    Many people have been asking what flaxseed gel I use. Here you are! When I first heard about flaxseed gel I automatically said I would never take the time to make it and that it probably wasn’t any good anyways. Well, 8 months into CG and here I am making flaxseed gel. I literally love it and it is the best for refresh days! 🙌🏻 Hope you all enjoy and give it a try, you might fall in love like I did!

      Just yesterday I made the same. A mess. But now my hair is softer. Did not brush. So strengths. Sorry I am Dutch.

    Some women I have spoken to about this suggest putting the seeds in the stocking and then into the water you get the same result but straining is easier. And if you freeze it in an ice cube tray you can just take what you need and it lasts longer than in the fridge.

      Layne B I tried that yesterday and the dye from the stocking leached in the gel. I’ve searched all through YT looking through a tutorial where they used the “teabag method” by booking the seeds in the stocking.

    The stockings are not needed to strain this. If you use a fine mesh strainer it will turn out perfect. That is how I did mine. No use creating more waste with the stockings.

      Amber Thistle I used a strainer and the gel seemed to get caught in all the holes. It was watery so it wasn’t really thick and hadn’t cooled. It was really hard to strain even after pushing the seeds into the strainer. Any ideas?

      My personal favorite is the nutmilk bag. In the past, if I didn’t break my stocking, I washed, dried, and reused it. I used the same stocking for a few years before trying the bag. I only use metal strainers when I have nothing else.

      Denysha Taylor I looked it up as if never heard of nut milk bags but they are made of different materials. Was yours made of cotton or nylon or ?? Can you provide a link?

      Nylon, cotton would be too absorbent.

    I loved this gel! I added lavender essential oil and it smells amazing. The gel is slimy not super thick, perfect for my hair which isn’t as thick as yours.
    Still struggling with frizz and volume but making a bit of progress trying different products. You have what I consider to be perfect curly hair! Thank you for your channel .

    I like use flaxseed gel before wash my hair, it looks very soft and helps in the definition. I already tried styling the hair with it, but it did not work, thanks for the tip, your hair is getting more beautiful every day😍😍
    Ps:You can leave the gel more liquid and use a sieve, after cold in the refrigerator, it gets very thick.

    Use a BOWL to squeeze the flax gel into. The gel will cool quicker in the bowl and you won't have gel running down the sides of the container. Use a spatula to scrape the gel into your 'fridge' container.

    Your hair looks very pretty and soft. Impressed. Would you recommend it for oily roots? My hair is very dry through mid-longer lengths from meds and hates everything I apply to it atm! Would try this, as I have flaxeeds in the house already.

    I love your hair! Also, I have been searching for a tutorial on the denman brush that involves diffusing. Every one I've seen so far involves only air drying, which I never do. Did you diffuse just like usual? Thanks again!

    • @KristynJoanne
      @KristynJoanne  5 років тому +1

      Yes! I always diffuse :) I have a couple other videos using the denman brush in my routine and I just came out with a diffusing video too! :)

    I need to make me sum of this gel!!! There r other type of ingredients u can add to it to give it more slip and other benefits.

    • @KristynJoanne
      @KristynJoanne  5 років тому

      I’ve heard vitamin e oil helps preserve it longer. I’m sure there are other things you could add but I didn’t want to put in too many oils because I didn’t want it to build up or weigh down my hair ☺️

      Amy Herndon Marshmallow Root is a good thing to add to flaxseed gel. Adds great slip. You can get Marshmallow Root at any health food shop. It comes in capsules or you can buy it loose at some herb shops.

    I wanted to like flaxseed gel but I couldn't ever get it to work for me. It didn't have enough hold and my curls always ended up fluffy/frizzy halfway through the day.
    Plus it was always such a pain to make to me.

    • @pr1nc3ssm92
      @pr1nc3ssm92 5 років тому +1

      Hi! :-)
      I read somewhere that flaxseed gel is best as a curl enhancer, underneath a firmer hold gel. I haven't tried it this way yet, but it may be worth a try...

    you should put enough in your hair so that it feels soaked. Your hair will drink it in and it won't be sticky and omg, please don't use a brush on wet hair!! Especially if you have curls

    • @salr9470
      @salr9470 5 років тому +1

      Why shouldn't you brush wet curls? Isn't it better to brush curls wet, than to brush them dry?

      I use this brush all the time to style my sons 3b hair it gives the curls more definition

    • @225kristent
      @225kristent 5 років тому

      you shouldn't brush your curls at all. If you need to detangle, do it in the shower when you put your conditioner in your hair and use a wide tooth comb

    • @225kristent
      @225kristent 5 років тому

      I guess I'll need to take a look at this brush but I don't see how a brush can add definition when it pulls at the curls

      Kristen225 there are so many videos on UA-cam on how to use it. It doesn’t work well with my 2a-2b hair but works beautiful on hair that is 3a to 4a. The curls coil up and look like you curled it with a curling iron. Try it if you have the spirally hair type. And also it works with a detangle brush as well but Denman brush has better clumps.
