Tom Jones was THE best male artist to come out of the British invasion. I remember coming home from school one day and my mom excitedly telling me about hearing some guy on the radio "with a dreamy voice". When he showed up on TV she swooned (along with millions of other ladies). Fast forward 35 years later - Las Vegas. We were there and he was performing. Naturally I bought tickets and took mom to the show. Tom Jones sounded GREAT and mom - well - I thought she was going to pass out. Her eyes glazed over and she was fixated on Tom for the next couple of hours. Btw....I have never seen another performer do such extended sets. I felt breathless and exhausted just watching him perform. It was an awesome show. My mom talked about that one for many, many years. She passed away this past summer and I miss her dearly. Every time I hear Tom Jones sing I'm reminded of
that Vegas trip. 💖💖💖

The writer of this song was Lonnie Donnegan. When Tom Jones was doing The Voice , the son of the writer turned up to audition and the crowd ask Tom jones and Lonnie donnegan’s son to sing it together. And they just do it without rehearsal etc. Tom still performs and has a great voice even tho he is nearly 80. Watch it on you tube, even if it is just for yourselves.

We took her to the doctors’ & they’ve given her the all-clear & our “baby to be” is still healthy as well. Some much needed “R & R” has been prescribed for her before she heads off on maternity leave in a few months. Even our dog has been helping me look after her as he wants to help look after his beloved mamma. I hope you & “Mr Producer” are both well 🤞😄🤞

We’ve got an “E.T.A.” of mid September, sometime between the 14th & the 21st, but there’s always a chance that the little one may come early so we’re getting her checked into the hospital for the 1st week of September, just to cover our bases 🤞😄🤞. Everyone we know STILL want to know what we’re having but we’re waiting until “D - Day” (delivery day) to find out. As long as the little one has everything intact & where it’s supposed to be.... WE’LL BE HAPPY PARENTS!!! ✌️😁👌🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺

One time Tom appeared on a TV show or something like that, and the host (might have been Johnny Carson or somebody like that) asked him: "Tom, how can you possibly sing with so much control and yet with so much power? How is that even possible?" And Tom replied: "Everybody from Wales sings like that." And he wasn't exaggerating. The singing talent from Wales is astonishing. No singer from that country is afraid to 'belt it out'.

Tom Jones is the best male singer/performer we have ever seen. He had professional song writers write his songs which helped him reach great heights. Professional song writers should make a comeback - they write the best songs.

other songs that were more popular, but this one shows his God given talent and they way he projects his emotion, makes you feel that he went through real heartache. Reading more about him, he was quite a ladies man, breaking hearts as he went in life.

Yeah Drew he was populare back in the day! My Grandmother was Welsh to Can she came Canada when in her mid- twenties! I used to watch his TV show together she loved him! He had a TV show in Vancouver B.C ( Canada) for 2 or 3 years, had Cher and a lot of the big Star from back then! He was Friends with Elvis and Elvis said I’d he had the best male voice At that time ! My Mom use to get so embarrassed when Grandma would carry on about Tom Jones. I got to like him as well! My name was Tom too and I sang a bit and She said would say I was just as good and just as handsome! Of coarse I wasn’t but it made me feel Special! I'm American but lived in England, my mother's homeland, (from 1964, when I was 7, until 1975) and watched Tom Jones' TV variety show over there (decades before he joined The Voice UK.) Am only now beginning to really appreciate the singers I heard on TV and radio when I was a kid. My wife is a major Tom Jones fan; Internet video demonstrates he can and does still sing like that, even in concert, though the Elvis-like hip-swiveling he did in more upbeat numbers has understandably (as mentioned he's now in his 80s) is long retired. I gather he and Elvis (who BTW died on my 21st birthday in 1977) were friends. Tom Jones was a big name in the UK back then; he's from Wales. Thanks for this.
