    1 bag of black eye peas
    2 medium Onions red or white
    2 tablespoon of tomato paste
    Scallions
    Habernero peppers...adjust to your liking
    Chilli peppers 🌶
    Salt to taste
    Oil to fry
    Seasoning to taste
    Black pepper

    I 💕 your style of making it it's very simple and straight to the point. In senegal we add baking powder, onion, garlic,ginger, and sugar and blend it with the black eyed peas. I prefer your style because it's like how it's made in cassamance

    the Indian people who sell street food here uses flour and the yellow split peas to make akara,I never knew you could make it with peas alone to me that's awesome and more healthier

      I never knew you could make it with flour except for maybe it's peas flour. You can find peas flour and make it, but not sure if it's regular flour. Thank you for watching

      In the Caribbean, we call it pholourie, made with split peas.
      The original recipe uses peas only, however, those who make it for sale, use a blend of peas and white flour.
      Cheap, but people seem to love it still.

      Taking the skin doesn't remove the calcium or benefits. Its just easier for your gut to digest. Hard work always the best way

    I left Banjul 35 years ago while a 5th grader at the Senegalese school for the US with my family...that was the last time I heard the name akara or taste it.. Thank you to you, I will try and make it!!! Ps. I am a vegan.

    That is the version of Ankara I know. The one with the gravy on the side. That is the way we eat it in Ivory Coast. I miss home...thank you for your recipe

      Well mind is pretty thick. Just don't add too much water or else it will come out light and soak up a lot of all.

    To save myself all the trouble of taking the skin off, I usually just buy the already peeled beans ☺️💜.

    This is how we (Sierra Leonean) makes our accra. Gambians didn't use to make there's like that till we the war in 99 when alot of us moved to The Gambia.
    We don't put water in ours tho.
