Last week I bought a 2023 4Runner Trd off road premium. 400 miles on it :) I’m wondering how much noise increase it was on the highway and what the gas mileage reduction was.
To me, I thought it was quieter and couldn’t tell if there was a mileage reduction. It handles better, looks better and performs better. If I ever buy 4Runner again, I would upgrade immediately and sell my stock tire to offer up.
Yes I put ko-2's 6 ply on my new 22 trd pro recently. Took my first highway trip this past week to the coast Mendocino and back 400 miles, the tires did well on highway, will be testing offroad in Nevada next. I have run these k0's for yrs on my Tacoma, however they were 8 ply tread and 3 ply sidewall which are no longer available, grrrr, now its no choice so I went the 6 ply 2 ply sidewall. Should be fine. Extra heavy lugs on sidewalls should ward off the sharp rocks when offroad. The E range would be way too much for a 4runner I think.
Hi, really nice! You mentioned your friends’s 4Runner was not as smooth-riding. Does his have KDSS? What tires did he have? Thanks again for sharing your experiences.
@@TacticalExpeditionhello! Hey i just got a ko2 e1. I traded my stock oem wheels and tires. I didn’t know the difference between e1 and c1. I don’t do a lot of off roading, if I do it’s easy trail. Do you think I should be good with e1? Because it’s already installed on my 4runner
Personal preference- some like it shiny like a glazed donut (for show) vs the matte (subtle) black. Regular maintenance would be to clean the tires - this allows you to keep up with visual inspection wear and tear. Would you continue to drink whiskey in a dirty shot glass (just to look cool?). Take care of your equipment - then the equipment will take care of you. Neglect is not a good excuse just so you can look like a bad boy.
Just put these tires on 2010 4 runner SR5 stock size, asked the mechanic if they balanced ok he said yes no problems, getting wheel shake at about 105km and then it goes away
@@chrisk4617 you should get your wheels road force balanced by someone that knows what they are doing. it's usually install-error if you're having vibrations and the tire/rim aren't warped. not all tire installers are equally skilled :).
great looking truck! I see you got the LT tire rating and I am wondering what you use for PSI for normal road driving ? Any more than the usual PSI printed on the door jam ?
I'm glad you asked this question, because I was just wondering the same thing. Did you end up getting these tires, and have you noticed any road noise.?
@@Theyralltakenfu No I did more research and decided I wanted tires that were quieter on the hiways and better wet / rain ratings. I went with Pirelli AT plus and have to say I quite happy with them. Turned out to be a great tire for my 4Runner. I dont go 4wheeling too often and these are just fine for the terrain I hit in the northeast with the exception of deep mud.
How do they affect your MPG?

@@TacticalExpeditionthanks! You just cost me 2,000 dollars! Lol
But you can sell the stock tires on offer up to make up little money 👍🏼

Yes. You are right. I got the c load (I think… the cheaper one). If I went off-roading more often, I would’ve got the E-Load.
What tire would you recommend now it's been some time thanks
I would buy KO2 only. Nothing else. 👍🏼
How do they perform in the rain. A lot of reviews about trouble in water
@chrisjohnson178 I worked better than the stock tires. 👍🏼
So true, upgrades are expensive. I’ll be using my stock tires for the first year before upgrading.
Also, you can sell your used tire on offer-up and just upgrade now. 👍🏼
Does the spare fit in the usual spare spot below? Or you had to opt for a tire carrier?
spare fit underneath. i carried both the spare and the full size spare when i went overlanding and offroading.
Could I swap my limited wheels and tires for these??I have a 2018 limited
I believe you can. BFG is must get tires
Good video! Nice ride.
Did you have any issues with balancing the tires or the steering wheel shaking/vibrating?
No. After I switched the tires, it went away. Weird. Now, I sold my 4runner and got Taycan. 👍🏼
Nice! Very different than 4runner. So the KO2 did give you issues?
@@airup1275 no. It actually made it better and fixed the issue. 👍🏼
What psi you running?
35

He doesn’t have KDSS
Have you ever had a load range E bfgoodrich tire for your 4runner?
No. I wasn’t a serious off roader and didn’t need the heavier E Load.

