I have been riding since the 1970's. Now I am a Disabled American Veteran, I can no longer handle my 1980 Honda GL1100 Interstate, fully dressed out bike. I bought a 2004 Honda Shadow Aero VT750C, it is much easier to handle for me, and the American Legion Riders require a 750 or larger bike. This bike is perfect, for me & my wife to ride!
Im also DISABLE BUT FROM JOBS PHYSICAL TAXING TILTLE IWAS A CIVIL SERVICE NYC WORKER , I WAS ABLE TO RIDE A 1970 TRUMPET 650 THEN I BOUGHT A 1974 FLSTF FAT BOY SO I ENJOYED BOTH BIKES OUT EAST IN LING ISLAND NY BIG ROADS. As a 400+lb man who is also 6'3, who currently rides a 2007 Shadow Aero 750... yeah, I was surprised at how well that bike does. I have no complaints. I certainly want to upgrade to a bigger bike, but considering I had pretty much no riding experience before, this was the perfect "starter bike" for me. I've had it for about 2 years, put 5,000 miles on it. Very happy with it.
I’m 6’5 350 lbs and I’m looking for my first bike and like the price of the shadow and I’m being told I need the shadow 1100 but if I can sway a 750 for a better price I’d be happy
I’m right around 330lbs myself, my big concern was getting a bike that didn’t look like it was up my arse but was also under the 800cc insurance hike we have here. Looks like a shadow 750 is the one.
@@MrAceofspades327 I was almost considering getting a bigger bike as my first bike, but since I'm also a beginner (and I'm also around 330 lbs), I was convinced from this video that the Shadow 750 was more than big enough to start off. I absolutely love the bike. I got a killer deal on a 2019 from a dealership my wife works with. I walked out the door with under $10K total for gear, (helmet with bluetooth/communicator, jacket, gloves), the bike, extended warranty, gap insurance, and that was all including taxes. The bike literally had 0 miles on it. I am pumped about this bike. I was originally wanted an indian scout, which has more than double the power of the Shadow, but considering that it costs almost twice as much, I think I made the right choice. Plus, my wife also wants to learn to ride. So, she could probably take over this bike when I outgrow it.
Hilarious, Sean. Those 750 Shadows will really surprise you with the power. I am 6’3” 280lbs, I rode a friend’s Shadow, a few years back at 75-80 mph on the highway for several hours. That thing had tons of power. They are excellent bikes.
As a 6’ 381lbs man. I approve this message. I own a 2016 Honda Shadow Aero 750 and love it. Just enough horsepower to get up and go when required and small enough to be forgiving when you make a noobie mistake.
@@JayDillon-mm6yv People even say a Sportster 1200 is a chicks bike because it's still a Sportster. Some people are just dicks and like to talk shit and put other people down.
Hillarious ending.. My son just purchased a 04 Shadow 750, needs some TLC but he'll get it looking great. Thanks to your videos that really did sway him towards the shadow 750..
Great video , i was concerned about getting the Suzuki Blvd c90 with 1400cc for me and my wife . Though I needed a 1800cc for 2 up but now thanks to you I know I don’t ! Thanks keep it up!!

I found a 2004 Honda shadow aero with only 2700 miles on it in good shape watching your videos has made me decide to go ahead and buy it I'm a 275 pound man 6' one so I should be just fine on it thanks for the video
This ending was such a beauty im telling you I'd watch other channels if this weren't so entertaining eveytime I love ya man I'm picking up a shadow 750 tmr for me amd my gf. We rode two people on the rebel 250 and it could ride around town but not highway like we want plus I was still learning how to control the bike well with another person with me so hopefully it'll be much better when I get my bike
I live in Germany where I'm able to ride 160 km/h (100mph) on a highway with my Shadow Aero 2014. The seat is very comfortable. It's a great shaft driven bike. It has enough torque and power to ride 50 km/h in the very final gear at 1500 rpm, which is nice. I have no desire revving high the engine and no one is in my way. Honda Germany has equipped this particular motorcycle with sissy bar, top case, two bags, alarm system, navigation, ABS+CBS, fuel injection, catalytic converter, windshield, and so on. I have no need to swing my leg over any other motorcycle anymore :-) PS. My GPS remembers the last fastest route. It shows up in the left down corner. I was 164 km/h quick just yesterday. You can see it for yourself on my youtube channel.
