Fun fact: the “best” possible ending requires you to kill Harper. But there is a glitch where I think if you play through the campaign once and shoot menendez. If you then replay the campaign and shoot Harper, there is an error in the coding where I’m assuming the value for Harper being alive in the previous campaign overrides the current campaigns treatment of him being dead, resulting in him to still appear alive in later missions as if he miraculously survived somehow; making both Farid and Harper survive.
@@Vizzo-YT just to give you detailed instructions on a video I found because it’s hard to find it mentioned online + idk if what I said is completely correct. The video says 1:finish campaign with Harper alive. 2:rewind to Achilles veil but don’t start. 3: go to campaign menu. 4:do mission replay and select Achilles veil. 5: kill Harper. 6: not a step but everything should be confirmed in Odysseus when Farid saves Chloe and Harper appears in the next scene and kills Salazar. There’s a few dialogue problems but I don’t remember noticing much, apparently sometimes Harper will talk and section for example doesn’t acknowledge his existence. Furthermore I think this permanently makes it so that Harper is alive even if you kill him in Achilles veil from then on- meaning you probably can’t play the campaign with Harper dead anymore.
Just to let y’all know, my COD Black Ops 2 Story glitched one time. I think it was because I hadn’t played it since the last save and it filled in the blanks. But I essentially got the best best ending. So, I started off at the Ship, and apparently on my end, Harper was alive! Along with Farid (until he sacrifices himself for Karma) but yeah. They were all alive. And then I still got the ending where David meets Mason again, Menendez is absolutely defeated, Karma is alive and well, Harper is alive, China and America are at peace, etc.

Imagine if they put half as much effort into the plots of these modern campaigns. I get that none of these stories are all too great, they all have plotholes and are over the top and dramatic, but I actually felt emotional attachment to characters back in the day. He totally knew, I caught on right away. He doesn’t have that eye thing for show, it’s a bug. He said we are ready as soon as Harper was, to show the player he was a step ahead
Truly Salazar isn’t just playing the us armed forces for Raul Menendez, but also had the backing of Rodolfo Parra. His vaqueros and task force 142 counterpart for defection to check dossiers on every operator within task force 142 in case he confronts these men. And in case he wants to avenge his late comrade. It’s why he joined Menendez and Cordis Die. Not as some Nicaraguan with some sense of loyalty. But too of personal tragedy. He doesn’t want any us armed forces to go after Raul Menendez and his associates. He’s also an agent for the federation of South America as well. As associated with Gabriel Rorke.

Calm down now man...@@usadroopymeat1099
Fun fact: the “best” possible ending requires you to kill Harper. But there is a glitch where I think if you play through the campaign once and shoot menendez. If you then replay the campaign and shoot Harper, there is an error in the coding where I’m assuming the value for Harper being alive in the previous campaign overrides the current campaigns treatment of him being dead, resulting in him to still appear alive in later missions as if he miraculously survived somehow; making both Farid and Harper survive.
I'm going to try this thanks
@@Vizzo-YT I don’t remember if that’s how you do it, but it definitely worked on the 360 when I was a kid. Good luck
@@Lucky52903 thank you a lot I think I did something like this when I was a kid because I remember everyone was alive
In odysseus i have farid save chloe and harper kill salazar idk how i did it
How is it this game still looks damn good
Because this was when graphics were starting to reach the point where it was almost looking as realistic as it could get
nobody can ever replace woods , but damm was harper a good close second
Yep they made him a failure and they lied to us
3:27 Yeah you can tell Harper was ready to die, listen to this line well. He’s accepted his fate …
"To those you serve, your life means nothing." His delivery of that line is absolutely ridiculous. This game was too good
The best cod campaign in my opinion
Just to let y’all know, my COD Black Ops 2 Story glitched one time. I think it was because I hadn’t played it since the last save and it filled in the blanks. But I essentially got the best best ending.
So, I started off at the Ship, and apparently on my end, Harper was alive! Along with Farid (until he sacrifices himself for Karma) but yeah. They were all alive. And then I still got the ending where David meets Mason again, Menendez is absolutely defeated, Karma is alive and well, Harper is alive, China and America are at peace, etc.
Nope someone has already tested somebody has already done that find some truth and evidence by watching those video and see the endings and we get nothing no thank you
If I were farid that shot on Menendez would have been simple. Don't reach your damn gun closer

Yep either way we get nothing in return
Bullshit. You would’ve been clipped and you know it 😂
Farid’s life meant something to harper
That transition from Farid to Section POV tho
It's pretty sad that Harper starts calling Farid egghead as soon as Menendez hands him the gun. Signaling that what he's saying isn't an act and that Farid has to kill him to survive and that he's accepted his fate without blowing Farid's cover. At least that's what I always thought.
He quietly tells him to do it to pull the trigger Harper was a bro

Imagine if they put half as much effort into the plots of these modern campaigns. I get that none of these stories are all too great, they all have plotholes and are over the top and dramatic, but I actually felt emotional attachment to characters back in the day. And in Black Ops II, they at least TRIED to switch up the formula with its multiple endings, branching narrative, more open ended level design, loadouts and collectibles, etc. Black Ops I was probably my fav campaign, but Black Ops II definitely did the most to innovate the formula.
I'm pretty sure there's a way to get Harper and Karma to live while still getting the good ending.

Heroes are mean't to die, not live long enough to become the villain
