I think your ideas about changing the visual appeal scoring are on point. A lot of us value visual appeal highly, myself even more than durability, so awarding more points for something with a better look, and having more granularity to the test sounds ideal to me. Thanks for everything you do!
Really appreciate it :) and Ill probably swap it around, I just wish I had a more quantitative test. I think a new pass/ok/fail is reasonable and will probably be useful for viewers. What i always wanted to avoid doing was a 1-10 or similar as its just so hard to quantify. Thanks for watching!
I will say that real world testing I've tested this exact product on a black truck and allowed the cure time etc. I do not garage my truck nor is it a pavement princess, TLC black ice does work well and if you wash with TLC soap it does last around 8 months before it wears off completely. I will say overall testing real world use case for the price Black ice actually impressed me far beyond ALOT of other products from various manufacturers ranging from Adams, Gyeon, chemical guys , f11 , glassparency etc. This was tested in Houston , Texas greater area and ranged from highway to offroad use with mud etc. Am I claiming that this product replaces a TRUE ceramic coat? No.. that would be insanity.. However for time to apply , cost, and durability it is a very good products.
It's definitely not a bad product and I can believe the 8 months. I just wish they didn't sell this as a true ceramic coating. It's really a silica spray sealant of some sort as far as I can tell.
Nice job man, Im glad you tested this one because there was a bit of hype 12 months ago and no one has really touched it except Pan and I take that with a grain of salt. I tested this out myself and it’s ridiculously priced for what you get vs what they claim. TLC says to throw out your towels after you apply because it will harden. No it won’t. I tested it on a sued applicator and microfiber, zero hardness, I still have the bottle that’s over a year old, no crystallization. 12-18 months 🙄
how are you not getting more views ! awesome testing ! I m assuming the claim to dispose the microfiber towel after used on this product is BS ... I have used it on my car and it performed well , I was about to disposed my microfiber towels but I saw my applicator never hardened like a true ceramic so I still have the microfiber towels
Thanks Ricardo, appreciate you watching and hope the channel does eventually grow :). I didn't feel like this product required the towel to be thrown away. It didn't seem to really harden and washed well.
Another awesome video and product review D.can u review Titan from Phoenix EOD. It's a sio2 detail spray made by a good friend of mine.b well good friend
Amazing to see you as always Joaquin. Any specific ideas for fillers? Maybe a particular product you would like to see me test? Hope you have been well!
@@DmitrysGarage Let me try to explain in my bad english: As we all know, we can have swirls and also small scraches that are impossible to remove completely, and you with your methods (excellent methods indeed), can guide us to the very best possible way to “hide” those problems. Thank you my friend, and again: sorry for my bad english.
Joaquin, I think most of these products claim to fill scratches, but in my experience coatings and silica products are very thin coatings and don’t do much to fill. Really polishing and wet sanding paint do the most to fix it. Maybe i can use a microscope to do a test.
Keep up the good work. TLC claim of 12 months of protection vs reality is the disappointment here. If they said it only lasts 3 months, ok , I can see that, but this product definitely falls short of a true ceramic spray.

Excellent review. 19 washes from a manufacturer claiming 12 to 18 months is fraud in my book. The truth will set you free ☺️
Love your tests. Always super consistent every video
Thank you!

Seems very expensive for what it has to offer. Thanks as always.
Yea, seems like a decent silica/sealant spray, but not at $50 for 8oz :-/.
Can you use Deep Ice on plastic trim ?

How does TLC Deep Ice compare to TLC 2.0? Thanks...
Haven’t tried that one yet
Can you try Koch Chemie S0.02 Spray Sealant?

Thanks Richard! Ill add it to my list and try to get it into a test soon. Good seeing you!
You get a like just for having the Denali in the video. I have the same truck in satin steel metallic.
It's a great truck!
My dear Dmitry... can you test products with fillers?
I believe that this can be a very interesting vídeo too.
Best regards dear friend 👍

When u do the gloss test. With gloss meter What aetting do u use 45 deg. 20 degrees or 60 deg. Thank u in advance
Tom, I use 20 degrees since its a high gloss surface.
Yes change it cause looks matter
Do you recommend the last coat 2.0 or Deep Ice for my brand new untreated Kia Stinger? Thank you!
Still waiting on your recommendation...
I would go with TLC2, its a way stronger product.

Yea just didnt seem to perform well. Thanks for watching!