I rode on the back of my uncle's bike, through South Cheyenne Canyon here in Colorado. It was a fantastic ride, to say the least! That was over 20 years ago, I still think about it, quite often.
I used to have a 2011 Honda shadow spirit. I weighed 190 pounds. Now I'm looking at a 2013 honda shadow spirit and I'm 490 pounds. So this video nailed it.
Sold my 2012 Shadow Phantom 750 for a 2015 Triumph Thunderbird LT. While the Honda did get us both around, the 1700 cc’s and larger seats makes for a very comfortable ride. Took 3 days to ride from east Texas to Port Charlotte Florida on the Honda, only took 2 days on the Triumph

And believe it or not back in those days the cops let us go not even a ticket for going through the red light that started the whole situation. America is beautiful RIDE ON
I work with a lady who rides a shadow, and we park our bikes next to each other (not to waste 2 parking spots). Her bike looks damn near as big as my 1500cc Dyna. It's a nice bike for sure!
I bought a 2003 ACE. AND WITH MY WIFE we were 50 pounds over. Other than replacing the clutch springs after the 2nd year. It had no problem hauling our butrs.
My girlfriend has a 750 Spirit. I ride her because she can't ride yet. I weight 220lbs., she weighs 170lbs. and we have NO PROBLEMS scooting on the highways. We rode from Hampton Roads, Va. to OBX, Nc...smooth ride. It doesn't compare to my VTX 1800 but it does the job with room to spare. It will do 90mph+ with two ppl.
My son just picked up a 2003 Honda Shadow 750 this week , it's his first. Bike , I told him he should be good with that for a good while until he feels like getting a bigger one , I rode a Moto Guzzi 750 Breva for about a year before I traded it for the 2003 California Stone , 1100 , and this video cracked me up at the end
Warm greetings to my moto bros from Russia✌️, I recently got my first job and have already started saving for a motorcycle, I’m choosing between the Honda Shadow 750 and the Yamaha XVS 1100, I will be glad to hear the opinions of experienced motorcyclists on this matter.
it wasn't that long ago that the 750 was the biggest machine on the road, and it made thousands of cross country trips with absolutely no problem. sure the newer bigger heavier decked out cruisers are more comfortable. the choice is do you want to pay 8k for an economy ride or 27+k for a deluxe ride
I ride a 2004 Honda Shadow that looks just like that. Only mine is blue and black instead of white and black. I had it topped out at 125 mph on a long straight away. It didn't take too long to get there either.
07 VT750C Honda Shadow - 270lb + 110lb wife, I bumped the shocks up only because they were soft on the garbage IL roadways. Basically for comfort not necessity :)
I just got the 2005 aero with less than 5k miles, it runs and rides like new.. It's to small from pegs to back of seat and I'm only 5ft 9. On the highway it Has to be run at uncomfortably high rpms just to keep up with traffic. It needs a 6th gear really bad. They should have reshaped the gas tank for an extra gallon. NO FUEL GAUGE, NO SELF CANCELLING BLINKERS. Had those back in the 70s. Bought this bike spur of the moment, good go around town, nothing more.
