Australia is a standout producer of high quality and safe food that the world wants, yet we take it for granted. We produce enough food to feed 75 million people in a country with a population of 25 million, yet 7.6 million tonnes per annum is wasted, enough to fill the Melbourne Cricket Ground to the brim ten times.
Fighting food waste is for people and for the planet.
Fight Food Waste Limited, incorporating Fight Food Waste CRC and Stop Food Waste Australia, is leading food waste action in Australia through research and innovation, industry and government collaboration, policy development and consumer behaviour change.
