This is one of snare solo of DCI I&E Snare 2009. He is from Blue Devils snare line and got 2nd place.enjoy. 中部 敬之 ナカベ タカユキ www.wix.com/takayukinakabe/home
Whoa! He got a haircut! I love his stick tricks. He's definitely loves that crazy heirta ram stuff and the weird polyrhythms. I remember her showed me some of this stuff at the System Blue camp in Yucaipa.
@EnzoDrumminPeace Are you putting down Takayuki or me here? I understand that it is not the hardest visual effect to achieve. However, I was acknowledging the fact that it is cool.
fyi coats do NOT have slicing issues. justin (08 center) had a slice and he was just such a badass player that they decided to make it a part of the technique. which is why they used it as a visual in 09 so many times.
@pyrol0rd101 this guy is part of the the best drumline in the world, im not saying that he has no room for improvement because no matter how long you play you can always get better but come on, THE BEST DRUMLINE IN THE WORLD and you are criticing his techinque?
David Oriente.... but personally i think this guy should have won... pleased the audience MUCH more.... and all Oriente did was play VERY fast rhythms....
i think its because he added some showmanyship and had some grooves in his solo. I would cheer anybody who was performing to me and plays spicy licks. I admit, david deserved to win because he overall outplayed everyone there and had an overall cleaner run.
@IanDonlin I agree with your point of view, but I think this solo did have a pretty good amount of musicality and tastefulness. There are distinct sections with different feelings to them; some high points and low points, some parts that build and others that fall. A math equation wouldn't have gotten the crowd going the way this performance did.
@ethanlikes 'Theoretically' that is how it works. But the closer you are to the center doesn't mean your better, its just means you played a bit better at auditions than the others.
@S1lv3rdo7 It's very true too much attention can often be paid to the tricks and licks et cetera... and 'Falcon Punch' is an extraordinary piece no doubt, I simply felt my vote of preference in sound differentiation goes to this drummer. Must say though, volume control was perfect in 'Falcon Punch'
@RCMS74 Jeff Proserie is a very intelligent/fair judge and any decision he makes should be respected. Im just saying I love to get judged by him cuz he always makes the right calls
you need to watch your pink on your left hand haha. be sure not to let it stick out a lot. but other than that....really good job. must be nice to be able to play that good haha
@kmtobia Ignore whoever that is. But I have a question. I'm guessing everyone in the entire line individually has great hands, guessing that it's the listening and marching that sets people apart?
wow....wonderful job. but i'm only going to say one thing. you really need to watch your pinky on your left hand when you're playing traditional. must be nice to play that good XD
his chops were off the fucking charts!!
@drftg1011 Its when the downward stroke of the stick isnt straight down but at an angle.
This guy is simply having a blast! I love it!
He placed that high because he didn't choose an extremely hard piece but played a lesser one with utmost perfection.
I like his style
i love this guy. . .
he play so clean. . .
so effortless.
*insert Takayuki Nakabe playing a lot of hertas joke here*
really fresh joke. It's hilarious. I'm dying of laughter. Man that joke is so new.
those are sickkkkkkk heritas!!!!!!
DAYUM
His life must be hertas
Whoa! He got a haircut! I love his stick tricks. He's definitely loves that crazy heirta ram stuff and the weird polyrhythms. I remember her showed me some of this stuff at the System Blue camp in Yucaipa.
Paradiddle race of the left towards the end! Awesome.
very good.
Loved the ghosts
i dig it
@Chriscade09 Thanks for explaining that. I could never figure out why it was there.
I'm finding it hard to see why you didn't get first place. Well done!
@EnzoDrumminPeace Are you putting down Takayuki or me here? I understand that it is not the hardest visual effect to achieve. However, I was acknowledging the fact that it is cool.
Sick solo, nice ghosting in there too. Must have been a tough choice for the judges; this, or falcon punch lol
the ends are usually the best
@TheHmmreally you know I marched in that line, right?

r read it somewhere =D
@RayCasserly
because david oriente melted everyone's faces with his sound quality
@TheDragonmaster18 yes
@TheDragonmaster18 Yes
yeah center and center three are also the strongest.
Blue Devils yes
the center is the best
@RayCasserly seriously this was way better than the first place solo
ninja
David Oriente.... but personally i think this guy should have won... pleased the audience MUCH more.... and all Oriente did was play VERY fast rhythms....
