You measure the time between the flash of light and the sound. Then you can get a very accurate distance to the source. Use Google Earth and then trace out a circle with that specific radius from the camera's location. Somewhere along that line would be the source. If you have multiple video cameras, repeat the process and the intersection of the circles will be where it occurred. The accuracy increases with more video cameras, their light to sound timing measurements, and the respective circles. If anyone heard a directional component to the sound such as saying "it came from that way", then that information can further elucidate and confirm the location. Remember that there will be a plus or minus margin of error, but other than that the source location can be figured out rather easily.
I've been hearing a boom in Elk Grove for years. Most times, it's far. Sometimes, it's within a mile or 2 south of Winco. It's been happening for almost every year that I've been here. Mostly in the summer. Sometimes in the winter
There been a few of them ot that sound around victory pari area for a few months random all the time at night And no one knoes what or where its coming from
I have a video of the explosion, flash and sound. Shortly before the flash there is a whistling sound then flash then boom. It was really loud. I'm leaning towards a large firework or a meteor.
Can you figure out the precise amount of time from the flash to the sound? That time measures the distance. Roughly 4.69 seconds per mile. Take the time between the flash and sound in seconds, then divide it by 4.69 and then multiply by 5,280 to determine the distance in feet. Use Google Earth to measure the distance from the camera. Draw a circle around the camera at that distance/radius. If you get someone else to do the same thing, the intersection of the circles is where it likely occurred.
compare all the flashes for color-values, certain events' reactions give off tell-tale-flares in specific colors, even if it's starkly white, the flare is indicative of its origin or composition: it seemed white like titanium-flare, and came from above the cloud-layer, so, space-junk-reentry is my best guess.
Duh. Electric transformer explosion. I've seen it multiple times as a first responder. Don't be close to it when one pops. It sounds like a explosion and will light up the sky
So this was definitely from the sky… at first I thought it was a bad ground explosion but if there was nothing found on ground then what caused it in the sky? 🤔
U guys need to read yall Bible everything in the Bible that Jesus said is happening earthquakes which happen in New York, wars are finna happen and lighting from God even the weather people couldn’t detect it the last days are here
Imagine when the whole world hears it at the same time. I'd be ok with it.

Sonic boom. Used to have them all the time when I was growing up near Moffett Field.
sonic is sound
Sonic booms do not have flashes of light.
Not with that flash
Don’t know about the flash but that noise was probably a sonic boom from a jet
