They’ll swim where ever they decide is the best territory for them. Once they pair to an anemone or a coral, it doesn’t matter where it’s located, they’ll set up shop there. Power heads are often common places where clownfish like to claim, so be careful about that 😬
I know this video is old but I hope you answer most only talk about coral set ups. I have a filter, 10gal tank, thermometer and a regular light. I have a well water system a marine biologist at a local fish store tested my water he said I don’t need RODI water if I only do the clowns. He said I just mix in the salt to my well tap water. So all I need now is live rock, aquarium salt, saltwater test kit, the salinity tester and the sand right? Or am I wrong Im very confused. He said I can do 2 clowns in a 10gal but only them nothing else due to agresssion does that sound right? He sells very small baby clownfish he gets them captive bred from Los Angeles.
I only have two clown fish in my 16 gallon, i plan to eventually add hermit crabs but i was wondering if they ever get bored or need stimulation as they are the only two fish in the tank
A clown fish is never bored 😅 especially if they’re in a pair! They might love being the only fish in the tank. Just protect any LPS corals you have in the tank, they’ll rub those things to death
I’ve had a pair for 5 months now and I’m wondering how they will take adding to their home.?They mainly stay to one side of the 36 gallon bow front. Also, I have the regular top and light which I don’t run at all. Now that I want to add coral and other fish what too should I do? I don’t have to top off much with this too which I love.
@@tylerhuxford44 thanks for the help man! But how can I make a salt water to a aquarium? I have a 5 gallon aquarium here. Sorry buddy, Im just a newbie haha
@@nateman_ Of course! So to make your salt water, you're going to need to mix fresh RODI water (reverse osmosis deionized water)with a salt mix. Lot's of great Salt mixes on BRS. There are also many local fish stores that sell pre-mixed salt water depending on where you're located. Do you have anyone near you who can be your salt water hobby mentor?
@@tylerhuxford44 actually non, I'm just doing some research for now. I also saw some videos out here where they are using purified water and marine salt. And they are just using hydrometer to determine wether the mixture is good and balanced. Btw, thanks for your help man. Lastly sir, can I ask how many watts of oxygen pump and water filter I should buy for my 5 gallon aquarium?
@@nateman_ does the 5 gallon already come with a pump? I’ve never looked for an adhoc pump for a tank that small unfortunately 😬 I just use the one my 3 gallon tank came with. Also! If you’re starting the hobby, just a heads up, the smaller tanks are very very difficult to maintain. I’d recommend you start with something bigger. The bigger tanks are easier to keep stable parameters in and clean water. Just a tip ☺️
if you get a clownfish that is young/tiny enough you can "imprint" on them like a puppy 🥹💖 my davinci clown would swim right up to your finger in the water it was so cute... this current tank im trying to be "hands off" & let them (& the mandarin dragonets) eat live foods only
What other tips do you feel newbies should know folks? Don't forget about the giveaway coming up SOON! "Here for the KRAK!"
My pair tries to host my hellfire torch sometimes and I have to shoo them away so they won’t kill the torch!!! “Here for the Krakkk!!!!”
Not the Torch!!!😅 Shoo them with a stick brother! You are entered sir!
I have a molly and a fighter fish a year now, and i just saw a clown fish on a friends house i was so amaze and i plan to have a clown fish now 😂
It’s a great fish!
Which part of the tank do they swim in? Is it mostly the bottom or all over? Thanks, and loved your video.

I guess youtube figured out im planning to get clownfish next

I would always recommend rodi water for topping the tank off and for water changes. But everything else sounds good ☺️

Can they be in the dark? With no light 💡
They can! Any fish can live without light, but they’ll be happier with a light.
My Clownfish is my BIGGEST bully.
Right??
Put it in with the dovii and let's see who's the biggest bully now
I'm a newbie, can i go with normal tap water?
Welcome to the hobby! ☺️ But Nooooo! Don’t do it!!! 😅🤣🤣 seriously don’t do it 😬

Clownfish are ungrateful! You’ll feed them and they’ll instantly turn and try to eat your hand! But I like mine…lol
🤣🤣🤣 this is so true!
my fish problem is pins of fish
This video should be named: Why you should NOT get a clownfish
