@@GlennMainMusic me too. Following you now 😉 you have nice studio and great work. Wished i could do that. Loved the 80s and 90s music, best ever so love these synths and rythms. Getting a MC 707 tomorrow and will try the same with my tyros keyboard. (Used to have some synths longer ago but sold them 😟😟)
I’m so impressed! You have shown many newer people an old school trick that I wish Roland would’ve shown. Putting the vocal samples on the drum pads! I really wish Roland would add multi sample to the synth engine so you could put them on the keys like a normal sample. This would allow you to play with them like the V-synth does. Thanks for this! You made the synth engine prove just how good it is for a groove box!
Thanx man :-) You can actually play the drum pads on a midi keyboard, and it is mapped out like a standard drum kit on the keys :-) But a multisample pad/engine would be awsome :-)
@@GlennMainMusic Yes! I had a fantom years ago and it was my dream synth! until I tried to program things lol I hated it's system so I traded it for a V-synth with vocal card! I loved the v-synth but Roland screwed us on the V-synth with the amount of memory. The 707's synth is pretty close to the v-synth but its super saw engine doesn't sound as good as the v-synth. I'd love for them to add a true multi Sample engine even if they limited the audio stretch aspect of it.
Thank you :-) I just love that song myself. I remember I sat on my room with a Korg Poly 61 and played along with it :-) It really brings back good memories :-)
Amazing...... i would say very inspiring...... did not expect that... Your one of the best i have seen on YT on the subject of creating cover songs... ( shame you could not do a rundown on how to use and get those sounds you have )

Which quantize setting do you use?, I usually take some time to record a midi take until I get it right on the 707 (compared to Ableton live for example). Btw great version!
Hi, @glenn Main. I’m a very amateurs “musician” that only plays for himself. The musics you play is that I love (1971 born ). I also happen to have a fe high quality toys (Polybrute, Sequential Rev2, Moog Subsequent 32 and a MC-707. And now no clue to make all this work together. Also a a brain a have a Novation 49SLMKIII. FOr what I see in your video, the 707 could be this brain as well. Any suggestions for me on how to work with this toys? Also, how to you sample only the voice in this song? I really don’t know sampling. Please, help me :)
The mc707 is like a 8track sequencer, and you can exchange any of the tracks with hardware synths. There is numerous of videos explaining the sampling process on UA-cam… so I don’t want to go deeper into that… so check out the @Roland Channel… they have a 3 part info video that explains the mc 707 in detail:) 😃😃😃😃
@@GlennMainMusic Thanks, man. Your music sound great. Great inspiration to know what the MC can do. I’ll try and have it controlling my synths. By the way any chance you want to share this Don’t Go project so I could go deeper understanding how you structure it in the MC? :) I doesn’t hurt to ask
Outstanding Glenn, you are a legend at making these tracks, especially recreating the original sounds! I also have an MC-707 and hope to release a cover track soon. Do you have any tips on getting rights clearance for covers on UA-cam? Thanks
Thank you so much Thomas 😃 Regarding rights on cover you are allowed to do covers as long as you don’t change the lyrics or do drastical cord progression changes. When you upload you most probably have to give away your income for the video, meaning you can not monytize the cover song. Best practice is to respect the songwriters in form of credits and maybe add “cards” in your video to show and promote the original song. All my Jean Michel Jarre and Howard Jones covers I got mechanical rights to use :) Let me know when you release something :) Looking forward to hear your stuff 👍👍👍
@@GlennMainMusic that’s super helpful advice, thank you! I’ll let you know when I drop the video in a few weeks time, probably be just the MC-707 playing back, it’s my first track and don’t have your amazing skills to play anything in real time!
