Steve i like your comment Long live the 69s era what a beno we had ,,, The music was so diverse ,,,We had plenty of choice , These guys were great lol Jane x💞💞💞💞💞
It is alleged the reason why Chris Curtis was kicked out the band was because when the Searchers were in Singapore, Curtis was seen wearing a white coat and claiming to be a Doctor. His mental state was having an impact on the band.
Chris Curtis-drums and vocals, John McNally- rythym guitar and vocals. Frank Allen- bass guitar and vocals and Mike Pender- lead vocals and lead guitar.
I won't give the so-called "R&R H.O.F." one bit of recognition until they decide to induct the Searchers! That should have happened over 30 years ago and that just shows you how ridiculous the whole thing is anyway.
@@TheMusicalElitistthey actually wrote a lot of amazing tunes. Til I met you, I’ll be missing you, he’s got no love, too many miles, it’s just the way to name a few. And not only that, just because they did songs written by other people doesn’t mean they weren’t a good band. They were probably the second most popular group to come from Liverpool, Gerry and the Pacemakers being right up there with them, who also should be inducted
without Tony Jackson this is not the same its weak because Tony is not singing with Mike, Mike Pender and Tony Jackson were the searchers and Tony had a unique brilliant voice . Stupid drummer Crummy Curtis should have been booted out something i feel the band will have regret ever since they faded from 1966. I am a fan but not of a stupid Crummy Curtis who i feel was their pitfall and took substances and was a nutter. if you listen to Tony Jackson record a stage door rare track 1966 he holds his own .even when he left the searchers in 1964 his voice is great even singing with the vibrations so to me the searchers were never the same. Mike formed his own Mike Penders Searchers in 1986 so it was obvious their was no blend . and in 1991 their is a clip of mike and Tony singing and having a great time and they sounded great after all the years apartfrom1964 to 1991 check it out . RIP Jackson 2003 cannot say the same for Curtis 2006 .
he sure is "stiff" on the drums, you should be relaxed when drumming, play with your wrists, not always your whole arm. I was wondering why he was wearing shades
The Searchers brilliant group. The Mersey sound was great.
Best ever for me, but the originals, thereabouts.
Long live "the jangle"......we could use it nowadays.....
This song never sounds right without Tony Jackson doing the lead.
Great band
It's entertaining to hear The Searchers do "Jenny Take A Ride".
This was the last show with Chris Curtis
Those gorgeous well polished winklepickers!
60s BRITISH BANDS.

Curtis was a stage name; his real name was Chris Crummy...not fan friendly!

Johnny Rivers, Grass Roots and Three Dog Night ALL BELONG IN THE RRHOF IMHO. It’s all politics on selecting whose worthy of induction, sadly.
Well The Searchers were essentially a covers band. Why should they be inducted?

And this is why concerts only lasted about 1/2 hour back then.....unlike a Zeppelin show (2.75-3 hours on average)....
