I saw your product on Instagram , I came to search on UA-cam for more details and here you are . Very interesting , as an owner of a 2024 Crosstrek its something I might be looking for certain activities. I would have love to see it in a Subaru to get an accurate look of it nesting inside ...maybe in another video ... Thanks for your honnest review and transparency
Thank you for the feedback, and I appreciate you taking the time to learn more about the Hele Box! If you want to get a feel for how it fits in a 24’ crosstrek, send an email to stoked@heleoutdoors.com and I can share a picture of the frame loaded up in one from when we were doing our fitment tests at Subaru. They are great vehicles! :)
I wish the top frame telescoped. Would be perfect for my Promaster City passenger if I didn't have to use the full length of the bed. Great looking product for everyone else though.
The lowest setting (floor to top of frame) is 8 1/2 inches. This is to accommodate the storage case. We prioritized storage in our design knowing how quickly vehicles can fill up (especially on longer trips) A shorter set of legs that you can purchase are in the works - but there isn’t a timeline set in stone for their release yet!
We sold out WAY faster than anticipated, which resulted in the back orders. They'll ship out by late November, more details will be provided as we get closer to the date 🤙
Ok , would the Hele box work in Honda odyssey? I’m actually looking for some thing that will clear the middle seats when they’re folded over so I don’t have to take them out.
There is a video on the website that explains they are in the process of getting a formal weight test done for the product, so they are not allowed to publish a weight rating yet until that process is finished. But he does put himself and another person on the bed (+300 lbs) and it is very rigid with no flexing, bending or wobble.
Great to see the innovation. Not great seeing REI "acquiring" ideas for product design. I don't buy much from REI anymore and I'm happy to see any competition they have. Your Helebox is more of a KISS (keep it simple...) design which is better IMHO.
Check out the website for more info on the dimensions! Also, not sure what you mean by making a box - are you talking about making a box out of wood or is there some configuration with the Trailgate I'm not familiar with? Thanks!
REI’s new version of the trailgate is so much better than the one you’re showing. The only thing I don’t like about thetrailgate is that the mattress that comes with it is to firm
Hi Murray, it looks like a promising product! Have you tested it in a Tesla Model Y SUV yet? The Model Y has been the largest selling car in the world these past few years. Like many of us, I'm looking forward to your 2-person bed extension planned for this Summer. Keep up the great work!

Great idea for the bed frame I’m liking this
Thanks for checking it out!
Really good comparison, thanks!!
Thank you for tuning in :)

Can it go any lower than what you show? I want to get my sleeping area as level as possible but with minimum headroom loss.

Update on this thread - we released the "stubbies" a few weeks ago! Your can learn more at: heleoutdoors.com/products/stubbies-car-camping
Do you have any plans to make the frame adjustable for length? I would like to have 5’ to 6’ choices ♥️ I love this! Good work!!
This is in the works. In the meantime, you can adjust the length with this configuration: ua-cam.com/video/6GaUzh9bBcY/v-deo.html
If I order today, when can I expect the item to arrive? (Website mentions back orders but date is vague). Thanks

Should work great as long as you have 6ft of relatively flat surface in your van :)
How much weight does the Hele box support? I couldn't find this information on the website. Thanks!

Thank you for the kind words :)
Run a sale and I’ll buy one of these!!
Just turned one on for memorial day! Use code "murph" at check out and get $35 off if you purchase with sleeping pad included.
the rei product you just need to make a front box to get it level. what is not mentioned for either one is the finished dimensions.

Hmm, could you send a link to the new version? I got this one 1-month ago from REI - not sure if a new version was released since this video, thanks!
@@HeleOutdoors The green one IS the new version.
@@stevenm6301 Thought so! thanks for confirming :)

This is Toyota 4runner ?
Rei cot is narrow, wobbly, heavy, uncomfortable.
It’s nice but it’s also $500… vs $244 from REI.
Yeah. And the new version from REI is solid. So no contest for bang for the buck.
@@ronin3377 I have the old 40 and just ordered the new 25 inch platform. What makes the new version better and improved?
Yikes!!!
@@Got-lander I have the same question about the newer version
@@ronin3377 The one from REI in this video **is** the new version.
Lexus RX350? Cost?
Check out the website: heleoutdoors.com for our fitment list & pricing ($399) info!!
Nice.
So it’s a cot?
What is bias?
If i was rich i would get these. Ill stick to my liytle foam mattress in my 5th gen 4runner
Both products are way over priced.
