Hello from Canada. This bags layout is the most ideal. Front useable pockets that is not a black hole, water bottle pockets, clamshell, separate laptop compartment, compression straps... This bag is such a winner. But it sure is pricey.
I think it's a case of you get what you pay for. It "feels" its price, that's for sure. I've handled a lot of bags and this one doesn't feel overpriced to me even at the price it is.
Check out the LBT 22l Day Pack (London Bridge Trading) it’s a clamshell, dual water bottle pocket, made in the USA bag for $200. With that company it pays to look under the “Sale” section because they are always doing deals and you can save a lot of money if you catch one. The downside for the bag is no dedicated laptop compartment.
I have a bag from them (not clamshell but bottle pockets and the front is almost the exact same as this Citadel) but the quality feels a serious step down from this GWA in my opinion.
Thanks for another thoughtful review. The straps thing comes up a lot with this bag. For some, it is the placement or how close they are together. It seems to be mentioned with this bag more than most. The lack of a false bottom on the laptop area seems like such a simple thing to fix. Much like TBB it just seems to be a miss that is correctible especially when you are iterating on the bag. The final comment is just the difficulty in getting them. I see they are issuing a Dyneema version this week but it is without the laptop area so nonstarter for me.
Yeah, I was a little bummed about the laptop bit being not included on the shortbus version :/ I really don't find the straps that bad they are average to maybe slightly above average. Just not GREAT.
While I did not get a dyneema version, the dyneema version of the citadel micro does have a laptop compartment. It's just not a separate compartment. It is in the main pocket just behind the 2 velcro bands.
@@jtinseoul7041 I only remembered because GWA kinda emphasized on their video that Tweave's freaking expensive hahaha but, dang, does it feel nice to the touch?
Loved the tom quote lol. This one has Been on my radar but usually gets bumped by other deals. Definitely more interested now. I was also a bit grief stricken when you moved that twix out of the picture. I mean wheel of fortune had vanna. Anyways solid video as usual brethren great work!
Great reviews! Just wondering, have you seen the new Orbit Gear’s Sharpshooter? It looks like a serious contender for Goruck GR1 and 24HR Battalion combined. The price is also around $159. It would be great to check the built quality of it, though. Thanks
Great video as always. I hate to do this, but can you tell me the garment bag that you use for dirty clothes? You said it was a little costly in an old video. Also, the laptop magnetic sleeve. I just didn’t want to go back and watch every video. I think I’ve seen most of them, so I can’t remember when you showed them off. Lol
The dirty clothes thing is the Porter Yoshida stuff sack. It's around $100 in the states I've heard. The laptop sleeve, is the Nedrelow. There's a link in the description. It's great, I LOVE it.
Very cool stuff, their upcoming dyneema drop for the citadel micro looks pretty sweet too! I have yet to have any bags made with that material. Relating to dyneema, have you ever interacted with Rofmia gear? It looks very cool and was curious if you had ever used their stuff. I was looking at the shift daypack v2 on their site, although it obviously seems on the more premium end of gear, looks cool! Hope you are well.
Big bummer for me that they ditched the bottle pockets on the Dyneema one. I've tried some Rofmia bags. I find them to be okay, but, much prefer Porter from a Japanese bag maker point of view.
@@jtinseoul7041 ah gotcha, makes total sense. Oh right I saw your video on the porter and it did look sweet. I think if cash is going to be dropped on something that nice, it better be awesome ha. Hopefully I’ll get my hands on some type of dyneema bag eventually . Years ago MW commented they were experimenting with it, hopefully that will come to fruition in the future but will see!
They are similar, I would say the A19 feels a little tighter on the build quality front and less floppy. They are similar in design though. I prefer the GWA bottle pockets and compression strap style.
I just picked up a Gen 3 slick version off Carryology and I cannot wait to try it out

Nice comparison of the tactical differences between the Litespeed. Those patches are awesome. Awesome vid, thanks!
I like the Litespeed too, but I live in a place where I can rock that at the office no problem. I don't think everyone else is so lucky.
Great review. It’s been a year l, looking to sell it ? Lol they are hard to come by :-)
Another top notch “review”. Thanks!
Thanks dude!
Looove that Tweave fabric, too :D
Glad someone knows the name of it, haha.
@@jtinseoul7041 I only remembered because GWA kinda emphasized on their video that Tweave's freaking expensive hahaha but, dang, does it feel nice to the touch?
Twasnt sure what it was called either
Another great review. Thanks for the reminder! I always forget those bottom pockets on the front mesh are stretchyyy. Enjoy dude!
haha, man it's one of my favourite parts of this bag!
@@jtinseoul7041 finally ordered one. can't wait to try it.
Such a beautiful bag!
Certainly. is!

@@jtinseoul7041 great video! be careful of using the laptop on the wool sleeve though, might block the laptop vents and make it overheat
I don't tend to use a laptop for more than 15 minutes at a time during any given day so think I'll be aight.

the two hottest pouches right now!
I know ha. Everyone keeps offering to trade me one for the other so figured I had to show them together ;P
How does this compare to the Alpha One Niner Evade?

This might be an odd comparison, but I was wondering how you like this bag compared to your gr2 26?
I would say it's a lot more similar to a GR1 26L.
Want!
