Does anyone see downgrade in FB Ad performance? High CPC, 80% of traffic - bots
Seeing big ups and downs right now
Yes.. I have two business account and they are different! One has new features that the other doesn't have! So I think they're updating something?!? So frustrating
Same! Not much traffic ends up at website
same.. huge bots traffic and junk audience. Earlier I used to get better results in almost half the cost
Yes
absolutely BRUTAL out there in FB land right now... BRUTAL
Yes we're seeing high up and downs as well, but we're still doing the same. Can't either sit and complain or control what you can control
agreed but please don't make another video to blame the ads when there ARE some days, weeks and months that the FB algo is crap and no ad or landing page in the world will fix things@@NickTheriot
Agreed. Spoke with a group of 7 figure business owners who just turned off their ads completely since March 4th
Saturated. I think the downfall started years ago with the big alogrythm change. My page has over 550k followers and one picture used to easily get 13k likes or more now they get 200 if I am lucky. So all those other people that LOVED my stuff will never see it. It is a disservice to their users. I really think it started there. Everyone learned to go online during COVID also saturating certain markets and driving up ad costs. People are desensitized to ads unless it is some amazing gadget that is super cheap and is like an impulse buy at a store. :-/ Plus FB has really limited how and who you can target making it even harder. I used to target this big dance competition and it was EXACTLY my audience now they don't allow it.
@@matthewnovik5892The question is : for how long? 😱
Hi Nick, thank you so much for providing so much valuable content.
I need to confirm something.
1. How many ads will you add to the Main Ad sets?
If I have 12 winning creatives, should I split them into 2 ad sets or can I put all 12 creatives into the same ad set.
2. If I sell a women's clothing brand, tops, pants and skirts, should I do separate campaigns? Or can I just use one campaign?
3. Should videos and single images be placed in the same campaign? Will Ad sets that include videos be more advantageous?
4. Now I can't get the post ID in DCT, is this the same for you? Will Main Ad set not be applicable in the future? If the new account does not have a winning ID, can it only do DCTs?
I'm sorry to bother you like this!
Hey buddy, Im not Nick but I might help.
The answer is simple and suck at the same time = it depends.
I would recommend you to test it all. You already have a clear list of things you want to know (and this is great!).
Experiment one by one, and see what works best for you in terms of CPC, CPV, CPM and all metrics that are relevant to your business.
Take notes and save it. Run the same tests after 6 or 12 months (or more often if you like) to double check if those are still the same results. People, algorithms, market change all the time. So, result of today's test might not be same in the future.
1. Depends on if i'm starting a brand new account or not. If i am running a new account i'll launch 6-12 unique ones
2. I would do one campaign and focus on the products that drives 80% of my revenue
3. Yes they go together.
4. Correct, we're just leaving winning dct's on now
@@greengoes5764 Thank you for your kindness! I will try to keep testing!
@@NickTheriot Wonderful reply, I will always follow you!
Thank you! This has helped me understand targeting so far
Welcome
Hello Nick, I manage a pre-workout brand and we figured out that 97% of our customers are gym/weight-lifting people, should we use Interest Targeting to weight-lifting people or use Broad ? We have a small budget and struggle to scale past 100+$ a day even tho we spend a lot of time on creative production and testing (we have 3 video editors available in our team atm)
I would still use broad
@@NickTheriot We tried broad for 3 month and got 24€ CPA for 7000€ spend vs 18€ CPA for 7000€ spent on interest targeting
Should we keep trying to improve on broad or go back to interest?
Remember what he said in the video : it's the creative that matters the more not the audience. Use your creatives to attract the attention of your audience by offering them educational content, ugc, testimonial... that answer to their frustrations, expectations and others.
Selecting the broad targeting will simply help you save more money but choosing to test each interest will make you spend more. Again focus on the message within your creatives and you'll see good results
@@MademoisellePaule Thank you for your comment Paule. We have experimented broad for 3+ months on our ad account and didn't have satisfying results. We switched back to a more traditional interest stack approach and we are seeing better results across our business. I really think that it depends on the niche you are working on and also your budget (we are spending low 200-250€/day and are fine with restricted audiences)
@@reekoup Then you already have the answer to your question, but as you've mentioned that your budget is limited , the interest approach will cost you more even if it brings you more results as you said.
