      drumtecTV can’t wait for that my man! I still hate my Alesis strike kick. It double triggers badly, and can get it to latch correctly to my demon drives.

    Got to say just watching you play makes my poor old arthritic hands and feet ache.
    As an early adopter of Electronic drums OMG do I remember them old simmonds pads, hitting them felt like trying to knock seven bells out of a builders skip and that stupid thing that only made one descent noise (heard it in “ring my Bell” so every covers band with a girl singer had to have one).
    Today’s kits with real feel playing surfaces are a real joy...shame I had to retire but still I got to take a few early Roland kits on the road.
    Whilst modern Edrums are much improved I still think the technology has a bit of a way to go to catch up with the developments made in guitar and keyboard fields.
    Oops this was intended to simply compliment you on your playing ability but somehow just turned into the nostalgic ramblings of an ageing drummer in the twilight of his years.
    Best wishes and yes I just subscribed

      The player's got chops, and the kit looks great, but.........the sounds come from the brain! Pair that module, with a far less expensive kit, such as an Alesis or similar, and it would sound exactly the same. There's no benefit to having acoustic shells paired with an electronic module, other than so called "stage presents" which I seriously doubt anyone in the audience notices very much or cares about........

    • @drumtecTV
      @drumtecTV  5 років тому +7

      @@dougcatuogno4603 Hi & thank you. Did you have the chance to test an Alesis pad side by side with a drum-tec, Roland or ATV pad yet? Although the sound per se comes from the module as you say, the physical & electronical behaviour of your pads/triggers will play a significant role in the complete chain, and affect the way your playing "comes out" on the other side drastically (nuances, dynamics, rebound, realistic feel etc). The acoustic look of the drum-tec pads for sure is a positive "side effect", but it´s all about high quality trigger systems, playability, feel & ergonomics in the first place (not to mention component & production quality last but not least). So having played pretty much every electronic drum product that´s available on the market in the past years on a daily basis, I have to honestly disagree with your statement :) Kind regards!

    • @dougcatuogno4603
      @dougcatuogno4603 5 років тому

      @@drumtecTV I don't disagree with your point about triggering systems and nuance such as rebound varying from brand to brand, my point, was, that the cost difference between acoustic looking kits and typical electronic pads is jaw dropping. My point is that in live performance, most drummers would not be able to justify spending many thousands more, simply for the cosmetics. I say this having a background in live performance, recording and musical retail experience for more than 60 yrs. Having said that, your point is taken and you have a beautiful product.

    • @drumtecTV
      @drumtecTV  5 років тому +1

      @@dougcatuogno4603 As said above Doug, it´s not only a cosmetic difference, but a huge difference in production quality, functionality/playability/trigger systems that make the price so different, they are not only "acoustic looking". That´s why I suggested to test all brands side by side, says more than a thousand words :) Kind regards!

      @@MarkuzP66 :-) The amount of room/OH in the module mix has a huge effect on the kit sounds I guess. Apart from that, there has been no further editing/mixing, I always record the audio directly from the module´s stereo output with only some minor compression/limiting to bring up the volume level. Kind regards!

    Snare has that awful machine gun sound.

    • @drumtecTV
      @drumtecTV  5 років тому +7

      Hi David, cannot agree on this, as the SSD5 sample library that´s triggered from the module uses round robin samples to avoid this exact phenomenon. I have done dozens of demos with the Mimic Pro module until now, and have never had the impression, that the dynamics sound unnatural or "machine gunny" at all. Especially when compared to other sound module alternatives. Kind regards
