved to Ohio. I will always be proud to say "I'm from West Virginia".
Beckley born and reared til Dad found Dallas, Tx. he died 10 years ago and I took him back to his favorite place and scattered him around Ellington ridge, the new river, and in the backwaters of bluestone.
Both of my parents were from WV (Greenbrier County) and we just buried my father in January. My mother still is with us but this song makes me think of my father. I miss him so much.

I have searched for this song for over 30 years! All I could remember was one line, "Surely God has walked in WVa.". So true! My. mother had the 45rpm record! I listened to this a lot! I still remembered every word! So beautiful! I live in Fla., but my roots are in the Panhandle State!❤
I remember all the places in the photos. My husband was born in Parkersburg WVA we had many a good time there with his many friends from Belpre High School. Jim showed the whole State of WVA and it is so beautiful. I miss going there for the reunions.
