Every head of hair is different! It’s not always heat damaged!
I don’t think it’s heat damage. I noticed after a certain time and length natural hair changes curl pattern from the pattern being trained with repeated styles, from it retaining moisture, & from the weight of length stretching it out. Everyone’s different though.
Can't see the damage, looks healthy. It happens to us all. You might have had a tiny bit of oils of your hair when using your irons. You know how to fix it ❤
I'm pretty sure this is the first time I've ever commented on one of these videos. I just lurk for no reason because I obviously don't need to be here, don't even have mixed kids, but I've seen other white women (who don't have mixed kids either , so why, Becky?) trying to give "advice" and opinions in this space, and it boggles my mind. Aside from that, though, the 20-teens circa ladies on UA-cam DO take it verrrry seriously, so I get your point. Your hair's gorgeous though.
I have heat damage in the front of my hair too. I got my hair straightened one time for the first time since being natural (for my graduation pictures so I could wear the tam easier) and maybe it was the ten passes she did with various hot on a and flat irons but the front is the most visibly damaged. I shrugged it off but the fact that it’s the front was offensive 😭
I shave my head everytime I damage it... it grows right tf back better each time... I get an inch of growth a month soooo it's cool. (I don't do anything special, it's genetics maybe)

Gurl that kinda happen to me too!! I barely use my natural hair so I kinda don’t mind but I went to do a sew in at the salon and they flat iron my hair w a very strong flat iron, I was even impressed on how flat my hair was on 1 time she passed, few days after I washed my hair and it was damaged 🙃
So let me be the first to say it, when you’re natural and you straighten your hair it will not always bounce right back to the curls!!! I straighten my hair at least 3-4 a year and sometimes it takes two separate wash days to get my curls back! Could be the water, could be the shampoo, or maybe my hair has a mind of its own!
You know how to fix it ❤
Basically you where able to fix your mistakes, like that for yu, I learned too moisturize my hair more and I taught myself how to braid
try using apple cider vinegar to help it bounce back
Man I was in Spain and had to buy a flat iron there…I fried my shit 😢took a year for my hair to be back to normal
What is this shower 🚿 head??Love it!!
The way the curls came back though 👏🏽 I meann I think we need to be focused on the products lol its just hair y'all gee whiz
Can you share how you fixed it? That's amazing!
I honestly have never been so dumbfounded by a person’s beauty. This why I be questioning my sexuality
I shave my head everytime I damage it... it grows right tf back better each time... I get an inch of growth a month soooo it's cool. (I don't do anything special, it's genetics maybe)
The natural hair community can be very cult like.
The natural hair community is so toxic. The obsession with humbling women who experiment with their hair and them feeling like they’re little cosmetologists who have all the information about natural hair and the rest of us are stupid? I do whatever I want with my hair. It’s gonna grow back at the end of the day.
Keep up with deep conditioning n keep it pushing. Its not bone straight, it might bounce back
This happened to me with HD at the roots. It took forever to grow out because I had long hair. The worst part was when it finally got to the end. It’s almost gone now.
That Cécred reconstructing mask really got my heat damaged tresses together. I’m not going back!! lol
How do you fix heat damage or do you have to cut it off??
It doesn’t appear unless you've been using heat. Remember to use a heat protectant before using heat.
You could turn off the tap while you massage your hair. Water is a valuable resource that is depleting.
