Concord swung the bat and it slipped off their grasp went flying somehow hit a wall/beam and it ricochet back directly to their knee with twice as much force
Watching the Concorde humiliation conga has been a highlight of gaming this year. It’s only natural that its suffering ends with a high budget trailer which is supposed to get you hyped for characters that you’ll never play in a game that doesn’t even exist anymore. I’m gonna laugh so hard if this episode is actually good.
It’s so hilarious how fucking *SURE* Sony was that Concord was going to be a massive hit. Impossible to fail. Overwatch killer. Call of Duty killer. Biggest gaming franchise to ever exist without a shadow of a doubt. It’s genuinely so damn funny.
A huge corporate pipeline is built around the idea that there's always stuff at the far end of the pipeline. In good times, this means you're able to smoothly release money-making content, but if anything fouls up the money flow you're completely hosed and all the work spent on that stuff up the line was wasted.
Then you get Transformer's Aligned continuity, where every creator wanted to do their own thing, even though Hasbro pitched the projected as connected universe through different mediums.
@@TornaitSuperBird Hell, they couldn’t even keep continuity in their own universes. There was a WfC novel where Starscream’s a scientist at the start and then later on Starscream’s confused by something because he’s “not a scientist”
@@Ceber300Ah, Starscream, forever caught in a constant continuity flux of being a scientist, a prince, a student, a university reject, an explorer, a criminal, dead, immortal, competent and incompetent all at once! Every time a piece of Transformers media actually commits to keeping his story straight instead of vague and messy I do a little clap.
Things like this are always a big gamble. The Dark Universe had multiple movies in production that were all canceled after The Mummy bombed. And you got Exodus that has a Secret Level episode and two books before the game comes out.
We need a video game equivalent to the Razzies but we should call it the Concords and all the trophies should be modelled after random concord characters to be awarded to games for things like "Most egregious microtransactions" and "buggiest launch" and such

I really want this episode to both be great, and end on a teaser for content that will never arrive. It would just be the perfect punchline to this entire joke. RIP Concord, August 2024-September 2024
Concord is the failure that keeps on failing long past its death. Holy shit this is so hilarious. The fact that this has not been cancelled yet even though the game is dead and gone is just wild to me. What the hell is Sony hoping for here? That it will reignite a fire that was never even lit to begin with?
You always sees appreciation posts for the standard capybara, axolotl, gibbon, etc, but never for the fenestrate bryozoan and spirifier brachiopod, smh my head.
I’m curious about the Concord episode specifically because the game is dead. It’ll be a fascinating artifact, especially because it won’t even feature characters who were in the game
It's embarassing as fuck for Sony. But what incentive does Amazon have to cancel it? Pat's not making sense to me here. That episode is money. People want to watch it to point at laugh at Sony. Sony can beg to have it cancelled but if the episodes made and Amazon already has Sony's money why would Amazon care?
Besides, even if the trainwreck effect didn't materialize and the episode had as few eyeballs as the game had players, it's a streaming platform. It's not like it's taking up a timeslot that could go to something else. They gain nothing from cancelling it, and lose nothing from airing it.
Spoilers for FFXIV: Dawntrail MSQ The analogies of the horror are both apt, but its funny that 7.1 Dawntrail MSQ has a scenario where you had beaten a beloved figure, had a whole funeral, had several citizens wondering how to cope and move forward when suddenly the Queen suddenly appears alive and well, and everyone's memories are rewritten to forget her death even happened. THATS what this feels like. Like a dead celebrity or family figure just sitting at the breakfast table and no one has any complaints except you.
just when i thought i was done caring about concord THEY PULL ME BACK IN! btw do we actually have a name for the exec who thought this was gonna be the next star wars (which, to be fair, it kinda is)
holdin a birthday party for someone who went on a off%sales and they start to play that song "maybe i don't really wanna know how the garden grows maybe I just wanna fly" and everyone is happy 😶
I agree more with Pat here because Woolie saying the episode is in a larger context of the anthology series instead of just being an ad doesn’t work because the whole series is an ad. It’s just ads for whatever game they happen to be talking about, and if said game is literally impossible to play, encouraging people to buy it is just gross malfeasance.
This feels like the equivalent of if League of Legends shutdown as Arcane was in development. All this worldbuilding and fiction for a game that does not exist anymore.
The funniest thing would be if the episode became a meme, Sony re-releases Concord as a result and it crashes and burns again. Morbius all over again! Also the fact that this is the only Sony IP to get a full episode. They really went all in on this game.
I don’t know what Pat is thinking. I desperately want to watch this fucking thing way more now that Concord is dead. Plus why the fuck would Sony care about burying it at all? What damage could it do? Are they gonna kill Concord again??
The idea that they’re cancelled season 2 is almost too funny to be real. Going from AC6’s trailer, where some of the elements don’t totally match with the game, I imagine there was room for creative liberty such that they just didnt include any game designs. Or. Development was too early on the show, and no designs existed.
The game lasted 14 days because it was too weak. In its genre, only "spectacular" has a chance of breaking in, and this was "average"... terminally average.
I won't even f**king bother watching that episode. Why even waste my time when I can watch the cool stuff based on REAL games like Space Marine 2 & Armored Core VI? Yes, Keanu is starring in a sequel or side story set in the same timeline/universe. He is even talking to a Coral entity.
"Discover Concord" in the same way you discover a dead spider in your bathroom
The dead spider is more exciting. I get to speculate on what killed it, spiders are pretty bad ass. I know EXACTLY what killed Concord.
At least the spider was a surprise.

I can't believe that concord discourse is lasting several orders of magnitude longer that the game itself
The game didn't even last like 2 weeks. It died so fast most people didn't even know about the game until it was already shutting down.
The concord guys going "NOTHING BAD EVA HAPPENS TO THE KENNEDYS!" as they drive their spaceship into the sun
The sheer idea they thought it would kick off so good they could tease new characters in the Secret Level show will forever be funny 😂
Imagine going up to plate, aiming at the rafters. Only to get beaned in the knee so hard you have to end career.
Concord swung the bat and it slipped off their grasp went flying somehow hit a wall/beam and it ricochet back directly to their knee with twice as much force
It hit some MLB bigwig in the junk, too
At least that guy is on first, which is more than you can say for Concord.
I hope the Concord episode ends with a “Poochie died on his way to his home planet” type joke
This is like doing a second baby shower for that same baby
after the stillbirth
And after the Dad got a vasectomy after the stillbirth for not wanting to go through that trauma again
