  • Life after college is no joke, finding that first job as a new grad was one of the most difficult i've had to do. Here is a story about the worst job interview i had that truly knocked my confidence at the time. The point of this story is to show that you can bounce back and this time period will end.

    I also learned that if a recuiter is external for that company. I dont even bother, as they are just absolute trash......... I also think the worst interview I had was back at 22 out of college. I got called for a job interview as a slot tech in seatle. The guy refused to do a remote interview and told me I had to meet him half way at a hotel for a 30 minutes..... They didnt even pay for it and laughed when I asked....... He then told me if I wanted the job bad enough I would go. I then just lauged and hung up.....

      Not all third party recruiters are bad. I’ve met some great recruiters who are very responsive and helpful in the interview rounds, especially multiple rounds for a role. Typically the best ones are with fortune 500s but not always.

      I am confused did you expect to get payed for getting interviewed?

    • @alegwartney1962
      @alegwartney1962 3 місяці тому

      @@gyunayify No wasnt expected to be paid. It was more I was expected that if they were wanting people to go clear out of the state to interview. With as big as they were they would fly people out sort of thing. Or do a remote teams or zoom interview.
      Not waste peoples time paying for a flight and hotel to meet someone for litearly 30 minutes..............

       I have friends who have gone to other countries just to get interviewed, it's more common than you might think. When I was searching for a job I wouldn't mind taking a flight to get interviewed (as long as I am interested). I prefer in-person interviews tho and working in a hybrid setting, so I can understand if you are looking for only a remote position.

    "Eventually you'll realize that you aren't qualified for any job with qualifications, and after a period of being rejected by jobs without any, you will finally get one, a way to eat and pay the rent, your dreams in tatters, your future shrouded in a fog of poverty and humility."

    Also if I learned anything else if a interviewer is late I dont even bother. Because to me it just shows that they think there time is worth more than any one elses.... I think the most worst itnerview I had as of late was a call where they just started asking me basic tech questions. The guy was indian barly could understand him they didnt even turn there camera on. Then they just said ok we will get back to you got ghosted at first. Then was told that they wanted to only offer me a 6month temporary postion even though it was listed as full time..... Then a week later they turned around and said that they no longer are offering the postion and that they pulled it out.

    Hey thanks I really needed to see this. I have a job and if you’re coming up on Tuesday with a really good company. It’s a tech interview. I’ve been studying pretty hard. Trying to make sure I make it through this. I feel like if I do, I’ll be at home pretty soon to get a job over 160k. As a fellow dad, you got my sub. Looking forward to hear more your stories and possibly connecting!

    I’ve been applying for interviews since 2021. Ive had one interview. At some point we have to admit they are only hiring non-Americans, and we have to go build our own. The ride is over. You guys built your own prisons.

    Is it possible to land a job with just a certificate in data analytics? With no prior experience in that field? I’m wanting to make a career change to analytics what would you suggest I’d do for success?

    I don't know whats up guys, everybody just has to learn to eat shit and none of us are born with a god given right to anything better. Take what you can get, step up to the plate when it's your best interests, not your companies etc.
    It's a human pit and you better get climbing. The pain, humilation, suffering is the weakness leaving your body.
    Theres guys that work in finance literally having heart attacks at 24....i'm just glad in tech we aren't them...
