You know, I went through a few systems trying to run that upon release and all struggled to get decent visuals and FPS, until I re-installed it years later with what today would be considered pre-historic hardware: I'm talking AMD Athlon 64 x2 and an nVidia Geforce 9600 GS with a whopping(!) 48 shaders and 768 MB DDR2 VRAM. Yet despite these ancient components this game ran with everything cranked to the absolute maximum, and it made me love it even more. So good to see alan wake in the thumbnail. I haven't played that game in a long time, this brings back lots of good memories as this was one of the very few games i owned on the 360.
I was really expecting Half Life 2 Lost Coast or Episode 2. Either way, good list. It might be the boomer in me but I think the graphics back then were overall a better experience. Nowadays everything requires a big amount of temporal AA and it blurs the hell out of everything and gives me a headache after an hour
Thankyou for including Alan Wake... and such an underrated game! Although the graphics are on 360 are still totally solid, I'd love to see it with some 4k treatment, I'd totally buy it again. Keep up the great vids!
Playing Motorstorm on my PS3 (the first game I loaded up when I got the console) was a jaw dropping moment - huge step up graphically with that console. Mirrors Edge, Killzone 2, AC2, Bioshock.... incredible.
Ah yes I heard of it I didn't know Remedy made it, it looks quite interesting. I much more prefer these sort of games to run n gun stuff. Stuff with story and suspense.
Seeing killzone on the list reminded me of Black which is even more impressive because not only does it look as good and sometimes even better, it has perfect sound design and destructible environment such that we don't see in games even today, and all of that on a PS2
I'm with you Jake, I loved the original Darksiders, too. I've played it 3 times: the first time with the 360 (it's what made me buy a console of that generation), then the remaster, then the backward compatible one. Still one of my fav games of all time.
Sonic Unleashed is still my favourite looking game ever. It's like a playable Pixar movie. I do wish it would be realised again with a better frame rate

Heeey guys from Gameranx, im a really huge fan of your cannel since quite a while and bros i have to say that you guys have been doing a great job but you have to know that people from Mexico, like me and all of the other countries from latinoamerica will appreciate, if you guys put subtitules in English, that will make more easy to understand what the hell you guys are sayin hehehehehe well thats all guys you’re awesome keep up the good work ☝🏽😎👌🏽
Alan Wake is one of my favorite games of all time. Everything about it is incredible.
Maybe I am old, nostalgic and crazy, but I honestly expected that Driv3r would appear on this list.
Great game btw I need to finish it
the darkness 1. i still have chills. also thief. amazing atmosphere
This vid Makes me wanna revisit some old games like IGI,bully,Freedom fighters, total overdose, the first 3 call duty's, the original infamous and metal gear solid (old one's)
Early 2000s doesn't feel long ago unlike the 70s 80s with the 90s
I remember being absolutely blown away by MW2 graphics
So good to see alan wake in the thumbnail. I haven't played that game in a long time, this brings back lots of good memories as this was one of the very few games i owned on the 360.
One game that nobody remembers but i thought the graphics were crazy . The chronicles of ridick escape from butcher bay .
I feel like Midnight Club Los Angeles had good graphics.
Dub Edition was pretty good too, tho not sure its date.
@@crazyeyez1502 I forgot about dub edition, it’s up there too
I was really expecting Half Life 2 Lost Coast or Episode 2.
Mirrors Edge, Killzone 2, AC2, Bioshock.... incredible.
RE 1 remake blew my mind back in the day. Pre rendered backgrounds or not, it holds up well even today.
They need to make Alan Wake 2, I think I've played through the whole thing 3 times now.
Play Control, it's the prequel of Alan Wake and there's a DLC where you play as Alan Wake
There's the spinoff game Control. If you haven't played that, give it a go.
Its coming sometime next year ig
Ah yes I heard of it I didn't know Remedy made it, it looks quite interesting. I much more prefer these sort of games to run n gun stuff. Stuff with story and suspense.
@@XrisD147 Well, make no mistake Control has a lot of run and gun in it but also a lot of story and suspense, aswell as jaw-dropping visuals.
I finally played through Allen wake this last year and loved it. Thought the end was a bit lackluster though
Great list but I missed Far Cry, first game still holds up pretty well.
I was lucky enough to have a PC that could play Crysis awesome back then! Game was great, loved it!
I was hoping he was gonna mention Infamous when he mentioned Darksiders because they look just alike graphic wise.
Still one of my fav games of all time.
jus wanted to say i appreciate the content whilst im early
You could say it at any time, you know? Its always appreciated 😉
Nice
Smash bro’s melee on GC holds up
This video was well made and had good voice over
I remember getting a laptop in 2014 and being amazed I could play mirrors edge maxed, it’s way older than I thought it was.
Yo with you being a huge fan, how can you NOT put MGS4 on this list?!?! I was so shocked it didn't make it.
Ikr it had amazing graphics
I remember playing as a kid and being freaked out by how real it looked haha.
@@angelgjr1999 They wasn't any PC game at the time, that looked this good!
or mgs 3
@@MoviesNGames007uk There really wasn’t. Maybe Half Life 2 but that’s it.
where is resident evil 4 it's looks so good even today
Yeah I was surprised not to see it here.
Gameplay still holds up beautifully too. I don't think it needs a remaster.
Just played Allen wake the first time a few months ago, and that game does look great.
Man this takes me down memory lane
Sonic Unleashed is still my favourite looking game ever. It's like a playable Pixar movie. I do wish it would be realised again with a better frame rate
FEAR is a legend. Glad to see it receive some attention
FEAR was the first game I ever really noticed high resolution textures. I remember being in awe at that I could read every word on the signs.
i agree, before games like doom 3 which was considered as top graphics for example had terrible textures
Gamernax delivered again... and I'm asking myslef, why I hadn't subscired to them erlier?
Who also read the title and knew he was gonna talk about Batman Arkham asylum and crysis
The first thing that came to my mind was ac 1 😂
The Warriors, Bully and most Rockstar games still hold up today. Also, idk if it’s nostalgia but the Assassin’s Creed and Splinter Cell games still look good to me
One game/s I miss are the condemned games. I really enjoyed the style of those games and the way they felt to play, it felt heavy and every swing felt tiring, personally I loved them at the time and I wish they got more love
i tried replaying it about a year ago i couldnt get through it but man in its time it was so good
