    Thanx for the video, extremely helpful!.I was thinking i was going to have to take the whole dash apart like the previous models(2000-2006).So you can imagine my relief when i found this video.Awesome!Awesome!Awesome!

    Thank you so much! This was about 0.01% as difficult as I feared it would be. I broke my AUX cable plug in the jack this morning and was prepared for the worst. Nope! I had the radio out in under 5 minutes. It didn't even take me another 5 to pop off the front panel of the stereo (4 screws and a few clips) and pull out the broken piece. Start-to-finish (including reinstalled) in about 15 minutes. I even rereouted my new AUX cable through the trim ring instead of coming up from under the dash.

      how did you get the broken piece out ? i did the same too

    • @jachim69
      @jachim69 8 років тому

      Pull the stereo out as described in this video. Look at the front panel, you'll see some screws around the outside edge. Take them out. There's also some plastic clips holding the front panel in place. Gently life them up and the whole panel will come right off. Look behind the AUX jack and pull the broken plug out.
      I no longer have the Impala, so this is all from memory. But, as I said, it was extremely simple. IIRC, there's no delicate cables or other parts you need to worry about too much. Just don't blindly pull it off and you should be OK>

    This is the same radio that comes in the 2006 Buick Lucerne that I just lost the LED read-out. I found a replacement radio on ebay for around $30 and plan to use this video to help me install the new one. Thanks for posting this!

    We do factory car stereo repair only. Aftermarket or swapping the stereo out has challenges. Visit several of your local shops, see who knows their stuff and who is looking to make a sale.

    The bose speakers on these impala's are loud enough to just add subs and an amp. You dont even need to go aftermarket on speakers

    I'd look at the amplifier having problems first. However, a reset may set the communication in the system straight. Disconnect the negative terminal from the battery for 10-15 minutes and reconnect.

  • @boblizcou

    No. The stereos are VIN locked. Only the dealer$hip can unlock and recode the stereos.

  • @snowman374th

    Okay... I done everything as I just seen here, before watching the video.. So I was okay there. no problems. However. Now the radio is silent. I can barely hear static. CD won't play either. The problem I had was making me think the Antenna was bad, or barely connected. Radio lost stations fast. I took out, seen no problem, put back, and now have a BIG problem. What do you think I done to make that happen? No rips, breaks, bangs or bumps. Easy out easy in.

    • @snowman374th
      @snowman374th 7 років тому

      Na. But I got it. the Antenna was bad.. And got it back on shortly after. But the tint on my windows done it. I just bought the car not long before asking this.

    Not an easy task with all the info provided on the screen of the original stereo. There is a kit, antenna adaptor and $100-150 wire harness needed for the installation.

      +Kyle Burke There's some kind of converter that you can attach to the back of your stereo that will allow you to use the stock face plate with an after market system. You need it so that the right sound frequencies get sent to the subs vs the other speakers. I'm not sure what the converter is called but good luck.
