Hey Guys, As you have probably noticed already i have updated the channel name and logo. The channel is no longer Really Random Channel it is now RRC Restoration. Just incase you were wondering why the water marks in the video still say Really Random Channel. Enjoy.
Please put subtitles in the videos, it is very useful. Thank you so much. / Por favor coloca subtitutos en los videos, es de mucha utilidad. Muchas Gracias.
So ive had a few comments from a few of you rather concerned that i appear to just slap the timing belts on without checking the timing, So i would just like to clarify that this engine was timed up and set to all its factory markings and double checked before the belts were fitted so theres no need to panic its all good! haha.
This ducati motor restoration that you do is very very detailed from the engine block frame and also every part of the bolt nut. wow, the old motorbike is just like new again. which certainly requires hard work and also takes a lot of time to do old motorbike restoration. maybe the ducati motor parts rarely sell. I'm very impressed with your work. Nice vlog dude 👍👍👍 📷🎥.
You're doing phenomenal work, and I love that you're leaving the sound of the Snap On torque wrench - it's a happy sound for me. As for the timing, dude, we know you got this.
Fair enough point I was too but it's not hard to see you know what your doing. But just a recommendation ! A whole vid on how you done your timing and on how to make sure the engine is on the right stroke tdc's and setting tappets that kind of thing maybe like me you don't like to talk much. But in all honesty your doing a phenomenal job love watching her come back to life. Any offers on her yet lol.
Your editing of these videos is absolutely bang on. Ive watched so many that either talk too much or have really annoying music or miss out various bits of the restoration. And what a great bike to restore. Keep this material coming fella and keep up the good work 👍
This has got to be the best Restoration yet, I love all your videos but this one is just special. Happy new year to you, wishing you all the success you so rightly deserve and I hope 2020 sees your channel grow beyond all expectations and more. Looking forward to the next instalment. Take care, Rich.
A bike I never cared to buy new or used. Not even interested in trying one, but I would buy yours with eyes shut. In fact, any bike you work on are worthy of interest.
Man u got me hooked I thought i was gonna see the whole restoration done Kept on searching for part 4 then I realized you posted 3.5 a week ago Your channel is educational and in a way satisfying to watch things get restored Subscribed & turn on the alert Keep up the good work !!!
Plz dont get me wrong. Ilovethis series of Videos, but it itches, if i see you putting so much time and love into this and then seeing you putting dirty bolts back in (i know i am a weirdo that way). But as always, good Job and i cant wait you telling us how its driving!! keep it on mate!
Where do you find all the Torque specs. Do you just use the universal grade specs for M8, M12 etc. or do you have a service manual for every bike you restore?
Hi, I get all the torque specs from manufacturers data and service manuals or if manufacturer data isn't available i will use my best judgement from years of experience.
Lovely jovely.... happy new year. Love your high quality vids, your clear sense of humor and crafstmenship. Keep it going!!! Love, Ruud from the Netherlands
Great work! I really love your videos, Ive learnt so much, and this really makes me want to tackle a "vintage" Ducati. Also thanks for no annoying music! 10/10!
I take my hat off to you sir, a worthy restoration of a very special motorcycle. Wishing you and yours a happy and prosperous new year. Enjoy a wee dram to celebrate Hogmanay.
Thanks for sharing the last one for this year, i can not wait to see the result when its finished. So i wish you a happy and healthy new year, and good luck for 2020!
Astonishing job!!! Would love to see a bit more detail particularly on the various paints you used on the engine (heat proof?) looks beautiful though. Can I also congratulate you on totally ‘demystifying’ the whole belt change and tension process. With Ducati’s it essential this is done regularly, and lots of potential owners are put off by this, as a difficult and expensive process. Clearly it’s not for any half competent/keen amateur mechanic. Well done!
Utterly stunning work and superb attention to detail my friend. I hope you had a great Christmas and may I wish you good health and happiness for the coming new year. 😊
@@RRCRestoration.I had a cracking Christmas thank you. I'd have a perfect new year if I could get my hands on your recipe for nut and bolt restoration. 😃👍🏻
So good. Wow that engine looks amazing ! Always so nice to see the front sprocket area so fresh. Watching content like this takes my stress away. Thank you again for sharing ! Cheers
That's it ! Don't touch another thing on it. Just mount it side on to a big satin black painted slab of aluminum checker plate and attach it to the wall as a piece of modern art !!!!! It looks friggin' gorgeous ! :)
Awesome job...it's really coming together now. Can't wait to see to see the completed bike and hear that unique Ducati sound 👌Wishing you a Happy and healthy 2020. ATB from sunny Malaysia
It's looking amazing. I need to change the belts on my '04 Monster 620 soon, and I think I will do it myself, so this video was very helpful letting me know what I'm in for.
Thank you very much :), Go for it the 2 valve engines arent that scary to do belts on its the 4v engines that are scary lol. But if you are in any doubt about doing it get yourself a Haynes manual they are great for jobs like that ;)
It's hard to believe that's the same engine LOL. IT LOOKS SO GOOD NOW LOL. Great job bro!! Happy new year to you and your family, all the best for 2020!! 👊🏼
Have you considered building a vapor blasting cabinet? Look up these videos. A vapor blasting cabinet (water plus aggregate mixed with compressed air), would be perfect for your restorations. We’d love to see your take on building your own system.
Hi RRC Sir another bit ticked of, she is coming together, will be a peach when your done with it, I take it you will be having a wee dram for Hogmanay, ATB Wayne.
Nice to see you again sir ;), Yup its all starting to come together now. i can see the light at the end of the tunnel haha. Of course ;) haha Happy new years to you when it comes.
I really enjoy viewing this entire project. Just curious, outside of the satisfaction, viewership, and etc., would it make economic sense if someone did a similar project minus videography and YT? Again, not that it matters, just curious. Haven’t owned a bike in a long time, so I don’t know the value. Regardless, I am glad it is being done and shared.
Hi glad your enjoying the project. From a value side of things this project is totally uneconomical the money time and resources going into this project far outweigh its monetary value so if you were doing this sort of project to make money on the bike you'd be at a loss, but if you were doing it for the love of restoring bikes ( like i am ) then you cant put a price on your passion :)
Didn't show setting the timing Mark's and getting both pistons at tdc be carefull mate putting the belts on is easy setting the timing has to be perfect the belt tension should be adjusted by useing a tuning fork and you twang the belt it resonates at a certain frequency
@John wright, Yes you are correct the timing always needs to be set as you will have piston to valve contact otherwise. The engine was set to all the Ducati timing marks before fitting the belts so i know 100% that this engine is perfectly in time. If anyone is tackling timing belts on any engine and thinks its simply a case of slipping the old belts off and putting new ones on without setting the timing then they shouldn't be doing the job in the first place.
First of all, I want to congratulate you for the wonderful work, it's magnificent! I take this opportunity to ask you if I can contact you in any way because I should do a similar job on my bike and would like some suggestions Thanks if you answer me, congratulations again