Advantage + Audience says suggestion as an option. Does it hurt to give it a suggestion? or is that going to limit it and cost more? Your thoughts on using suggestion?
I don't use it, as we see more retargeting with that audience and higher frequencies
Love all of this implementing now... will report back!
Best of luck
If I sell dresses, when you say we should focus on 1-3 ads, do you mean 1-3 different products, or 1-3 different creatives for a best-selling product?
1-3 different creatives for best selling product
@@NickTheriot Thank you
For example, if I create a post and run a broad audience campaign on Facebook for one week, and the results are good but the campaign is over, if I run this campaign again on the same post, will the Facebook algorithm remember what kind of population was interested in this product?
I would stop running 1 week campaigns
Why my fb ads playing more in outside area then the targeted area ?and i am doing open targeting.
and can you give me idea for small medical clinic how to target right audience sir?
You'll target the city you're in and creatives that are specific to your customer avatar
Hi, i am studying marketing right now and would like to help you for free on marketing to gain experience.
@@nissangamba ok you are free to give me suggestions sir.
@@DUTY865 can you drop a link to your page here?
@@DUTY865 hello sir
Some people recommend using interest targeting for a short period of time and then transitioning to broad targeting. This approach can help the algorithm achieve good results quickly. What do you think about this strategy?
I still go broad from day 1, as it gives me more budget to test creatives, which plays a larger impact
I believe that targeting a broad audience can be effective, but it often requires a relatively large budget to see significant results. When starting with a low budget, it might be more effective to use interest targeting. As you begin to generate some revenue, you can then increase your budget and transition to a broad targeting campaign. This is for people who have no money and are very careful about what they spend on their campaign, what do you thin about this Nick?
I think it's even more waste of money. It's better to put that money into better creatives
Are there some scenarios where you'll go more targetted or have multiple campaigns for a diff audience?
For example...
I've switched to CBO single campaign structure for a client.
Overall, going awesome. CPA been cut by 70%! (ty for that)
However, there's a smaller niche within their overall niche they want to target more of, but because it's a smaller audience, I feel that whenever I create creatives targetting them, the CBO strucure won't give it as much spend.
Sure if it makes since to
Hey Nick absolutly amazing :) Thanks, but I have a small question regarding Facebook strategy. I have 10 different creatives in the CBO, plus 2 more DCTs. If I now want to test completely new creatives with new angles, do I create a new CBO? or do I just add them to the other 10 videos when broad targeting? Thank you
I just do new dct's inside that cbo
What is dct's please
Hi Nick , thank you so much , I got so much Value 🙏 from this video
Thank you again
My pleasure!
Hello, Is it possible to run a Facebook ad campaign with a mix of targeted and broader audiences? For instance, I want to focus on car enthusiasts but also reach people who might have a general interest in cars. How can I achieve this balance effectively?” like If I choose three interests related to cars, how can people who are not interested in cars still see my ads?” my question might be confusing sorry
I would do broad targeting and create ads for each market and put them all in one campaign
Hi Nick my business is regarding custom products and my Target Audience is businesses and owners like restaurant, cafe, salons, etc. My question is will the broad targeting work or good for me?
Thank you
Yes
Very good, the hardest part of watching content created in America is the difference in pronunciation of words such as "niche marketing" which in the UK is pronounced "neech marketing". That as side a great explanation. Many thanks for sharing.
Welcome
Does selecting a city or 2 still, gender and age still broad targeting?
Yes it's still broad. Broad = age gender location
@@NickTheriot Thank You
Amazing Value in this video
Thanks!
this video is amazing! thanks! After I start running ads, I receive a lot of messages from agencies/ consultants, alot more than real customers. I assume it's because they want to offer service to me so that clicked my ads and facebook assume these are my customers. Does this mean that facebook will keep targeting these people instead of real customers? how can I avoid this? thanks so much!
