Having decent same model loaners available makes a huge difference in your patience and tolerance for shop time and repeat issues. Plus supercharging is covered by Tesla on loaners. We went back for a 2nd X after buy back same year plaid as well. Red/cream. Tesla did remedy a number of these issues during our 12mo warranty (6 months remain). My shop is 2+ hours away which can be a challenge. Mobile service is amazing but cannot be used for moderate to complex jobs requiring multiple sets of hands etc.
Loaners became recently available for me. It was a challenge when they only gave Uber credits. Sounds like your issues have been resolved. 2+ hours is a huge inconvenience.
Initiated a buyback at the Upland SC the last time I went in. 6 service appointments within the first year of ownership, 2 of them serious safety concerns. I received the initial approval for the buyback and was asked for paperwork. Let's see how smoothly this process goes.
Good luck. Once they get all the documents, they will give you an offer. If you accept, you coordinate a date of surrender. Make sure you remove aftermarket stuff. If you have tint, show it to them and ask if it can be left on or has to be removed. Technically it does from the documents you sign but I don’t have to on the first model X. Our tint wasn’t too much darker than factory. After surrender you get a check in a few weeks
My wife drives a 23 Long Range Model X. She had a similar experience a few months ago where all the warnings flashed up on the dash and she noted it felt like the power steering was out. She also noted it felt like the car was hardly giving her any power, like maybe it was limiting the motors or something. I called the service center, they were able to see all the error codes that got thrown. They said they had heard of this issue occurring and they weren’t sure exactly what was wrong, I believe they thought it was some sort of firmware bug or something. After letting the car sit for a bit, I went and drove it and all the warnings were gone. All seemed to drive fine and the car’s power was back to normal, no steering issues or anything. Really weird how sometimes the vehicles getting a hard reset fixes what seems like a crazy situation. Either way, the car has had no issues with this since this one occurrence (knock on wood), I thought it was interesting at the beginning because the situation you described sounded just like what happened to her car. Hopefully it is fixed for yours now as well.
Yes the errors went away with ours as well. We drove it for a few days until I was able to bring it in. But they did find mechanical issues when running tests and diagnostics. Just keep an eye on it. Wife said the brake hold and regen stopped working. She almost hit stuff while parking, anticipating the car to regen and stop and also stay in place instead of roll.
I wouldn't worry about it until notifications pop up. From the two we had, the issues were either immediate or within a couple of months of ownership. Not all Model X have issues. I just have been unlucky with them

@@kevintruong9506 From my understanding, it saves them money without going through arbitration. They may have an advantage over you but so far it has been fair. @ yeah same, also wasn’t happy with Rancho. Lied multiple times saying work was completed that wasn’t. Had metal on metal grinding sound coming from passenger seat on delivery, lit wasn’t attached and tried to say was within spec. Rear seat arm rest broken also told within spec, HV battery replaced 2 months in because it “impacted a steering part” and then the steering broke entirely, autopilot pinballing in the lane-again tried to say was within spec and they “don’t do alignments”. After weeks of arguing and being hung up on by Upland, finally got them to agree to put the car on a lift (insane!) after telling them you’re putting my family’s safety at risk in the middle of the lobby. Found issue, car was repurchased. Walnut SC was also bad. Didn’t get a single loaner car in 18 months of total hell.

The Model S and X don't sell much unlike their Model 3 and Y but their profit margin is huge on these cars. That's how they were able to launch the Model 3 then Y. Quality and reliability doesn't match the price when it comes to the rest of Tesla's offerings.

They are taking preorders for the Gravity November 7. I have to watch more videos on it. My issues with Lucid are - Not many dealership/service centers nearby - It's that "egg" shape like the Model X. I don't know how much trunk space I would lose. Although it looks more like a mini-van but no sliding doors. If it had sliding doors, it would be more appealing to me - I want to experience the software more. Can't really go for a test drive since the closest Lucid Studio is about 1.5 hours away. And test drive isn't going to be enough. Still a consideration but distance to a dealership is a turn off

