As I was going to St. Ives I spied a bike, Ed Pratt astride Aishola rode behind that bloke I swear it real, I do not joke They had no cat, be glad of that But on that bike, the two were sat Up steep hills, down to the shore I hope these two ride many more
With Ed creating quality content like this it would be smart for a cycling-related company to integrate with him in some way, be that gear bikes or trips. Such a good spokesperson for cycling and adventure
Hi Ed, your tandem videos popped up after posting my own mini tandem tour a few weeks ago. My wife and I are now making our way through your World Unicycle Tour, which is keeping us thoroughly entertained through our 10 days of Covid quarantine after testing positive last week for this bloody virus. It’s nice to see a fellow Somerset explorer on UA-cam. We have currently just finished the China series and have moved onto South Asia, it looked an incredible adventure, one in very jealous of! Well done, and a massive thanks for the videos, and helping us get through what would otherwise have been a miserable week!!
Growing up and living in Cornwall I'm still in love with this county, watching you guys ride around the coast is wonderful. Hope you enjoyed every minute
Thanks for the video! I’d like to hear Alshola’s impression of the UK. Rather than letting her be polite and only mention the positive things I’d like her to talk about the less than fabulous things as well. Best Wishes to you both!
Apropos soundtrack reminiscent of China tour (with the SCM,Will)… “Trust fall” onto bed, being shattered (love it) Awesome shirt (by Aishola), ….. I’m smiling, ear 2 ear. Thank you , Ed & Aishola !
You are a great storyteller, your trips are beautifully videoed, your observations and commentary are excellent and despite the fact that you and your squeeze come from opposites sides of the globe you appear so well matched. It bouys me to see you folks living out your lives and showing us a bit of that. All the best for a good trip and a safe home. Be happy, nothing else matters.
What a trip! I've always done solo tours in Asia and Europe and love seeing the beauty of doing it with a special someone on a tandem - will have to try to persuade the other half... Ps. ordered the T-shirt - love the design!
I'm just bingeing this series spontaneously, it looks like so much fun. Can't help dreaming of doing something like it in my next holiday. :) All the best to you two!
Caravan club seem to have a policy of always trying to put you up if you are under your own steam, bike or walking. Dont have to be members They have saved me a few times with somewhere to camp. I'm a massive fan of the caravan club.
3:02 Trewethett Farm Campsite is a 10 minute bike ride away from my Grandfather's childhood home, now called Willapark Manor Hotel in Tintagel. My grandpa used to play in what is now the Merlin's Cave tourist attraction there.
After 20 years of trips I finally took my loaded bike into work to weigh it, 43kg, with my travel guitar, no wonder it feels so fast when I take all the crap off! My best to you both
That is a sweet camp site and it is free...only bicycle tourist can understand the magic of exploring on a bicycle. I had many, many situations like that where I was at the last moment just stopped on the side of the road in Port Townsend Washington and this lady stopped to check if I was okay...when all said and done. I had a place to camp right on the beach overlooking the Pacific Ocean, a Pizza , two beers , a small bottle of bourbon and a piece of carrot cake...how do you like them apples? Your videos are awesome with great story telling and editing and your girl is just lovely in her attitude and sense of adventure. Great stuff man.
Hi Ed. My girlfriend broke up with me a couple days ago Snd I’ve been feeling pretty rough. Watching you two hss given me so much cheer. Finding it hard to go shout my normal day but these series is really inspiring me to get out of bed. Moneys tight st the moment being st uni. But I’m going to put some aside for the patreon. Thank you both for making me feel better. Amazing couple snd I’m jealous of your adventure.
The Cornish coast had a reputation for piracy. That "arrrrr" accent that's supposed to sound all piratey? That's an exaggerated version of the West Country accent.
That road into St Ives is very busy. we didn't enjoy that part. We road the other direction into Camborne for the night. From there we were given a great map that we could use the little back lanes. So much nicer.
Cornish pasties are a staple here in South Australia, with our very important links to Cornwall through the brave intrepid souls that came here t work the copper mines on the York Peninsula.
12:50 I got a pasty in St-Ives, 3 bites in, literally rips it out of my hand, I went to get another one because I hadn’t eaten all day, have a couple bites and it takes it again, they are ruthless lol
Hello to you. You are a very nice couple. Your idea of riding a bike on a very interesting route in Great Britain is for me a geography lesson about this country. I've been watching you from the first episode. now I'm watching 4. Greetings from Poland.
Love the use of the one in a googleplex track on this, one of my faves from the world tour. Ed next time please put smaller chainrings on the bike! When I am somewhere hilly on the mountain bike fully laden I use a 30t chainring with my huge cassette, that sort of thing would be appropriate for a tour like this and you could ride up everything even with all the weight.
You should have used county flags for the tandem as you crossed county boundaries. I'm loving this series. How did you find the Brooks saddles? They looked new.
When I'm touring and can't find a suitable place to camp I just look for a place to lie down. Assuming it isn't going to rain that is lol. I've slept in ditches, behind hedges, in a graveyard, on the loading dock of a post office, anywhere I could be out of sight. No tent or sleeping bag, at most I'd roll out a tarp to lie on. Never got much rest those nights but more than I would have gotten riding through the night.
Living basically on the Lizard Peninsula I was looking forward to seeing you go around the roads around here - but as I have ridden a fair few of them, I can fully understand why you did!
16:17 I always recon Georgia would make an epic cycle country. They have hills for Downhillers and the Black sea for sun worshippers, and some amazing scenery for tour cyclists. Skiing in the winter. It's a damn near perfect. If only the government could shake their USSR past and focus on tourism.
I never found camping kit weight to be too much of a problem up hills. It was usually the tires that made a difference and having low enough gearing. Not saying it is the case, but maybe you are used to more watts per kg? ;) ;) A big bonus: you get the lovely company of a nice lady :P The drag advantages of a tandem don't help much up hills. Due to the way air resistance rapidly ramps up. Great series, really enjoying it.
You need to take a few cow bells with you to attach to the bike at night, it will startle thieves and will alert you… when not in use, just stuff your socks in them to silence them 😊🔔❤️