Sorry I'm 12 years late.. just thought I'd stop by to say that I had 3 people in the room to watch my performance. One of them was the judge.
remember JUSTJAY95, those stick companies give the corps the good stuff. I felt that way about IP Mac sticks.
i think its because he added some showmanyship and had some grooves in his solo. I would cheer anybody who was performing to me and plays spicy licks. I admit, david deserved to win because he overall outplayed everyone there and had an overall cleaner run.

So what you're saying is that the center is the best, the ends are generally stronger listeners and the others vary.
@ctsbrg Deleon got 1st in 08 and David Oriente got 1st in 09, though I do agree with you.
is this guy from japan?
have you notcied how the second place winner from 2008-2009 are actually 1st place material. i mean cmon this guy deserves it
心吹いて、より正確です
@ethanlikes 'Theoretically' that is how it works. But the closer you are to the center doesn't mean your better, its just means you played a bit better at auditions than the others.
Damn, This guy is beast. I wonder who got 1st.
@S1lv3rdo7 It's very true too much attention can often be paid to the tricks and licks et cetera... and 'Falcon Punch' is an extraordinary piece no doubt, I simply felt my vote of preference in sound differentiation goes to this drummer. Must say though, volume control was perfect in 'Falcon Punch'
how did he not win? it was real groovy :P
falcon punch my ass! this should won! go TAKA!
got hertas?
damnn that snare sounds fuckin delicious!
@gfaithw I thought they called him Baka Taka. "baka" means idiot in Japanese.
すごいな。D:
@RayCasserly hmm. maybe its because David Oriente was there.
@pianoromniac1 did he break?
do these guys make up their own solos for these competitions?
live by the herta, die by the herta
@RayCasserly been wonderin why he got second for a year now.
@RCMS74 Jeff Proserie is a very intelligent/fair judge and any decision he makes should be respected. Im just saying I love to get judged by him cuz he always makes the right calls
Only thing that probably killed him were the hiccups in the beginning.
@jglittlej Also, dynamic contrast was fairly minimal in this piece.
4:11 is crazy!!!
@TheLomaxChannel how exactly? because hes on BD? go watch oriente pummel this guy
who the hell beat this?!
@TheHmmreally he broke a hell of a lot less than the end snare who won i&e this year
pinky....
not even for bd. they set the line based on a variety of things. balance, marching, etc.
yeah!!! japanese power!! haha my type of people!! haha represent!!!!! ;)))
2:36 nice ghost hits.
@deadpool7991 haha i came up with that one ;D
He DEFINITELY played well. Still think Blue Stars dude has him.
you need to watch your pink on your left hand haha. be sure not to let it stick out a lot. but other than that....really good job. must be nice to be able to play that good haha
bluedevils---ehh
but this solo was so sickkkkkk!!
Asian Sensation FTW!
you shouldve won dude you got chops
@burndon1 i guess the guy himself don't like the ticks.
and whats the reason for him not winning????
@kmtobia Ignore whoever that is. But I have a question. I'm guessing everyone in the entire line individually has great hands, guessing that it's the listening and marching that sets people apart?
this is just a commercial for Dasani. :)
@kmtobia but i thought the best drummer on the line is the one with the highest singles
@RayCasserly im not sure if you saw david's solo but it was 5 times better than this
wow....wonderful job. but i'm only going to say one thing. you really need to watch your pinky on your left hand when you're playing traditional. must be nice to play that good XD
@mygarage95 audience doesnt mean anything, itcomes down to judges
3:41 I heard paradiddle race!!!
david riccobono much
@TheLomaxChannel alright, i still think david deserved to win, either way it was the judges decision
@djpocketplaya cause david oriente is boss
aged out. so 21 or 22
double meaning? ;p
hear some rcc in there.
4:34-35 he goes from diddles to 32nds O_O
he broke at 1:35. otherwise he might have won. oriente solo was flawless.
is he from rcc?
@xylojet
ach :D
He has many accents :D
sorry...
Umm, so, please teach me 2:36
@BabySteve47 i dissagree sorry:(
KeelanTobia was first. ahaha
hes tiny! lol but so much skillz packed into that tiny body!
i give davud Oriente his props but Takayuki Nakabe is way better ........... LETS GO DUKE
what the shit at the end.
His left pinky really bothers me
bd doesnt set their line as most high schools do. It just doesnt work that way. dont worry.
ASIAN REPRESENT :D
