- We live off the grid in the woods of Tennessee and share our Journey building a homestead from scratch. We show the good times and the bad, the mistakes we make and the ideas that don't work out. We try to show you all the obstacles we face and how we overcome them. After leaving the city to move off the grid we soon learned that this lifestyle was not as easy as some youtubers make it seem. In this vlog we say goodbye to our best friend, Get our Off Grid Shower finally working, make a salve from Jewel Weed and get a new pond dug. Join us for another look into our lives on this journey building a home in the woods.

I don't know if they grow in your area, but a dogwood tree would be perfect. I am so sorry for your loss. Keep taking care of each other!
Blossom rot on the tomatoes can be fixed by adding calcium. Black lites at night help find horn worms on the tomato plants.
srry for the loss it sucks i know, prayers for yens
My friends I am just now watching this. Three weeks late. I don’t know the story and don’t want you to relive but if nelly was lost for barking at chickens then that is WRONG WRONG WRONG. I am beyond heartbroken for you. She was so beautiful and such a sweet baby. I’m so damn sorry! Sending love and hugs to you both! Garden looking good and can’t wait to see the new pond! Great idea!!! ❤
tomatoes have blossom end rot from lack of calcum, crushed eggs shells work at the base of the plants
I’m sorry for your loss, our fur babies are so much of a part of our lives, they take a piece of us when they go. As for the tomatoes, they might need calcium. I used to have dark spots on my tomatoes, several years ago I started crushing egg shells, putting them around my tomato plants.
Ánimo y como decís….. seguir avanzando. 💪
Sorry about yalls loss.
Thank you
So sorry to hear about your dog. She was beautiful!!!! I'm glad your back. I really enjoy ur videos. Take care!!!

We missed everyone as well. It feels good to be back
Sorry for your loss…. 🙏

Big hugs to you two. So happy about the shower. Thank you Sean for the conversation yesterday. It made our day even better. We bought our forever home with Landstruck yesterday. We made it back to Michigan today. Already missing Tennessee. Candy and Rick
Nelly was a good girl, RIP. Jess looks like she has gained a little, she looks fantastic!!!! you guys are amazing!!!!
Looking good still 💜
😁❤️ Thanks
Hey guys, as far as the tomato issue, thats usually Aphids, Hornworms, and spider mites. They are the ones that burrow into acidic varieties of vegetables. Natural solutions include planting garlic, leeks, dill, cilantro, and marigolds between/around the tomato plants because the smell is a natural deterrent and keep weeds cut down. Happy harvesting!
I know how you feel I lost my bull dog three years ago and it still hurts , miss her every day, take care!!!!!!!!
I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of your dog, every time losing a furry friend is heart ,wrenching because they bring so much joy and live to our loves .please know I’m thinking of you and sending you a lot of love and comfort .
So sorry for your loss. 😢
Praying for comfort and peace.
🙏❤️👍👍👍
One of the hardest parts in life is losing your dog they're your best friend and they give you unconditional love I lost mine this year he was my best friend he was just a little Chihuahua he used to sleep with me every night and it took him three weeks to pass on I had to watch him suffer because I couldn't afford veterinarian bills and I couldn't put him down I'll put dogs down before and it just doesn't go away I will never get another dog because I'm not going to watch another dog die and I can't afford bet bills so I'm just gonna stay away from that you never forget it's a little easier but every time you think of them the tears come😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
🤞🏻
Check out blossom-end rot for the tomatoes.
So happy to see your guys back and once again sorry for your loss 🙏 l just love all of the garden and all the wonderful vegetables and herbs you are growing you sure have a green thumb amazing 😍 Things are coming along got yourself a🚿 shower and nice tub😊!!! Until you next video stay safe stay strong and may god watch over you on this amazing journey called life 🙏❤️✌🏼
Plant some azalea bushes they bloom 3 seasons out of a year
What about planting a Nelly Moser Clematis. They are very beautiful look delicate but are tough.
sorry about Nelly
So sorry to hear about your furbaby. The tomatoes you picked were still good just cut out the bad spots, but if you don't want to eat them then save the seeds from them. Just don't eat a tomatoes that has gone soured.
Sorry about Nelly . Wildflowers would be beautiful where she is at rest .
Oh no so sorry. I’ve been suffering from poison ivy all week. Tried everything. Doesn’t seem to be getting better. UGH
I'm late responding to your tomato problem. I watch on my TV so I can't comment. But here it is: "Blossom end rot
A common physiological disorder caused by a calcium imbalance in the plant. It can be caused by too much or too little water, drought, heavy rainfall, or an erratic watering schedule. Black spots on the bottom of the tomato are a symptom of blossom end rot."
I would remove the affected plants before spread and don't compost them. Your problem was probably sporadic watering. It looks like plants are very close and there isn't enough air movement between plants. It's a fungus and will spread to other plants. Clean off gloves and tools before touching other plants.
Black spot, also commonly known as early blight or target spot, is a serious fungal disease affecting vegetables belonging to the Solanaceae family. Disease hosts include tomatoes, potatoes, capsicums and eggplants. Outbreaks are favoured by warm, wet growing conditions and yield losses can be significant."
"Some best practices for tomatoes can help prevent black spots, including:
Consistent irrigation
Well-drained soil
Watering the soil instead of the leaves from above
Pruning plants to allow airflow at the base
Promptly disposing of debris, and not composting it, as any surviving fruit tissue may carry spores"
It was so unnecessary what happened to Nelly 💔
Big hugs to you both
🙂👍🙏
Your tomato issue could be a squirrel Or a bird I have been fighting with them for my tomatoes… good luck

Thanks bud
Why is it so hot in the dome? Where is your air conditioner?
Is the floor to your house all set the insulation
❤🩹
I'm so sorry about your dog there more than pets. Also, I see you use almond milk it takes 400 gallons of water to make one gallon, while cow milk it takes 5 gallons of water.
Sorry for your loss, but your the only one to blame. Great videos keep them coming.b
You don't pronounce the "L" in salve.
so glad your garden is thriving , and your water harvesting is progressing , as you should have as many different ways to harvest water as you can.
so glad to see you smiling again.
as a friend once said to me every time you feel down about losing someone, just remember the joy they added to your life and the smiles will come back.
sadly death is a part of life .
so happy your water pump and shower works . it changes your emotions so fast when things start working, how they should,
love n hugs for you both

Just watched this and wanted to comment on the tomatoes. The holes could be caused by a few different things but from experience I personally think its fruit worms, they are a pain. I don't use pesticides, and I don't recommend it either but that's just me. Although I do recommend planting basil near your tomato plants , it helps repel hornworms and other pest. I'm not expert but it works for me lol And by the way , that was my husband that built your pond, it does look real good. 😊 Has it started filling up yet, I know we've got some rain here lately.
Crow told me about your dog, I hated hearing that, my heart goes out to you both ❤
Thanks!