18:28 minutes of pure joy, amazement and respect!
You're such a great storyteller. Love your editing. I can feel the pain and the joy of your journey.
Thanks!
Brad Armstrong.
What a wonderful guy. Donated 370k $ for school in bag charity. Felt good to remember him again.
Yes. Absolutely! Why I've donated and watched every video.

Whenever I see this guy upload, I am happily surprised. He is my most favorite cyclist on the planet. Inspired.

@@aisholaaisaeva hey!
Maybe we don't have to go uphill. Maybe we can just stay here forever.
I also say this at the bottom of a hill on any long ride. :)
I'm loving these series, makes me excited to start touring myself again!
"30% huh, good thing we don't have to climb that"
Things said moments before disaster
This is such a relaxing channel to watch, really glad stumbled upon you guys 😊 putting out crazy miles well done to the both of you!
Lovely bit at 7:12 with the hairpin bend incline & music that suited it :)
Great music in the entire video. Chef Kiss!

I think more than a friendship 🤔

It’s not luck. To say that is to insult Ed’s personality/person/being.

“This one didn’t age quite so well”
@@tazgirl_ I blame the weight of UA-cam, and the pressure to perform.

We walked this coast line and it's wonderful to see it from a different seat. Great series.
Thank you for this nice tandem tour.
I'm looking forward to the next video
Best regards
Dagmar🤗😍
Love the series, just realized that a tandem is almost like two unicycles that have formed a couple.
You (Ed and Aishola) are amazing! Thank you for the fantastic videos!
What a nice gesture from the Topman from the caravan club 👍🇬🇧
What a trip! I've always done solo tours in Asia and Europe and love seeing the beauty of doing it with a special someone on a tandem - will have to try to persuade the other half...

Great series, thoroughly enjoying watching your further adventures, thank you both.
So nice!!! Thanks for making us a part of the journey with your vids. And hello from Fort Kent, Maine, USA!
I'm just bingeing this series spontaneously, it looks like so much fun. Can't help dreaming of doing something like it in my next holiday. :) All the best to you two!

Many thanks for lightening up my day. So refreshing to see you both enjoying live and cycling. 🚴🏻♂️🌈👍🏻
You know I went to buy that shirt straight away. Nice one Aishola!

This video made me really happy!
Great job on editing these vids. Great effort on those hills too. Never a bad thing to get off and push. Cool series.

Very enjoyable. Many thanks for the fun, upbeat episode.
Love this series!! Looking out for every new episode!
Love this series and now I know where the 'Pirates of Penzance' were from. Who knew? Not me.
