@@wwhhiittnneeyy I use a silicone sponge. Yes it gets sudsy and it doesn't hold any bacteria, there's no where for it to stick to and hide. You can throw it in the dishwasher, they're great and I will always use them. Mine is from Bed, Bath and Beyond- it is Kuhn Rikon Stay Clean Silicone Scrubber. I like the shape of it too. It's pretty much a rectangle with a curve in the middle so it fits well in your hand and doesn't slip out. Good luck!

Getting ideas on what others do not buy and why, is a great way to reevaluate what I do and don't buy and why. Such a healthy habit to let go and zero in on what you love.

I taking steps to this. I always felt guilty with the items I bought that was suppose to make me feel "full", but it didnt. none of it did. Now I have an awareness, like I woke up a third eye or something where I see through the BS of ads and the "must-haves". Its now funny to me now. Now that I practiced the word "NO" to things, I am practicing the word on people and events and the word NO has been SO BENEFICIAL!!!! omg. I never learned this with a hoarder mother and enabler dad. Now NO is my daily montra and I love the new me.

I went to a friend’s parents’ house a week ago, and noticed how beautiful it was. It wasn’t minimalist, per se-there were plenty of antique knick knacks, tea cup sets, duplicate items-but everything was organized and intentional. I aspire to have that sort of intentionality! Not just buying what you see at the store, impulsively, but carefully thinking about what you want or need and getting what is high quality and lasting. The opposite of collecting junk. How often do we buy things that we consider junk within a year! Often I want to just get rid of everything and start over. Maybe I’ll be able to do that once I move.

I've noticed certain body language that I see on various young UA-camrs, and I think it's the expressive trend of the generation: circular hand-movements, nodding with many words, and slowing down their speech as they approach the end of a sentence in order to give extra emphasis to each word. Also ending many sentences with an up-turned, questioning tone, and sometimes ending a sentence by going into a laugh-cry, not because they think something's funny, but to try to be funny and a little mocking at the same time. This fascinates me as a student of body language and theatre, but I also think it's a style of talking that they naturally copy from each other because it's trendy now. I suppose each generation has its own mannerisms that are new.

I think it’s perfectly valid to encourage your viewers to live sustainable lives and think about the products they’re consuming, but I think your message would be better received if there was less mocking. You mocked people for their interests, which they can’t help. I really admire your lifestyle but it’s simply unkind and a little stuck up to do that to people who in no way deserve it or provoked you.
Also, present other options if you find the products you mention to be so distasteful: thrifting is a wonderful and sustainable way to consume many of these goods without contributing to many of the underlying issues a new product would hold.

I sewed my own maxi pads from no-pill fleece, old t-shirts, and my husband's worn out socks. They work great! I soak them in water overnight before tossing them in the wash. I recommend not using t-shirt material as the layer against your skin though, if you're in a really hot area (like outside in summer) it can give you a heat rash. Use linen for that. Also, use plastic snaps to secure the tabs, metal ones will rust if you soak the pad before throwing it in the wash.

Just a thought for the cotton rounds: I was just watching another video where a woman said she regrets buying reusable cotton rounds because they get easily lost in the wash. Instead, she uses a wet cloth that she puts some oil on to remove her makeup. She can get three or so uses out of it before putting it in the wash and it doesn’t get lost as easily. I had thought about getting cotton rounds too until I saw her video.

I don't buy tons of makeup anymore.I have whittled down my amount. In each category, I only have 1-2 items. (Except lip products) I am not aloud to buy any eyeshadow until all 8 palettes are gone.
My full wardrobe (not including shoes) is now down to about 45 items at last count, soon to be much less.(It's purge time) I am now adding a much needed new pair of loafers and sandels. (no heels for me either, at present I only own 5 pair of shoes) My 30 year old birkenstocks sandles died this summer.Yes I said 30 years! The sole split and so did the cork.☹
A long time ago I invested in good set of stainless steel pots and pans, 2 cast iron skillets sizes, and an 8 quart enameled cast iron pot. I have not purchased any pots and pans in 20 years. I will never have to buy any again. I don't use non stick skillets. They don't last and the coating is bad for us too consume. I don't buy plastic ware or straws. We use SS metal ones. I use SS tumblers for my water, coffee and smoothies I make at home. 🥰
