- On July 5, 2020, Bishop Oscar Solis denied a man and his daughter Holy Communion on the tongue at the Cathedral of Madeleine in Salt Lake City.
Bishops do not have the authority to deny a faithful Catholic communion on the tongue, even in this time of COVID19 (see www.complicitclergy.com/2020/...)
A group of 21 Catholic physicians have stated Holy Communion distributed on the tongue is SAFER than distribution in the hand (see www.lifesitenews.com/news/21-...)
I am a Catholic priest and seeing this is painful to me. Yes, there might be rules in our dioceses that we implement due to Covid issue but denying someone of the Eucharist is unacceptable. Who are we to deny the Lord to someone who respectfully asks for the Lord.

As a priest you must be the one to take extra precaution not to get infected since you will infect more in your church.
And as a priest you know that every big church has a functional committees that deals with issues. It might have decided by the majority of the members by that particular church.
From when did covid become greater than God? God has always healed all who have faith the holy communion is the antidote to any illness, disease, sin , and can Even purify one possesd. Nothing is impossible, the infinite divine mercy of God is beyond human understanding. Its a miracle in itself
Instead of teaching pple to have more faith we find many priest teaching how they will die if they dont receive in hand and refuses to realize that they commit a grave sacrilege worthy of eternal damnation. No hand other than one ordained by the priest ly ministry can touch the host
A lay person has to receive it in the tongue preferably kneeling in reverence to the king and God Jesus Christ 🙏

The Catholic Churches around me locked their doors when they where most needed. My priest did nothing but sit on his 400 pound butt, it angered me and I haven’t been back to that church. I attended a out door mass and hour away every Sunday at the Sorrowful Mother Shrine in Ohio, can’t say I am very happy with the Church taking government money to close its doors! My doors stayed open to any in need at my house, my church didn’t, the government controlled it not Gods wishes. My neighbor a a Baptist minister and he turned down the government check and kept his doors open! My old church is in a area of much poverty but the priest wants a 350 thousand bell tower to ring all day to irritate all the families around it.
This is just too painful to watch! This man is coming to receive His Lord and Savior with all reverence...we do have pray for our church, for our priests. Jesus NEVER turned anyone away! The attack on the faithful comes from within! Please, Lord, do not deal with us according to our sins! Blessings to this man and to his family!

At my daughter's wedding, a family friend who was PROTESTant went up to recieve, and was suddenly paralyzed and could not advance. She asked me why, and, after the very holy priest had told her perhaps she wasn't ready, I told her she was in mortal sin and needed to go to confession.
She got pissed at me, and retorted, "So why did my husband go freely?"
Now I see that at that Mass the husband was infected by satan, and for that reason, left his wife and went to Florida to waste his fortune on women and drugs.

Yesterday, 8-14-22, at my Parrish, the Priest told me after Mass that I in sync with satan in dis-obedience because I was requesting receiving the Holy Eucharist on the tongue. He also said Good Luck finding a Church that will disperse on the tongue now. Due to the pandemic.
So today I heard on Fox News that the Catholic Rosary is being called an extremist symbol??? I believe the day is coming that I may watch Mass on the Internet or stop all together.
As a Protestant myself and interested in the history of the church, I cannot place any comments on how the Mass is conducted and the Eucharist distributed. However, seeing the father and his daughter waiting until the end for the body and blood of Christ and not receiving it broke my heart. May God bless them.

This happened to me yesterday. During confession a month ago I expressed to the priest why I haven't been to mass is because I cannot receive on the tongue. He told me to just make sure I'm the last one in line. It was fine for the next few Sundays. But on Divine Mercy Sunday (yesterday) the Msr flat out refused then turned his back on me and ignored me like I wasn't even there. He wrecked me. He utterly wrecked me. I was left standing there not knowing what to do or think in front of the whole parish. It's the next day and it still stings terribly.

We should be strong and must pray continuously for the conversion of such priests; so that the Catholic traditions might be restored once again!

Horrifying because he didn't follow the rules for receiving Eucharist at the beginning of the pandemic and placed the elderly and immunocompromised at risk of death by not wearing a mask when everyone else was?! Get a grip. This is a false christian and a false catholic, pretending to be faithful but just showing up to make a scene to further his politics. He's making a mockery of the Eucharist. Some Masses may have issues and these issues need to be corrected. But to call The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in the Ordinary Form evil is just plain wrong. This Bishop and this Priest need prayers. This father and daughter should have been allowed to receive Holy Communion. Hopefully this will be addressed and this error will not happen again.

I am so sorry! I just came across this video and started crying. I am so sorry for that man and his daughter. I wish I knew who he is. I apologize to him and his daughter. I am a priest and breaks my heart to see that happening. Will offer my Mass for him and his daughter today.

If only we could know for sure when we are being disobedient and when we are not. I took my mask off in church shortly before receiving the Eucharist, and the reason was that I was having a hard time breathing and was feeling light headed (I have allergy/sinus issues).....at first I just uncovered my nose but that didn't help much, so I just took it off, and figured it was ok since everyone is sitting soooo far apart from each other, but according to an usher lady the NEXT Sunday, the priest said it WAS NOT ok, so I said I can only cover my mouth because of my problem breathing, and after arguing back and forth with her and one other lady they said they will ask the priest if its ok, and they made sure that I did not go inside until they got the ok.....thankfully the priest gave the ok (was a better priest) that I only cover my mouth.
My Sspx priest was in the womb of his mother when the priest did this to her when she attended the Novus Ordo. She was heavy with child. My priest is truly a gift from God. God graced him with an incredible intellect and character

It goes beyond tradition, receiving the Holy Communion in any other way than on the tongue, kneeling and from consecrated hands of a priest is profanation! We have to pray for our priests and clergy.

