I knew Mike when he was just starting out (Knights Past). He was so obviously a major talent at that time, I'm just surprised he hasn't become a major force in mainstream music. If there is such a thing as having too much talent to be popular... Best wishes Mike. Please keep playing. You bring immense joy to real music lovers.
My wife and I had the EXTRAORDINARY pleasure to see Michael play on multiple occasions at the Newport Coffee House in Bannockburn, Illinois.....oh so many years ago.
Oh, let the sun beat down upon my face And stars fill my dreams I'm a traveler of both time and space To be where I have been To sit with elders of a gentle race This world has seldom seen They talk of days for which they sit and wait All will be revealed Talk in song from tongues of lilting grace Sounds caress my ear And not a word I heard could I relate The story was quite clear Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oooh, yeah, babe I've been blind Ooh, yeah, there ain't no denyin', no denyin' All I see turns to brown As the sun burns the ground And my eyes fill with sand As I scan this wasted land Try to find, try to find the way I feel - ooh Oh, pilot of the storm who leaves no trace Like knots inside a dream Leave the path that led me to that place Yellow desert stream My Shangri-La beneath the summer moon I will return again Sure as dust floats high in June We're moving through Kashmir Oh, father of the four winds fill my sails Cross the sea of years With no provision but an open face Along the straits of fear Oh - oh, oh - oh, oh - oh, when I'm Oh, when I'm, when I'm on my way When I see, see the way you make me feel, oh, oh, oh Ooh, yeah yeah, ooh, yeah yeah But I'm down Ooh, yeah yeah, ooh, yeah yeah But I'm down ✨“The whole deal of the song is… not grandiose, but powerful: it required some kind of epithet, or abstract lyrical setting about the whole idea of life being an adventure and being a series of illuminated moments.” - Jimmy Plant 🕊The mystical longings within Robert Plant lyrics allude to a longing for the spiritual, something no doubt influenced by his Catholic upbringing. Well my old friend from Doc's on Stringtown years back, return to Evansville (Lamasco) so I can see this live. Because I watched but do not believe! LOL
And let us not forget that upon it's release, Zeppelin couldn't perform this song live. It took many years and much modern equipment before they did finally bring it to the stage. I would love to have Jimmy and Robert listen and watch this and then get their opinion. Not that it matters but why not?
I consider myself a Christian man. Goddamn sweet baby Jesus Michael Kelsey what have you done? This by far my friend has Put the final nail in the coffin. I used to question whether you were as cool and good as I thought you were. Question answered. Not because you play Led Zeppelin. Because you took the Zepplin to a solo level that’s never been done before. You are a legend and will never die.
K Comm yes. He had this recorded by a friend the same day as the Indy 500. I had seen him play it a couple of times at Walt’s Pub in West Lafayette but this was his best performance of it. Just getting the guitar tuned just right is somewhat difficult also.

Oh, pilot of the storm who leaves no trace
Like knots inside a dream
Leave the path that led me to that place
Yellow desert stream
My Shangri-La beneath the summer moon
I will return again
Sure as dust floats high in June
We're moving through Kashmir
Oh, father of the four winds fill my sails
Cross the sea of years
With no provision but an open face
Along the straits of fear
Oh - oh, oh - oh, oh - oh, when I'm
Oh, when I'm, when I'm on my way
When I see, see the way you make me feel, oh, oh, oh
Ooh, yeah yeah, ooh, yeah yeah
But I'm down
Ooh, yeah yeah, ooh, yeah yeah
But I'm down

Simply outstanding individual performance.
Came here due to Blind Melon. On a Shannon´s interview, he tells that is Michael who played in the hidden track of Soup, after lemonade ends! Amazing!

Benjamin Hawkhurst very nice comments about Michael. He is probably the best guitarist I’ve ever seen. His live shows are absolutely mind blowing.