In 1981, I traveled Chicago to east coast to gulf coast to west coast back to Chicago on a 1969 Honda 450 Twin. I was 6'1" and only about 190lbs in those days. I could cruise at around 75, once the Harley FX full fairing I had installed settled into a position where it wouldn't cause steering shimmy. Going through the salt flats I opened her up and topped out at about 95mph . That bike was rated at about 45 hp factory fresh, and it was well into middle age when I rode it cross country, loaded with my camping gear. The idea that we "need" massive horsepower to go on the highway is just wrong. How much over the speed limit do we "need" to travel? There's not many people purchasing even the smallest cars with the idea that they need to be able to get up to 100 mph in order to safely pass a semi truck
If you must have a pillion, cruisers seem easy to bear the weight. I use a 1500 2003 Nomad for pillion duties, on the open road, as thats basically all we have, that or gravel, and we weigh 400 pounds all up...and the power is adequate for not dieing down on hills and being comfortable...the weight distribution of a rear load is better on my Nomad than on my zx14r, on that i no longer carry a pillion. Best of all is you buy her her own bike.
Thanks for all your videos, man. Quick query about this bike. I'm about to look at a 2005 750 with a little under 39000 miles. What mechanical issues should I be looking for or worried about (I'm new to riding and the market here is *tiny* so I don't have a lot of comparison points)
I’m only 150lbs and maxed out my 94” 750 Kawasaki Vulcan On the highway at 110-112mph otw from northern michigan downstate for a trip. Just started riding this year
Real talk though... I have a older Honda CB 750 and have never had problems at interstate speeds. It isn't the fastest, but it is fast enough to have a little extra geddyup at 55 mph.
Sean the Rossi gives you bonus points but two guys on a bike... that is only allowed if the other guys bike is broken on the side of the road or in a ditch.
Me and my girlfriend picked up a Honda Shadow 750 for her a few weeks ago got it service here in Cleveland and I rode it down to Cincinnati to deliver it to her I'm 6 foot 5 and 320 pounds other than my legs being a little cramped the thing Road like a champ and all I would really need is forward controls but it's not for me when I'm in Cincinnati we ride 2up no prob
Excellent video. I have been reading forums on this for weeks. Every forum suggests exactly as you said, most people say you need a nasa rocket ship to ride with two people. My only real experience on a bike is with a 1986 CBX 650 cruising around town and short 30 or 40 mile backroads trips. I have been wondering what I need to carry a fat man and average size woman around comfortably.

I thought those huge bikes handled better on the highway

That bike was rated at about 45 hp factory fresh, and it was well into middle age when I rode it cross country, loaded with my camping gear. The idea that we "need" massive horsepower to go on the highway is just wrong. How much over the speed limit do we "need" to travel? There's not many people purchasing even the smallest cars with the idea that they need to be able to get up to 100 mph in order to safely pass a semi truck
LongJohnny Vee I agree with you and thanks for this input
If you must have a pillion, cruisers seem easy to bear the weight. I use a 1500 2003 Nomad for pillion duties, on the open road, as thats basically all we have, that or gravel, and we weigh 400 pounds all up...and the power is adequate for not dieing down on hills and being comfortable...the weight distribution of a rear load is better on my Nomad than on my zx14r, on that i no longer carry a pillion. Best of all is you buy her her own bike.
Nice save there at the end!
Just started riding this year
Watch out for white tail deer, the most deadly animal in Michigan
This was fantastic!
this video is pure gold)))
Real talk though... I have a older Honda CB 750 and have never had problems at interstate speeds. It isn't the fastest, but it is fast enough to have a little extra geddyup at 55 mph.
great video!
Sean the Rossi gives you bonus points but two guys on a bike... that is only allowed if the other guys bike is broken on the side of the road or in a ditch.
Very funny video! Thanks for the education and rolling on the floor laughter!!
Here I am watching this video in 2023, and it's still relevant!
I have a 2012 Areo and love it.
That was awesome!
The little 750 that could 🥲🥲
I love this channel! Humor, knowledge, never boring, likeable dude and encouraging Scripture to boot.
Oh my gosh you guys! Dying laughing over here! 😂🤣😅
Some people's idea of how much HP is necessary to cruise on the highway is crazy
All you need is 750cc and bro love... Bahahahaha loved the piano music at the end thanks made my day!
Finally got him to do it!!!