I know too many people with failing rear motors on their cybertruck. Not really sure what's going on with Tesla. Model 3 and Y I can easily recommend but everything else 😢
Glad your buyback worked out. Good luck on your next car. Pls keep me posted on what you get.
@@sherwinm haven’t got the money yet. My lawyer is taking forever with this. That agreed months ago. Meanwhile I’m putting miles on the car which they will deduct from the payback. Don’t like what Elon is doing either supporting this fascist trump. Wish the Lucid was out now! Good luck with your X
@@sherwinm I had a 2018 RWD M3. No issues at all. Best car ever. Now spoiled with the X the self presenting doors and the smooth air ride Homelink and Sirius XM built in
@@Anthony__420 My first Tesla was a 2020 Model 3. It had no mechanical issues. Just misalignments and panel gaps. The suspension and comfort are the things why I love the Model X. The issues are my least favorite 💔
Yeah I was just at the service center and yeah a lot of Tesla service center employees no good
Many have been recently laid off. Some have started working at Rivian so I’m not sure if my bad experience with Rivian has anything to do with ex-Tesla employees 😂 🤷🏻♂️
You have to be lucky to have model X without issues. 😂🎉😂
Anyone with a Model S/X or Cybertruck and have no issues, should be playing the lottery or hitting the casinos 🤣
Doesn't Tesla have a "telephone" that you could "call"?
Not a direct number to service. You would have to create a ticket to "open" a line of communication. This would be through chat in the Tesla app. The service center isn't too far and is right off the highway.
Mini-van time
I've thought about it. The new Toyota Sienna Limited now comes in a hybrid 🤔
But I'm so used to EV road trips.
@@sherwinm Well, you experienced owning the fastest SUV on the planet which you witness firsthand the numerous headaches of the Model X twice!! The Toyota Sienna hybrid probably offers more features for the family and can travel your destination without re-fueling. "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times, shame on both of us."
@@Chevy2U We'll see. Have to see what they say about the request. It's still a win/win. If they deny the request, there's a chance I'll be back in service. If not, great! Still love the Model X. Only difference this time is we have an extra car and time is on our side. We can be without one less car until a solution is found.
@@sherwinmsienna hybrid is a beast. Too bad there are still mark-ups
@@Chevy2U1020 HP car with this level of performance should be put into class of supercar quirks and don't consider it reliable like a 1995 civic ex. 😊
Tesla is like iphone. Lots of bugs or limitations. You got to live with it.
🤔I lived with the first Model X longer than I should have. I don't want to do the same with this. I cannot fully enjoy the car and have concerns in the back of my mind.
should have bought a toyota, lexus, honda, or acura!
We don’t want to go back to gas. But if we want a larger vehicle, we may consider going back to a Toyota Sienna

😂 yup that’s common issue
I am so sorry you’re having to work with Upland service. They were the most unprofessional and clueless group of individuals I’ve ever interacted with. At least in 2023, exec. leadership at Upland had no prior automotive experience. Good luck.
Thanks. I’ve been going there since they were in Rancho Cucamonga. I don’t have that much issues when I bring my Model Y or 3 in but it’s different with the Model X. I don’t understand why. 🤷🏻♂️
@ 😮 oh man sorry to hear that
Tesla service continues to get worse and worse each year. Sorry Sherwin
Thanks. I don't know if it's a good thing to say that I'm used to it. But at least I get to share my experiences. I think it helps people in the comment section to also vent out and share their frustration when they see someone else go through with it.
Model X is the worst car in the market. The car is an unreliable piece of shit. They sell like 2,000 a quarter.
The Model S and X don't sell much unlike their Model 3 and Y but their profit margin is huge on these cars. That's how they were able to launch the Model 3 then Y. Quality and reliability doesn't match the price when it comes to the rest of Tesla's offerings.
I have a 2018 Model X and have not been to service yet 0 problems with 65k miles on it I keep my ride height at medium and have 40k miles on my Pierelli P Zero scorpion tires
I'm boutta buy mine soon!
@@davidmitchell1920 From the loaners I had of the previous gen, I think they are built better than the refresh.
hey man if it’s within spec they wouldn’t fix it, he lying
everything is within spec 🤣
Get lucid
Bankrupt soon... 😅
They are taking preorders for the Gravity November 7. I have to watch more videos on it. My issues with Lucid are
- Not many dealership/service centers nearby
- It's that "egg" shape like the Model X. I don't know how much trunk space I would lose. Although it looks more like a mini-van but no sliding doors. If it had sliding doors, it would be more appealing to me
- I want to experience the software more. Can't really go for a test drive since the closest Lucid Studio is about 1.5 hours away. And test drive isn't going to be enough.
Still a consideration but distance to a dealership is a turn off
@originaloffical what do you know?
