Started using DEX when I got my Note 8 about 5 or 6 years ago. Since then DEX has become my main PC. You can also stream from your desktop pc and play games in your Steam account without paying for Xbox or Playstaion. I've found when traveling all you need is a USB C to HDMI adaptor and a HDMI cable to plug into the hotel tv's or a portable monitor. I use the Playstaion PS5 controller and it works great. Samsung flagship phones are pricey but DEX justifies the cost as I no longer need a laptop to carry around as well.
If it wasn't for the need to do editing in the Adobe suite I'd do the same thing. Until we get there I'll need my MacBook. I can't justify paying for shadow pc just yet either which is a pc in the cloud so regardless of device the speeds are dependant on what you're paying
You can also emulate PS2, Nintendo DS, PSVita and Nintendo Switch games with the newer emulators released recently. Pokemon sword and shield works smoothly as well on Skyline emulator. It's insane.
I have one and the performance for ps2 the speed goes up and down every few seconds regardless how much u change the settings for each game to the point it's unplayable especially driving games

The only downside is you cant use the controller to navigate in the menu. To solve this I use a wireless mouse with my hub. This setup turns any mobile game into a console like approach.

Why can't I use a normal USBC cable, I have a fold 3 and same wimaxitt monitor and it doesn't connect unless it's usbc to hdmi adapter, I see you using just a usbc cable and no matter what settings on my phone i get 0 connection no mirror no dex nothing it doesn't recognize it, you think it could be the monitor or phone? It doents just instantly recognize it like it does when you do it? If you have time would love your input, but thanks for video, love this setup with gamepass

Well if you are using wireless dex or dex on pc or such you'll be locked to 30 fps To get higher you have to use it with a monitor either with a multi in one hub or an usb-c to hdmi (also works with vga and display port) cable

My 23 ultra gets so hot it burns to hold it. If I don't remove the case it gets to hot to hold. Like it actually burns my fingers. But it never stops performing well. Especially when playing carx at maxed out graphic settings.
So i got cod to work with dex on my tv but i use a 3rd party xo troller mapping for a game that doesnt support controller yet (arena breakout) and it just didnt work
I can never get the top bar to appear with RetroArch....so I can't resize or move it around. Anyone else see this problem? It's only with RetroArch. Would love a fix because RetroArch is really awesome
Using Dex vs just mirroring is the way to go because it Dex matches the aspect ratio of the display you're using automatically. Games run in fullscreen.

@@marjase9172 you need to also find the Production and Title keys for Skyline (pretty much similar to a bios file required for the PS2 emu).

I use Samsung DeX on my Galaxy Tab S7 for stuff like this. It's fantastic just HOW useful DeX is for everyday use and more advanced things like this!
Aaaand....DeX is where Android (specifically Samsung) is absolutely superior to iPhone and this one single feature TROUNCES Apple.

I still think the DeX Dock was shelved way too early. One little stand with USB, HDMI, and charging all in one.

You can do either, but C to C should let a touch screen work and power the monitor.

It's probably the input latency added by using a bt controler plus the input latency of the TV.

We're you able to get 60 FPS on the display? In my limited testing the Dex appears to be locked to 30FPS which can feel strange on some games.

Not in and of itself, no. If you're powering a monitor with your phone you're gonna see a hit there.

It should have it's own power source.
Most can run without it but not great. Then your phone has to power the USB hub and all the peripherals.
