    Really enjoying the videos. I've just bought a 308 GTI with a very similar engine, so these will be incredibly useful!

    abit of thread grease on those plugs will stop them seizing or snapping when trying to remove next time.

    I have tried to establish the peugeot recommended plugs to fit on my 1.6 THP 200bhp with several different results.... Can anyone help as to the correct (preferably NGK iridium if there are options) and the correct plug gap.

      I still don't understand how you took the ignition coils out? Is there a button that you press? On my 2010 theres a button but I press it and I pull it but it still doesn't come out. maybe I'm not pulling it hard enough? I don't know.

      Hi benny704. Look at 0:42 I lift the clip of the ignition coil up. Then you need to pull out the cable and finally pull out the coil.

      Eventually will take the entire front off to fix a few things. But for the time being I'm busy with my Firebird project of which videos will start coming in a few weeks.

    Scot, any recomended OBD2 for rcz?

    • @MotorScotti
      @MotorScotti  3 роки тому

      I sold the car over two years ago, but if you want spend your money on something more sophisticated, look for a diagnostics scanner that can read PSA Group cars from around 2010 to 2015. You can delete fault codes with any generic scanner but you can't always read the detailed fault codes with them.

    How do I fix the LED rear stop light strip .where some are not working. Please.

    • @MotorScotti
      @MotorScotti  3 роки тому

      No idea how it can be removed, but I'd start with the owner's manual. You'd be surprised how much is written in there. ;-) But usually, when one of the LEDs is gone, you have to change the complete set. Single LEDs can't just be replaced unless you absolutely know what kind of LED it is and how to take it apart and put back together. Just look for a third brake light set.

      Diesel engines don't have spark plugs, they glow plugs. Petrol engines need a spark to ignite the fuel. Diesel ignite the fuel with the compression inside the chamber when the piston comes up. It only needs the glow plugs to pre-heat for a cold start, especially in winter.

    What if you don't tighten to 25nm can't you just do it till tight

    • @MotorScotti
      @MotorScotti  4 роки тому +1

      Sure, with experience you get a feeling what's tight enough depending on where you fasten into, especially into aluminium. I had the spec, a torque wrench and easy access, that's why I tightened it, but if you just tighten till tight you'll be fine.

    how many km's do you have to change the spark plugs? thanks :)

    • @MotorScotti
      @MotorScotti  8 років тому

      For this model every 30'000 km. Might be different on the Diesel model

      dear Scotty my original plugs were beru, I have a thp 200 too.. I put NGK iridium.. the difference? well better low revs more fluid torque till red line.. beru seemed to try a little kick at top end! I believe the more constant revving the better the spark plug! the iridium should last twice as much too..

  • @maxwellmorris
    @maxwellmorris 2 роки тому

    There is no way this is going to work because the original plugs will not accept a standard 14mm plug socket. You have to purchase a special adapter to fit the original plugs. I spent wasted time just trying to remove the plugs as suggested in this video. The replacement plugs are standard 14mm size which take the normal plug socket.

    • @MotorScotti

      There is nothing special about this. If I did it with the tools I used and showed, then it's possible.

  • @malboro555
    @malboro555 7 років тому +3

    Never use Bosch spark plugs, they are cheap and very bad quality. Only NGK iridium or Denso.

    • @MotorScotti
      @MotorScotti  7 років тому +1

      malboro555 Well, I know NGK is the original equipment manufacturer but I just wanted to try the Bosch. Been in there for over a year, no problem whatsoever - might switch back to NGK next time :-)