R R The Church whom is the Bride of Our Blessed Lord Jesus allows the laity to receive the Holy Eucharist in our hands. Therefore, it is not profane. It is more reverent to receive on the tongue. We are called to obedience to the Pope and to the Bishops. To not be obedient is to lose ones catholicity and become protestant. We then must repent and confess our sin of pride to come back to our Catholicity and communion with the Church, with Jesus.
If a Priest, Bishop or even the Pope himself told us that we could not receive on the tongue, but only on the hand, God would value our obedience to that clergyman more than our desire to receive on the tongue.

I had similar situation when I was 10, the priest ordered me to stand up from my knees. I was a child.... Very broken heart. I had to forgive but I remember.

Why were you denied the Eucharist?
Yes when i were 10, never do it again, God's teaching us daily through our church. Praying so we can be a God's called to follow Jesus , Priest have to take care thousands in our parish, don't make him bend his back every time , Be holy then all members will be holy. God know our heart, so hand or tongue is no different
There is so much change happening especially in our Catholic Church. I felt so estrange but I prayed to the Holy Spirit for guidance and understanding. As an obedient child to be under the protection of a parent, I submitted and accepted the Holy Host by hand. It dawned unto me, that it’s not so much about the way I received but tears flowed unknowingly because of my thirst or longing for the Holy Eucharist. Indeed, “Cor Ad Cor Loquitor “, heart speaks unto heart. Let’s pray for the intercession of our Blessed Mother in this most trying time. 🙏🏾

It is impossible to contract the covid virus from receiving the Blessed Sacrament (Communion) on the tongue or from Holy Water.
Fill the Holy Water fonts and distribute Communion with respect. Those who believe in the Real Presence know what I'm talking about.....

Local synod's and decisions not on matters of faith and morals are NOT protected from error. This does not remove the sanctity and God given grace of the Catholic faith. That happened to me in the Basilica in Knock, Co. Mayo a couple of months ago.....I insisted and was finally given Communion on the tongue in the sacristy after mass. This is not only embarrassing but I'm sure the man and his daughter were made to feel guilty. This is scandalous!

This issue is that with virus going around churches in London and England say that communion must be recieved on the hand not the tounge. Now I just read the description thing underneath the vid which said study shows that recieving on the tongue is safer but the priest was probably unaware of that and insisted on the hand. Some priests are very strict on rules.

@@mlmgjjj8252 studies showed in Italy and other countries it is more an infectious risk of giving holy communion in the hand than on the tongue. The priest is making contact from one set of hands to another to another. One person comes into the church, wipes their face, sneezes into their hand, etc. of course communion on the tongue is much less of an infectious risk. For me personally though communion in the hand is sacrilege. It is to Jesus as well. No matter what changes were “introduced “ into the church.

The same church is doing the most damage to the already fragil church. My wife and I went to a church about a month ago (not our parish) but sometimes you go somewhere out of town on a Sunday and you don't want to miss mass, so we went to this other catholic church, and my wife and I were the only ones that received the comunion in the mouth. I know because we waited till last. The priest did not denied it to us but at the end when mass was ended, he stood at the door saying goodbye to people, well he did not even make aye contact with us. I felt really bad... is this what our church has degrated to??? This video just makes my heart ache.. my son is about to do his first comunion next week, and I just saw myself in that dad with his daughter. This is just- im loss of words. Yeah I understand they encourage you to receive on the "hand" but they cannot denied it like that!!! Are they afraid of catching the virus and dying??? You are making a big thing out of nothing. Communion in the hand has been acceptable for many years. And right now, there is a very good reason not to give Communion on the tongue. Think of other peoples' health instead of your own unsubstantiated superstitions. If the Pope and the Vatican have authorised Communion in the hand, who are you to set yourself up as superior?

The Priests did not deny the Blessed Sacrament to these obstinate people. These people refused to accept Communion in the safe way it was offered. THEY said NO to Jesus.

I can guarantee you this is not the product of scientific research, it will just be their opinion. And as such it is not ‘expert’ whatever their qualifications are. It is just their opinion. If we have to rely on opinion, and that is all we have, let’s use logic. So, on the tongue, you have a very real chance of accidental touching of the tongue and saliva. On the hand, you can place the host down onto the hand with no risk of contact, and even if you touch, it is still far less risky than the mouth where saliva, and the virus, lives.
Also, people are meant to sanitize their hands immediately before they rise to take Communion. Ushers should enforce this, and they do. At least for awhile, the hands of the communicants are germ free anyway. However, you cannot sanitize the mouth, lips, tongue and breath.
Even if there is no touching, the priests hand is being breathed on with every communicant. The virus is transmitted by ‘aerosol’, which means microscopic saliva droplets in the air we breathe out. This is increased when we speak. Like as every communicant says Amen. On the hand, the communicant receives while wearing his mask, steps aside, lifts the mask momentarily, and places the host in his mouth.
Really, simple logic tells you there is more risk on the tongue.
The Church knows this, that is why we have stopped Communion on the tongue during the pandemic. These ‘experts’ are wrong by simple common sense that anyone can work out for themselves if they have an open mind and seek the truth.

Brothers and sisters in Christ let us not lose hope, but rather let’s entrust our hearts to The sacred heart of Jesus and immaculate heart of Mary. This should inspire us to learn and defend the tradition from our fathers that we may not fall into the deception even if it seems like most do it.
