It would be a good test if the new HW really works for FSD. btw I heard the new Model X and S (date TBD) will have an additional front camera near the front bumper. This should resolve alot of its parking and enhanced/full self driving. Hoping TSLA will allow non front camera vehicles add it.
At the time of this recording, it wasn't offered. Currently, our cars have "newer" versions and have not received the version with the free trial of FSD. Both are currently running v2024.8.9. The version that gets the free trial is v2024.3.6. I don't know if our cars will ever get the trial. I did get v11.4.9 on the Model X for 3 months. I have a video on that but I guess it's outdated since they may have corrected the issues I shared. I actually got a loaner for a day with HW3 and v12.3.4. Have a video coming out in a week or so. For the camera, there are rumors but that's all we can take them as. So far, only Cybertruck has front camera. My Rivian R1T has it as well. It's great and hope it becomes a standard feature on future Tesla cars.
Our 2017 Model X is far superior to our 2024 Model X. Accurately parks, determines distances, the front doors open properly, close properly, the falcon doors open fully in our garage, unlike the 2024 and as demonstrated in your video. Leave it to Tesla to make all these functions significantly worse over seven years. I've purchased 5 Teslas since 2016. This last purchase was our last. Returning to our tried and true Toyota hybrids.
I agree. I have driven a couple previous gen Model X and they seem to hold up better. The front doors on the refresh (2023+) had their USS removed so it doesn't open all the way. We had a 2022 MXLR with it and it opens "normal". The removal of USS is a step backwards in my opinion. Tesla Vision is not at a point to fully replace it. I miss our Toyota Sienna and I've had several Prius. I'd love to go back but I don't want to drive ICE cars anymore.
No problem. They removed USS on the bumpers and front doors on the Model X. But they kept them on the falcon doors and on the roof between the falcon doors. It shows how well they work. Yet they still removed them in other parts of the car 🤦🏻♂️
I have a MYLR24 with V4 and MYRWD23 with radar sensors and I find that the V4 vision is WAY more sensitive than the sensors. I don’t think it’s a bad thing necessarily.
It takes time getting used to. One thing is jumping between two cars with different hardware. My 2022 MYP HW3 now has a setting to "use" Tesla Vision. I've enabled it but I still like my older HW3 system for now. But they are starting to behave similarly... to HW4
Yes you’re right. My brain is stubborn when it hears that sound it thinks something is there. But how else would it present that boundary? It is an improvement over HW3. The Model Y ignores or doesn’t really know about the boundary
I had a co worker with x and it has a clicking noise like that when he turns the steering wheel. He said tesla changed the half shaft and the clicking noise was gone
Thanks. I have heard about the half shaft. The first thing I have to do is make sure the clicking occurs when the tech does the test drive. I don't know why it barely does it when it's there but everywhere else it's constant.

Tesla parking sensor and vision sucks. My prior car parking was precise with 360, front camera, and side curb view was great especially with expensive wheels. My biggest gripe with my Tesla. Tesla vision front camera can’t see past its own hood that’s what it was far from the front curb. Yes I would like the distance meter too once I get a front diffuser on the front.
did they add a parking feature on FSD v12.3.4? does that help improve it? my Rivian with front camera and 360 camera view is easier to park. i don't know why tesla can't stitch the camera coverage together and display a 360 view. the Rivian does have two cameras on each of the side mirrors and no B-pillar camera. i don't think the "predator" sensor with red/yellow colors are as helpful as actual 360 camera view. the distance meter comes and goes on my HW3 MYP. the footage of the distance meter on the MXP was from a software version late 2023 and they removed it. they should have kept it.
Then why buy this car if it doesn’t work like other modern cars? Seems like a big science project. Why is everyone drinking the cool aid? I don’t get it. This is a basic safety feature.
For us, it wasn’t the parking feature we were after. Our previous gas cars never had these and we were fine without it. We bought it because driving electric is more convenient and cheaper than gas. And have had no issues with that part of car. Not everyone will have the same results and experience with savings and convenience though.
There's an option in HW3 cars that uses Tesla Vision. Have you played with it? I don't know how I feel about it but I have enabled it for a couple of weeks now because they removed the distance display. My USS in the front bumper sometimes doesn't chime while parking and objects get closer. So I have to start using the Tesla Vision option.

The Cybertruck truck front camera is the right direction but adding 360 camera would be amazing.
Front cameras would be cool to have. I test drove a Rivian and I like their 360 view better than what Tesla Vision has.

At the current version of FSD, USS is no longer used. With HW3 vehicles you can switch between standard or Tesla Vision with Park Assist

@2:12 when you saw the red on the right but nothing there, the camera are showing you where the boundary of the driveway is.
