Thank you so much for this. Several years ago I was making afghans for homeless veterans and found a place (now out of business) that sold discontinued yarns for a huge discount. I took advantage when they offered some boucle yarn and made several afghans with it. I hated every minute working with it. I still have several stashes of it left. One is the perfect color to go with my newly redecorated living room and I keep promising myself "someday". Now I'm ready to start, thanks to you. Keep up the good work.
I’ve been making comfort shawls with this yarn and have found a pattern that leaves chain spaces which makes it easy to find your stitches. I want to thank you for your great attitude, fun, and laughter. Blessings to you!
I LUV Homespun yarns and any kind of boucle yarns. They're not that difficult to work with as long as you take your time when you first start using them, Then, after you've built up some experience, and it doesn't take that long, you can move along fairly fast. You just have to love these bumpy lumpy yarns to work with them!
Thank you for the tips. I don't know how to crochet, but I knit and I think your tips apply for knitting projects as well. I have a skein of bucle yarn that I was getting frustrated with, and the key to working with it was on your advise: the project I chose was wrong (too intricate), and I knit tightly so I have to apply your advise about either kitting loosely or using a larger diameter needle. I tried one of those huge US 50 needles just for fun and it actually looked pretty😊. Thanks for your advise. It was a fun and very instructive video.
Thank you for these tips. I’ve just started the Lion Brand’s Poet Dog Sweater and this Homespun yarn is just doing my head in! I was about to throw that project in the naughty box, but I will now give it another go with your tips. 👍🏼
I found a really pretty skein of finer gauge boucle in a stash my sister had when she was learning to knit. I am a beginner but I'm really tempted to try a cowl with it. I'm just afraid of wasting the yarn if I mess up.
OK, I'm going to try this with some crazy chunky yarn I was gifted, purchased from a second hand store. So it's not a huge amount. And it's not thick, but crazy weird chunky and thin in places. I've tried a few patterns with it and none have worked because it is so difficult. But it is pretty. So, we'll see! I'm scaling back to a super basic half DC scarf. Here goes. :)
Hi Sara. I see your little dog sits behind you in your chair just like my little girl does. I thought that was so funny seeing you get up and you see his or her head peep out lol
OMG I Just found this video and I am cracking up. You are hilariarious. Clink from one loose hooker to another....hahahaha. Anyhoo, I am using Patons Boucle and have been frustrated. I got it at an online clearance taking my chances knowing how may I hat working with Homespun. Wellll, after ripping out and tearing off pieces of this yarn, definitely not one for frogging, I just decided to use a single crochet P Hook to make a scarf or a cowl, hoping to make a matching beanie...we'll see!!! But I was searching and crouching for patterns and here you came up. I couldn't help but comment before I finished watching. I definitely subscribed and we will see what tips and tricks you give to make me want to do a beanie with it. Thanks for your time..Clink (at 3 PM)
I'm looking for a pattern for a specific yarn it's Sensations rainbow boucle this yarn doesn't look as thick as what I've seen. I've tried crocheting with it it's hard to find stitches it's very soft like chanelle (sorry for my spelling if I misspelled last word.)
so glad for this video. I usually stay away from bumpy yarn because it tends to look, hmm, silly i guess, but I saw a coworker had made a shawl out of the lionbrand thick and quick and it looked gorgeous, now I'm looking to make myself one too now! So This helps because chaining up a bit and then trying to work into it for the first time had my brain in scrambles :P
I have never worked with yarn before and once I chained I was so confused where the stitches were. The yarn is on my shelf for right now. You gave me an idea as to where to find the stitches. Thank you for that.
Thanks for the above video. I'm new at crochet and I really want to try the homespun boucle Waterfall. It's for a blanket, so should I crotchet squares for a patchwork or make the blanket all in one? Thanks 😀
I would crochet a either a large granny Square or crochet in rows of dc, ch1, repeat. I say this because it is difficult to attach the squares together with this type of yarn. I have done, and it wasn't pretty. :)
Boucle is a pain in the neck to work with but it's so soft. I have gotten tons of the stuff recently from a local thrift store. I need to Know how to work with it.
Thank you so much for posting this. Big help!. I was finally able to succeed in a project. Yes I noticed in the pattern instruction of mine, it did suggest a Susan Bates crochet hook too which I ignored at first, and yes I work tightly. With the correct hook and your instructions, I made a hat! So , again, many thanks.
Also, I use those new type crochet hooks with the new kind of crochet hook heads. Their made by Susan Bates. Those hooks make crocheting with boucles less apt to snag.
I just got back from Walmart and I didn't see it there, I stopped by Micheal's and Hobby Lobby and didn't see t there either. I guess I will have to run over to Joann's in a few days. I looked it up on line and I am very interested in Playing with the yarn.
@@SaraSach Well, I don't know what happened, but when I played the video, it was one about a knitted dog, or something, toy. The boucle video is back, now. Weird.
AHHH! I see, for some reason, the video started at the end, where you're talking about other projects. NOW, one last question...how do you KNIT with boucle? Do you have a video on that?

