- 🆘 This top is crocheted from TOP DOWN, means the CHAIN is for the NECKLINE guys. So the chain should fit through your head easy then sit on your shoulders nicely. 🆘
🧶Link to the YARN I bought & used is in the end of this description!
Greetings to all crochet lovers!!!
By making this Top you will learn two of the most useful & versatile crochet techniques: "Crochet in the Round" and "Raglan Increase". Once you're familiar with these methods, you will be able to start creating many clothing pieces in various styles. It is definitely awesome for beginners who wants to explore free-hand crochet in the future!
Every detail (regarding the foundation chain, how to change color, and finishing) was clearly demonstrated in this video. So even if you've never crocheted before, don't be afraid. Just gather all you need, and follow me!

The YARN that I bought:
It is category"3 -Dk -light " (just my guess, because the label of my yarn does not inform anything about the weight). 2.5mm is the diameter of the strand. The description reads: "Best suited for 3.0mm rods and 2.5-3.0mm hooks. For Amigurumi, it is recommended to use a 1.6 to 2.0mm hook".
www.etsy.com/listing/10047068...
You can look for "Milk cotton" on the label, which features a cartoon cow. ("Milk cotton" is the name of the brand, yet the yarn is actually made of polyester) 🐝🧶 Some descriptions would say that the yarn is 80% cotton and 20% cotton fiber, etc... However I can tell that it's false information, because I have tried burning it 🔥 and it turned out definitely not cotton at all. Don't know why they lied though 😭 The yarn is great anyway!

Is there a way to do a XL or what number of chains do you suggest
"It's no good crocheting in a twisted round, okay?"
Mobius: "... okay"
🤣
Okay, I started with the top down crop top tutorial and just found this one. I’m only on row 7 of the other tutorial. Could I continue the rows and turn it into the short sleeved version of this or should I finish that crop top and do this separate? I want something like this. Unfortunately I found the other first and started with that
Hii, you’ll find the pattern for the sleeve of the top-down crop top right here: ua-cam.com/video/LoFVyuQ4lQU/v-deo.htmlsi=yymWh_KVU8zW1PUE
i have a question: to get the oversized look, do you follow the size guide for the size you'd normally wear or do you go one size up?
like, i normally wear a medium. should i follow the instructions for a size large to get the oversize look or do i go with size medium?
ps: im using size 4 dk acrylic yarn for this project. would a 5.5mm crochet hook still give me the oversized look?
bless you for providing us with these free, detailed tutorials 😭❤️
I would definitely recommend to go up a size to L for an oversize look. And 5,5mm would certainly does the job (but up size the hook would be greater oversizing so it's really your choice )💞🧶
@@ABoCStudio thank you so much for replying 😚💕 ive made your perplex shrug, balaclava, thigh split skirt, and cami tube top and can't wait to get started on this one.
Hi, When making larger jumper, size XL - Foundation ch 109 ? Then 1st mark on 17th chain? thanks Faye
Yess you’re right💫💕
Hi, I’m hoping you see this. How much of each color would you say you used for this project? I’m fairly new to crocheting and want to make sure I get the right amount of each color.
Hi💕 depends on the size and the types of yarn. If it's acrylic dk yarn and pattern size M: you'll need about 160gr for the main body part and about 120gr for the sleeves 😉
I love this top, I made it 3 times but it always comes out super wide and idk how to fix it. All my stitches are there and the same hook size and weight 4 yarn 😞
Hii💞 you can DM pics of your piece, I'll see what I can hepl! Also I highly recommend you use this new tutorial that I just made recently, it's similar design with improved video' quality ✨ua-cam.com/video/LoFVyuQ4lQU/v-deo.htmlsi=62cCyUCWCkl9dYB1
I really like this pattern, but how do you calculate the number of stitches, rows, etc. for larger sizes? It’s hard finding plus size patterns 😢
You can add 8 more chain for each upsize (Eg: L+8 for XL, XL+8 for XXL, and so on)
And for the marked chain:
1st marked chain->plus 1 for each upsize
2nd, 3rd, 4th->plus 2 for each upsize
Hii! would weight 5 bulky yarn be too chunky for this? 😅
Hi, you can try to make a lil piece of crochet fabric out of the yarn you have and see if you like it 💞
Would a 5 mm hook be okay to use?
Yess, It would be just as good 💗
This pattern is what I’ve been looking for but now I need to make it a dress 😭😭😭
Hiii, if you want it to be longer you can just keep working the body until it's as long as you want 💗💗💗
how would you add a rib neck to the 101 chains?
You can use front/back-post stitches to create the rib neckline 🧶
Hii may i ask what colors of yarn you used?
Hi, they’re cream, carrot orange, brick red and pecan brown ❤️🧶
How about a cardigan 🥰
I will definitely make a cardigan tutorial soon💞
Hii may I ask how much yarn you used of each color?
Hi, i used about 230gr yarn for the body of top (cream white) and about 180gr for the orange sleeves and the colored details 🧶💗💕
what colors/numbers did you use for this sweater?
Hi, it's vanilla cream, carrot orange, brick red and peanut brown ✨
@@ABoCStudio can you tell me the numbers please because the link you put in the description has different names for them
Can I crochet the collar smaller? How to crochet?
Yes! You can make the foundation shorter than the xs, then ignore the written pattern sizing follow on the crochet techniques to shape the top. These adjustments to the pattern would be a bit tricky, so I would recommend you to follow the original pattern and sizing, make at least 1 to understand the principles then the adjustments would be easier to take place❤ I also recommend to try this new pattern instead, it's the same raglan method but the pattern is slightly improved anf the video quality is better:
ua-cam.com/video/LoFVyuQ4lQU/v-deo.htmlsi=Tgfo-j6BWp6C_dmF
hii may i ask how much yarn you used?
Hii, I used about 500gr of yarn 🧶
How would I use this pattern if I wanted a mesh top?
Hi💞 For a mesh-like fabric you can use thinner yarn and a bigger hook 😉
@@ABoCStudio the stitches I’m using to try to make this is triple crochet. Can I still follow your pattern using triple crochet stitches?
@@Edens_garden11 yes that would work too 😉
What if I’m XL?
Hi there for XL you follow everything as the video, while you appling this:
-For the chain (1:54) :
XL: 109 chains
- For marking on to the chain (6:33) :
1st mark: XL 17th chain
2nd mark: XL 22th chain
3rd mark: XL 33th chain
4th mark: XL 22th chain
💗🌻🐝🧶
@@ABoCStudio thank you so much! I really appreciate it :)
@@ABoCStudio for some reason when I’m wrapping the chain around my waist it is not fitting me :( even though I did XL.. should I try a XXL or XXXL?
@@yusurslife8328 ohhh nooo, the chain is for the neckline. We gonna crochet from top down baby 😭😭😭 im so sorry I should have make that clear at first. So the chain should fit your head through and then sit nicely on your shoulders💗💗💗
@@ABoCStudio oh my goshhh!! Ahhh that makes so much more sense thank you so much😭😭 so if it wraps around my shoulders it’s good? Or if it wraps around my neck?