Do you have the E range with 10 ply tread 3 ply sidewall or do you have the 6 ply tread 2 ply sidewall?
Are you talking about Toilet Paper? 🤣🤣🤣 I use 4 ply luxury wipes.
Hahaha. It was 2 ply sidewalls. 3 is too heavy.
What PSI do you run it at? Tks for the VDO.
I run it at 33psi. 👍🏼
I have the trd wheels on mine also (17x7). What size tires did you wrap yours in and were the any issues with fitment
ua-cam.com/video/oSJMq5LDvDQ/v-deo.html
Do you have a lift kit on or is that stock?
It’s stock TRD Pro shocks. 👍🏼
What side steps are those?
It's the genuine Toyota TRD steel side steps that came with the car as an option.
Hi buddy, thanks for the video,I'm thinking of putting these on my Amarok,Did you say your rims are 7 inches wide?
the tire is about 8.5"
Why are people saying not to shine your tires ? I thought it’s good bc it prevents from cracking
Viewers wants to see dirty shitty looking car. 🤣🤣🤣

Very good explanation. I sold my 4Runner. So sad 🥲
The off road ground clearance at 9.5 inches stock?
9.7 maybe more on the trd pro
I’ve heard balancing issues with those tires. Have you experience and shaking or vibrations at high speeds?
I’ve had vibration issues with stock tires but went away with installing KO2s.
Only tire I'll trust in the back country of Death Valley in the summer.
I should’ve upgraded from day-1 👍🏼
Why did you not go with 275 70 17R ?
I just wanted same size as the stock tire but with better tread. I love it.
Wow. This is my dream car, I’m hoping to find a used one on car max sometime in the near future. Keep up the great content.
Hahaha.
Have you found one yet?
Mine was sold to Carmax Los Angeles and it was sold all the way to Minnesota. 🤣🤣
Are those rims grey or matte black?
Original matte black
Thank you they look nice 👍🏻
Thank you. Only thing is that this rim is so thin. Only 7”. I wish it was wider.
What is your psi set at front and back!
I set it to 35 normal driving. Off road to 15-20.
Hi. Any vibration on the highway ? 50 mph plus
No vibration.
Just put these tires on 2010 4 runner SR5 stock size, asked the mechanic if they balanced ok he said yes no problems, getting wheel shake at about 105km and then it goes away
Also pulling to the right a little, but they do feel better over all then the all season Michelin’s I had

@@wat2875 I brought it back and they put them on the road force machine and they are perfect now, so yes the mechanic was the issue
what do you run for psi
Just stock psi when I had 4Runner. I sold it 😥
where did you get running board?
It was the steel tube from Toyota. It’s nice but it’s not a rock slider.
Looks nice to me, without the wider off-road tires..
I just got the same size tires. With KO2, it raised slightly because of aggressive treads.
Are you using wheel spacers?
No I’m not. 👍🏼
Gotta rotate the 5th wheel also.
Damn. I haven’t done that. 🤭
Definitely and you’ll get more miles total before needing replacements.
Is there a reason you keep the spare tire in the back instead of underneath location?
It’s impossible to get it out from underneath if the car gets trapped in the sand or mud with flat tire.
Nice video as always. One question, how much miles do you have in your tires?
About 30,000…
@@TacticalExpedition They look pretty new to me.
What tire carrier ?
Detours of maine
I subbed as i own a trdor with ko2, into guns, into beaches hahaha
Damn. I thought I was the only one 🤣🤣🤣🤣
What Load are these KO2? C or E?
C. Because it was lighter.
as far as comfort on regular road which tire was more comfortable drive the stock Nitto or the BF's?
To me, BFGs. So nice.
Nice trucks from what I've heard 👌
I pre-ordered Cybertruck. I wonder if it fits in my garage. 🤣🤣
@@TacticalExpedition yeah I might've checked that first LMAO.
great looking truck! I see you got the LT tire rating and I am wondering what you use for PSI for normal road driving ? Any more than the usual PSI printed on the door jam ?
I do exactly what it says on the door panel. 🤣🤣

Your friend's OffRoad, does it have KDSS?
No. I don’t think so.
Tires dated A721 there not even a year old?🤔
What’s that code?
Good video as always brother I got your six
Thank you. 👍🏼
great video! would these fit on a 13’ Toyota Corolla????
Yes. I will show it to you. 🤣🤣🤣 Next Video straight from Downtown.
What mpg are u getting after putting these KO2’s?
Overall is 15-16MPG. I was getting that when I had stock tires. 👍🏼
Great tires. They look pretty new for 30k miles.
Right. It’s nice to have nice looking tires and it doesn’t even wear out.
Tires dated A721
A date code is four numbers the first two being the week the last two being the year of manufacture.
Not a car
It’s a truck baby. 🤣
