No, I'd rather have Primus than Les stuck playing one thrashy album with his bass turned down, and then nothing but hard rock albums for the next 37 years.
You can hear Sid pretty clearly in the mix on this show. His biggest problem is that he would keep stopping playing so he could shake his fist in the air and pose. ua-cam.com/video/QBVDSz5Qd6g/v-deo.htmlsi=5BGSJBDqblQFUsUe
I would legit listen to full version of Flea, Steve, Les (Primus actually has done a cover of Puppets but the first intro but I still imagine that's how he'd have played it had he actually joined Metallica instead of Jason) and Paul, they sounded absolutely fucking awesome
Holy shit that was brilliant! Thoughtful and hilarious and still super musical Think my favorite part was the sir Paul mugging. Even when playing complex and heavy bass lines... He someone could still always mug for the camera.
Could you rate/talk about the bassist John Springate? He was a member of the Glitterband in the 70s and has some solid tune IMO! Best album to feature him might be "Remember Me This Way [Live]", especially tracks like "Rock N Roll Part 2" or "The Wanderer"
Here mr Sapko proves a great knowledge on technique, sound tone, history of music (bass wise), and arrangement. Until now one of the best video by him. Great job. 👏🏻
Les Claypool auditioned for Metallica in real life after Ciff's death Some years ago Les played an slapping mini cover of the intro of Master of Puppets in the Primus shows
Les Claypool actually did audition for Metallica at one point! Awesome to see hear how that could've sounded but then missing out of Primus would've sucked like Primus sucks.
I’m a guitarist but I wish I was a prolific bass player, I’m envious of the sounds and funk that bassist churn out… One of my favorite bass players is Joey DeMaio of ManOWar… I was fortunate enough to see them at Lamours in Brooklyn New York in 1986 when my friends and I went there to by carnivore tickets and the guys from manowar were using Lamours to practice for their show that night, they invited me and my friends in to wait for the manager to buy tickets but in the meantime let us watch them jam!!! Honestly I’m surprised Trujillo wasnt doing the flea stuff
He most likely was, but Lars probably made sure his Master Volume was set at 0.
You made me think I somehow left a comment I never remembered. Thought I was off the Irish again.
@@HeroinChrist i see a surprising amount of jimmy peep holes lol
@@urso_polar_nz classic Lars move
I mean, it sounded a lot like how he played while un Suicidas Tendencies
The Paul McCartney one took me by surprise. Killed me 😂
It was so spot on!!!!
Only Macca could make Metallica sound like actual music...
“so sergeant pepper took you by surprise”
I think the most impressive thing is that you managed to keep the ‘Sid sneer’ going for so long 😂
A glimpse at what could have been. Les Claypool actually auditioned to replace Cliff Burton and now, I kind of wish he'd gotten the gig.
Imagine slap bass section on One breakdown though
Just because he’s a good player doesn’t mean he’s a good fit
you can google primus - master of puppets and see the real Les playing that same section.
@@jvomkrieg Thanks for the tip, I'll check it out.

Fantastic "Orion" Steve Harris bass line!!! You rock!!! 🤘🎸
0:40 are we sure our precious sid could even play that many notes?
Apparently Sid spent an all nighter playing along to a Ramones album and actually became semi-competent, but that was shortly before he died.
I actually liked the Sid one 🫣.
Should have had someone standing behind the amp playing his part
Yes, he could play that many notes, but don't tell anyone that b/c that's not fuckin punk!! We're just here to break shit and cut ourselves 😂😂😂

