  • Gary Pressy has been behind the organ for 2,600+ consecutive Cubs games.
So much thanks to Gary and Wrigley Field for allowing us to come in and film with him.
Also, this is probably the most nervous I've ever been to play an instrument on this channel.

Watching the Pirates at Cubs game right now, and they just announced that you will be retiring following the 2019 season, after 33 years and never missing a day.
I mean, WOW...33 years! What an amazing tenure Gary!
I've been a devoted Chicago Cubs fan, since my first grade year, back in 1990. So since you began as the Cubs Organist in 1987, I've been listening to your wonderful numbers since I was 5 to 6 years old. Mind boggling!
The numbers you mentioned for players, brings back a ton of memories from my childhood, but the one that really hit home, was when you mentioned when Harry Caray would say: "Alright Gary, LET ME HEAR YA!" My God...I remember that so, very vividly! 😁
I'm actually from South, Texas, near Corpus Christi. But I became a fan back in 1990, due the time of WGN being a Superstation during that time, just like when TBS used to be, and they would always broadcast the Cubs games during the season nationally(along with the Bulls).
Living so far from Chicago, I have always dreamt to visit the Friendly Confines, and have even said: "to also hear those classic tunes from the organist." I don't think I'll get that previalge to do so.
But, it has been an absolute pleasure to know that I've grown up listening to your craft, and you have been a part of my lifelong experience as a Chicago Cubs fan!
I bid you adieu and Godspeed Mr. Gary Pressy. And once again...it has been an absolute pleasure listening to your work my whole life!
    -Steve

Fun fact: the “Charge!” tune was written in the 1940s by a USC junior in the marching band and originally played at USC football games. The Dodgers later used this after they moved to Los Angeles and it was in the 1959 World Series against the other Chicago team that this tune was heard on national tv and was picked up by other teams after that.

All those threes and multiples of three - calling attention to - virtually making a fetish of the game’s noble equality. Equality, that is, of opportunity.

I don't know how I ended up on this video but, I really enjoyed it and it just reminds me how many people bless us with their music that we aren't even conscious of it. God bless you, Gary Pressey

Nothing like live organ music at a baseball game. As a Yankee fan I can still hear the organ played at Yankee Stadium in the sixties/seventies at Yankee Stadium. Not that it isn't good now, but it now has to be fit in between pop and rock sound bytes. When I'm at a ballgame all I really want to hear is the live organ. Thank you for this great video. Great job by the interviewer and the interviewee!

4:21 “Built For Customer Name” - they couldn’t be bothered to put the actual name here when it’s the Gary of the Chicago Cubs?? 😂

Maybe they (Wrigley Field) left it intentionally blank just because they knew someone would eventually notice it

I mean.. someone had to intentionally make the plaque that said "customer name"... Why even stick it on there if you can't put an actual name unless it's a display model
