Great video and happy to see a 3 MPS on UA-cam, but definitely, you shouldn't stop your car like this at the end of the video and should wait at least 30sec for the turbo to calm down (it's even written in the car's guide)!
That's common practice with every single Turbocharged engine if you don't want to ruin the turbo's. At least it should be common practice, but people are stupid.
the video seems cutted in last few seconds so we never gonna know if he cooled it down or no. yeah 2 year old replay it is what it is :D

With stock car like that acceleration will be much better shifting at 5700rpm. full 1 second difference in 0 to 60 and 1/4 mile. Great video.

I have the same Mazda 3 2.3l 5 speed manual, had to put a good used engine in it. Love this car.
Just remember, whenever you want to go fast on curvy roads with these cars you will have to switch DSC off. The understeer will go away almost totally and whatever is left can be easily managed with lift off or in some circumstances even by accelerating during turning (long live mechanical LSD).
Had 1 for 5 .5 years and never drove it with dst on. Then the abs pump seized 😄

What brand is the in channel rain guards?
Hm, I have 6 mps stock(for now afk :D). Usually in grippy weather I allow more clutch slip so rpm will not drop so much and load to read diff not so high. Also love your shift to 3rd, I usually just push lever up-right for quick shifts.

@@skvrs129 yeah, there some problems and points where you should be very carefully when buying. All numbers will be in metric. So, at 100.000 pretty sure timing chain will be stretched, timing gears should be ok, chain pusher needs replacement also, at 120000 turbo may start burning oil and spool late(3000-3500), I changed turbo recently(700$), much better. If it will be overused, it can explode, so be careful. Oil change required every 7k km, cause engine pretty demanding on it. Also, only 100 fuel, or 98, don't touch 92, 95 can be used if mixed with 98, mainly on cruise. Ofk u can use 95, but pushing accel couple of times may leak your pistons to bottom) Of course this also depends on quality of fuel, I think high quality 95 also ok, but watch knock sensor readings. Rear diff may be ripped out if someone launched car too hard on tarmac(asphalt). Clutch may be burnt, cause it a little hard in mps, also flywheel is two-mass, my was ripped in two separate parts by hard launch(it was original, 13 years old, so that's ok). Also, about chassis, i live in Ukraine, there are a lot of snow, and salt used on roads, but regards to Mazda, no rust. But, I have some welds that come apart and creak or leak water, so some metal work may be needed. Transmission, suspension is pretty durable and don't need much attention or investment. In general, I bought 6 mps for 7.100$, invested 4400$ over 4 years to keep in ideal state. Tuning also pretty cheap, check corksport.

If you hold the traction control button as you start the car it turns off stability and traction control (you'll see two yellow lights on the dash). If you watch when you launch the light still blinking the computer is still cutting power. I have an 09 Speed 3.

I have USDM 09 speed3 in Europe and it is my first car as a student and it can definetely be daily car. I use it every day to get to school and back (40km+ daily)

I love Japan cars, my first car was 1999 accord sport sedan, and now i have Mazda 3 bk. Pretty reliable cars, they start every time and never stall. I also hate them, coz they rusts af. They have pretty thin and bad sheets quality, and thin layers of paint. It rusts much faster than other cars, its sad and uneconomical to repair. My next car will be Benz or Volvo, they have pretty good prottection againts european salty winter roads.
More like 1430kg's, the BK series 1 is lighter than the BL series 2 MPS/MS3.

It's a little bit like the cheap version of AutotopNL but its verry good. Good quality, good variation of actions. I like it :-) Also great car. Sometimes i wish i had bought this in stead of my Leon Cupra 1p. Maybe on day. It would be perfect if you focus on affordable cars like this. Lambo's and co. Are impressive, but not realistic to own. Tnx!
Top speed of 250km/h is nothing for a speed, my buddies had stage 1 motor, stage 2 clutch and cob v3 and when up to 284 on the 1st gen ms3 :)

What does dsc do ?
help control side slip when driving on slippery surfaces, or during sudden or evasive maneuvering, etc. But in case of ms3 - it slows this car during acceleration, by short.
back in the days mps 3 was one of the fastest hatchback, faster than st, opc almost same as s3 p8
Why DSC OFF?
With DSC ON the 1st and 2nd gear has electronically limited torque, to limit wheel spin and torque steer - slower acceleration.