I wanna see McCartney play other people's stuff now!!!
Love the davie504 bit at the end
Slappp!!
For a more accurate Sid Vicious you should have played with your bass unplugged and another Danny playing bass only just visible at the side.
I think he was saving that for the Jason Newstead joke
I would legit listen to full version of Flea, Steve, Les (Primus actually has done a cover of Puppets but the first intro but I still imagine that's how he'd have played it had he actually joined Metallica instead of Jason) and Paul, they sounded absolutely fucking awesome
Primus Loved Doing The Master of Puppets intro they did it a lot between 1990-1992 and then Woodstock (1994 Edition)
@@UrFavGuyInABassProShopHat12345 Yeah, they’ve also covered The Thing That Should Not Be on Rhinoplasty and do a really good version of it
Loved the way you sneaked come together into Paul’s behs
That jaunty little McCartney run is fabulous!
I’m surprised by how good each one is
Why is Paul McCartney so good as a metal bassist?
That davie504 one is phenomenal
As much as the whole video is very well made - the last bit takes the cake 😂, nailed it.
Because Paul McCartney is an exceptional talent is my guess.
Take the opening riff to Dig a Pony, tune the instruments, and run it through a tube screamer and you've got yourself a fantastic metal cover.
Would have loved to be able to see the full version of Steve Harris' Orion. Those are some insane triplets.
Okay but the Paul one was crazy good.
Holy crap. You killed me with the McCartney piece.
krist novoselic for metalica would be interesting, or krist for guns n roses
Danny! For the love of Jaco! Please do a full version of the McCartney one!!!
The macca one sounds so good
Just goes to show how much the bass player decides how the song feels
That was far funnier than it had any right to be - well done sir
the best long form video from you yet
I would love a video on how to mimic famous bass players styles like you do in this video
Great stuff as always!
Paul McCartney had me 😂 very good
killer paul mccartney impression
Hahaha !!!! You really got me with the Davie bit. THAT was GREAT.
I love your channel my man, great and super fun video
Love the steve Harris gallop.....I molded my style around his but with a pick😅😊....well,,Steve Harris mixed with Dave ellefson.
Holy shit that was brilliant! Thoughtful and hilarious and still super musical
Think my favorite part was the sir Paul mugging. Even when playing complex and heavy bass lines... He someone could still always mug for the camera.
that was great! just one complaint…I just wish it was longer. lol
Great to see Rattus in the background, big up
Great playing mate, love your work!

Another great video Danny!
Best davie504 impersonation ever!!
Effing brilliant!
The sid vicious part! The face
That's fantastic 🤘
That flea one was so god dam funky and i like it...
Paul McCartney doing seek and destroy

That Paul McCartney one was very interesting.
Davie would never say any bass must be stopped. 😂😂 everything else yes, but not a bass. 😂❤
He got Sid's stink face dead right
Very creative shit, dude! Keep it up!
Your mccartney bassface is A+
Great work! What bass is that in the Les Claypool scene? You make it sound divine esp. as a claypool mimic!

Great vid! Really enjoyed it!!
Behind that nutty persona is one serious bassist hiding inside.
Low-key McCartney’s one was pretty nice
Your best yet. No style is out of your league, very impressed 👍
Best video I’ve seen today 🏆
Awesome!
OMG. I was about to piss myself. That was funny.
Dude, McCartney killed me 😂
I like that bro 🤘🤘
So funny and yet so serious.....you MUST be Irish!
Got to love Danny
Loved the last one! Was NOT expecting that. Les Claypool has done some slap versions of Master of Puppets in live shows at some point.

shoulda had your shirt off for Flea!!!
Love the rattus on the wall!
Bro I need a tutorial or smth on the Harris bassline sounds sick as hell
The Steve Harris version of Orion needs to be recorded in full.
awesome :)
You should check out American Head Charge's bassist, Chad Hanks. Dude was a monster on a six string, RIP
Flea version sounds like Suicidal Tencencies "Send Me Your Money" ))))
Danny, where's Entwistle?
Do jamerson next!
Thank you
Flea playing Enter Sandman does kinda sound like it could be an Infectious Grooves tune. So it makes sense
McCartney was excellent. Nice surprise cameo by Davie504
How about if Davie504 played for Slayer?
The Sid Vicious effort was most excellent and required immense skill and precision. 👍
Paul McCartney! 😂 tremendous!