I wouldn't worry about this. There is also a ton of tools online that can populate shopify stores at a click of the button.
hey nick, killer content as usual, just a question, we are selling phone cases for iphones, our ad creatives mostly focuses the material of the phone case and its properties but not really "iphone". a problem we are facing is that we are getting a lot of traffic from non iphone users, we also have some iphone models that are out of stock that people are asking about. do you recommend using "Specific mobile devices & operating systems" in placements to show the ad to people with the specific phone covers that are still in stock. the reason why don't consider doing this from the audience is because i can only target "iphone" which is still a bit broad to me and fb still seems to go beyond this.
so what is your take on this ?
I would filter by device (placements) and make it iphone only
@@NickTheriot okey will test, thank you !
Hey Nick, thank you very much for this video. I have a question : We are a clothing brand operating in Europe with primary markets in France, the Netherlands, and Belgium. In terms of advertising strategy, would it be more effective to create separate ad sets for each country, considering both broad and narrow targeting? I'm experimenting with various creatives and utilizing ad set budgets. Do you have any recommendations on how to structure my campaigns for optimal performance?
I would do one campaign pr country
Hey Nick, I have a question regarding DCT..
Let's say my winning AD is a carousel add. With. a hook on all picture then different color variations as a carousel, let's say 5 pictures for the winning ad... How would you DCT that winning ad? Create a DCT 1 Carosell with a new images, but would you do it as a single image or a carosell? If you do carosell would u do a separate adset + dct for each carosel? Otherwise I don't see it working, as I would spit out 15 pictures into 1 adset to test 3 different variations of 5 picture carosel. Hope my question is clear enough
Why would you need to dct it, if it's already winning? You can do 1 dct with 3 images, or 1 regular adset with 2-3 carousels in it. I never focus on carousels
It was the winning ad in my prospect capmaign.. Still not winning enough it that makes sense..@@NickTheriot
I'll try to move away from carousells then, thanks for the reply. Love your channel
Hello, thank you very much for this video, I have question: If I sell different kinds of products on the same page, will broad targeting on each post work well? If I sell different types of products on the same page and want to target different audiences for each post, will the algorithm be able to recognize this?
The creative creates the targeting for each ad
Hi Nick, is it pssible to target taller people on facebook ads? I have a niche product that knly tall people need. How can i reach them?
Create creatives and messaging that specifically resonates with taller people's desires
Do you switch to original audience?
Yes
lol I joined FB ads at the WRONG time! I just started using FB ads not even 12 hours ago and apparently I’m hearing about a decline in ad performance… it’s weird because I feel like I did everything COMPLETELY correctly and I have 200 impressions, but only 4 clicks. Is this normal for a new person or???
There will never be a "right" time to do anything. Don't let that dictate your mindset or you'll be out the door soon.
@@NickTheriot thank you very much man ❤️❤️❤️
is there any way to stop people from india to see my ads all they do is try to scam and with every message they send facebook charges me, I'm tired of them.
I blocked their country but still getting that spam, it gotta be from the ones that are already here in the states
Don't target those countries
thank you very much for this video
Welcome
Why not just shopping adv+ then?
exactly
2 reasons that Nicks covered before
1). Adv+ puts a lot into retargeting.
2). You want 1 campaign to have multiple adsets. 1 adset to only run best performing and then multiple new adsets to test different creatives. Turn the bad ones off. Copy the post ID of the best one into the winning adset. Mainly because you can do you Dynmaic Creative Test (DCT) and test 12 variations of an ad in one ad, rather than make 12 unique ads. It’s a time saver.
Adv+ is good to run promotional ads and
@bav nailed it

Hi, I ha ave a question about broad targeting. I have furniture shop and I use the broad target for reach my potential customers but additionally, I want to reach restaurant owners in different campaigns, should I also use broad targeting for that? my concern is that meta will be targeting the same people in both campaigns (in reference our Instagram followers)
The creative creates the targeting. If you make creatives that appeal to only restaurant owners, people from the other campaign should not see the same ads
Great video!
Thanks!
Thank you!

whats lookalikes?
Audience based around a pixel event you select

Have a new set of series coming in next week
I need to target Delivery Boys, How its possible ?
By showing them what they want in creatives, that only delivery boys want
Doesn’t this contradict your previous advice to just go broad?
Nevermind, just saw number 3 lol
Got to watch the video my guy
U r explaining orally, we dont want to see ur face, show fb audience interface what u are telling is not understandable....
Time waste video..