Greetings from Singapore! Thank you for your tips.
So nice of you
I use to hate that type of yarn thanks to you I have a new appreciation for this yarn.
I found a really pretty skein of finer gauge boucle in a stash my sister had when she was learning to knit. I am a beginner but I'm really tempted to try a cowl with it. I'm just afraid of wasting the yarn if I mess up.
Go For it! Just take your time and go slow. Keep it loose, I bet you can do it!
Sara Sach Thanks! I’m a pretty tight crotcheter thus far, that’s something I need to work on.
Thank You for your tips they were very helpful!
All great tips!! Thanks.

Yup, loose hooking, lots of pinching is a must. And a super easy pattern.
Hi good morning , new comer just learning through tutorials .
Welcome!
great tips, thank you, will give it another try 😁
Hi Sara. I see your little dog sits behind you in your chair just like my little girl does. I thought that was so funny seeing you get up and you see his or her head peep out lol
Can you use boucle yarn for pom poms? The homespun unravels at the ends. Maybe this could be an advantage.
Yes, you can. It's a little tricky when you trim them, but it makes nice pom poms.
I love homespun yarn❤️😍👏
Me too. It's so soft.
I love this yarn!! I am using it for loom knitting a hat and scarf

Very helpful
Hi Sara
I love the look and feel of the yarn, but I can’t see the stitches to work with it.
I have never worked with yarn before and once I chained I was so confused where the stitches were. The yarn is on my shelf for right now. You gave me an idea as to where to find the stitches. Thank you for that.
You are welcome, Glad I could help.
Will you be doing a baby blanket using the baby soft boucle? I'd love to see it. Thank you. Blessings
It's not on the schedule at this time. Hope to in the future.

how do you knit with the boucle bumpy yarns
You are funny, thank you for singing your soul with me
Boucle is a pain in the neck to work with but it's so soft. I have gotten tons of the stuff recently from a local thrift store. I need to Know how to work with it.
When I work with this yarn, I would use a 4 weight yarn with it so I can see the stitches. Very helpful.

I bought some of that very pretty bumpy yarn but I can't find the end of them to start with.
I just saw you hold up a yarn form homesupn in the colorway " waterfall " that I am currently making a sweater out of!
I have a roll of Go Handmade Twist yarn.
Also, I use those new type crochet hooks with the new kind of crochet hook heads. Their made by Susan Bates. Those hooks make crocheting with boucles less apt to snag.
To show how much I LUV Homespun, I crocheted a bedspread for my brother out of it. Love the stuff.....
Hey I'm naturally Loopy 😜🤣🤣🤣
Me too!😜🤣
Glad to see this video because I am about to make a shawl using LionBrand homespun yarn,,, thanks for the great tips
Just be patient. After a bit, it will be easier.

Did I miss something? NOTHING about boucle'.
How do you make fringe on a shawl with this yarn? Do you have a UA-cam on that?
Yes, I do. ua-cam.com/video/XvTPvdSScLU/v-deo.html
What is the pattern or name of the blanket behind you, on the chair, that you made with the boucle yarn?
It is called thick and Quick, here is the link: poshpoochdesignsdogclothes.blogspot.com/2013/08/how-to-crochet-with-homespun-and.html
Good Morning from Port Orchard Wa.. Am new here so Hi Hi
Thanks for this!!! Can you please do a tutorial on how to use Bernat Dimension yarn? Very difficult to to work with. Thank you!
I have never worked with it, I will have to check it out.
Sara Sach, Thank you very much. It's difficult to work with...and I've been crocheting and knitting since I was seven yrs old.
I just got back from Walmart and I didn't see it there, I stopped by Micheal's and Hobby Lobby and didn't see t there either. I guess I will have to run over to Joann's in a few days. I looked it up on line and I am very interested in Playing with the yarn.
+Sara Sach Thank you so much! If you cannot show how to use it with ease, I'll just chalk it up as a loss. Thank you, for your quick replies.
So sorry, But I am determined to get some. Just "put it in the naughty corner" for a while. Where did you purchase yours?
i’m attempting to make an amigurumi bunny out of this type of yarn and so far it has been very hard because i can’t see the stitches

Hi!
Hello!
Hi Sarah
Hello.
Hi Sara
Well, I don't even see anything about Homespun. Guess I'm not paying attention. I'm not interested in the toys.
The yarn I am demonstrating is boucle or bumpy style yarn, which is what Homespun is. Homespun is a brand, boucle is a style.
@@SaraSach Well, I don't know what happened, but when I played the video, it was one about a knitted dog, or something, toy. The boucle video is back, now. Weird.

I don't knit but Im definitely interested in your sweaters, your toys, and your afgan Tell all about your craftiness, please. And tall socks lol💐😊
