- Smackdown vs Raw 2010 is one of my favorite WWE games of all time, it might not have the amazing game play of Here Comes the Pain or GM Mode and Season Mode like 2007, but this game was just made right. After an average 2008 which many felt was a step down from 2008. THQ and Yukes needed to create something special. Something different. Something that could last us a whole year, something we could spend countless hours playing. Even though graphics wise it isn’t some crazy upgrade, and the road to WrestleMania was very familiar. They still stepped it up and delivered some amazing features and game modes we love to this day, we have to this day, and miss to this day. This game was awesome. Let’s go back to 2009/2010 and take “A Look Back at Smackdown vs Raw 2010”

I remember playing this game at 8 years old and with my brother who was 6 years old. 2010. I remember I asked my step-dad to get me a Spiderman game but instead he got me this game and I was PISSED. but I gave it a try and man it was fun. And because of him I became a wwe fan. I don't watch wwe anymore because I miss the old era but yea that game brings back so many memories.💯
You would think in 2020 we would be upgrading from amazing stuff that was added in older games but its the reverse smh. Older games have done way more than what 2K has done since they got the license to these WWE games.

I remember when Jeff Hardy left WWE before the game came out, and besides being extremly devistated, I was worried he wouldn't be in the game. I was so happy when I found out he was in the game.
He is also one of the reasons this is my perfect WWE game roster .... All the legends I want to play with.
Still sad when he left WWE in 2004-2006 making his character wasn't not in WWE Here Comes The Pain, SVR 2005-2007 roster

@@tyrikchannel9154 To be fair. There are quite a number of wrestlers that debuted or returned in 2006 but never made it to svr07. Like CM Punk, MVP, Elijah Burke, Cryme Tyme, Ashley (Massaro), other ECW guys, etc. But made it to next year's game instead surprisingly, even with a pretty limited roster. Great Khali seemed to be an exception because he was already given Main Eventer status the moment he debuted.

The last game Jeff Hardy was in for a while. I remember all the “how to make Jeff Hardy” videos that flooded UA-cam for years after this game.
That was literally my only major gripe about SvR 2011. It improved and expanded everything from 2010 and even created Universe Mode. But the lack of Jeff Hardy was tough to stomach.

@@swinterset4732 lol exactly, I had a big issue with SvR 2011. I noticed a severe removal of moves and alot of wrestlers movesets had the same moves assigned to different inputs. The only good thing I remember from SvR 2011 was the weapon physics system and I remember that was the game you could see the wrestlers muscles bulge if they flex which was cool too I guess. Also I remember in WWE12 they had to really add a whole lot of moves back in. One more thing screw SvR 2011 for that horribly animated Rolling Thunder that still plagues the games til this day, RVD had never backed up and does some little bullshit roll like he did in that game.
@@ChrisMS0815 svr 2011 only had like 1 move if u go to create a moveset for each section. WWE 12 , WWE 13 and WWE 2k14 have 2 moves this time instead of 1 I checked. I went to Smackdown vs raw 2010 and it has between 3-6 moves per section . Its one of the highest if not the highest amount of movesets I'm a game.

If only they'd bring back the create a story mode. I remember some people on the community creations had created entirely new wrestling shows with custom characters and released new episodes regularly. It was a blast playing through them

This is the first SVR that I never got or even played as a kid, kinda when I stopped watching wrestling too. Maybe I'll have to go back and check it out, my favorite thing about these games was always the creation modes.

Man, 2010 was peak SVR. I remember creating a story where Chris Jericho formed a new Evolution to push rising stars like Cody Rhodes and Dolph Ziggler, going a full year into Extreme Rules where he defeated Undertaker to win the WHC. Rhodes and Ziggles had the tag team championship, HBK had the US Championship (though he defected from EV 2.0 and had a feud with Jericho until Elimination Chamber), and Batista acting as a dominating enforcer for the faction.
It's a shame that the newer WWE games can't even function properly compared to then.
Oh what a strip down memory lane, playing it on my PS2. Still got it, I remember creating Scorpion, Sub Zero, Kratos and Yuri Boyka!!! Good times

The Smackdown vs RAW games were absolutely awesome and are so nostalgic to watch. Then the WWE2K games came... and everyone's interest in WWE games just died sadly.

My mom absolutely hated WWE with her whole heart and when SvR came out she wouldn't get it. Then my uncle came to visit, and he had SvR 2010 as one of his gifts. He died a year ago, and I still have the game, everytime I play it, I remember the risk he took getting the game for me, knowing his sister would absolutely beat the shit outta him😂😂😂

This was my first wrestling game I got on PS2 when I was 6 years old I remember watching the commercial for it and then begging for it for my birthday. I was so happy when I got the game I used to play this game for hours I loved it.
My personal favorite wrestling game ever. I just enjoyed it so much as a kid even compared to the more liked games. Like 2011.
Was 13 in 8th Grade when this game was released, was a time where both my sister and Bestfriend went up to High school as Freshman leavint me behind and the one school year I had no friends at all😂. Still had a great time over all and the whole year of 2009 was simply just amazing. So so amazing and I enjoyed life.
Didn't play this game back then but played and loved SVR 11 in late 2011 and can see how that game and SVR 09 were very different.
SVR 10 was a great transition from style to the next one.
There was something missing in svr 2009. Me: *cough* GM Mode *cough*

Me and my friend used to play this game everyday after scholl, when we were kids. I loved it. Somehow every match felt so intense. In the end both of us could project ourselves onto our created wrestlers. Those where magical times.

2010 was the last game with the wow factor for me and I would play it a lot. 2011 was still fine but after that the games were lacking something. Or maybe they were just stale.
After 2007 SvR2010 was my first WWE game and I loved it. It was perfect, I just missed something like Universe mode, but I did my own universe mode in exhibition and on paper. Awesome.

When I first played this game I had it on PS2 and played it on there for a while until I got a PS3 with it's version of SvR2010, I remember being blown away by the graphics jump and the training facility and superstar threads because they weren't featured on the PS2 version.

One of the best wrestling games I've ever played. Yet, a little disappointed. Not by much granted. Showcase mode is good to relieve those amazing matches and feuds from the past. When recreating these matches however I would like to choose the commentary team of Gorilla Monsoon & Bobby( the brain) Heenan, McMahon and Ventura, Cole & Lawler, and those current from all brands Nxt, Raw, SD live. Not just Cole, Saxton, Gaves. We want the choice of referees to include Earl Hebnar, Tim White, Mike Chaota. Ring Announcers Mike McGuirk, Howard Finkle. Ability to cut promos with Mean Gene Okerlund, Sean Mooney, Lord Alfred Hayes. As well as those currently on the roster. Create a show or arena we want the following: Props from past ppvs and banners. Choice of Wooden steps, ropes to separate the spectators from the Wrestlers, bleachers and benches. The ring announce table to be placed right up against the ring. Or back near the entrance. Sawdust floors or no mat at all. I want the ability to climb the entrance sets, titon tron to leap/jump from. Smash each other through the LED board. Ability to switch POV from standard to first person. Giving us the experience of walking the aisle as our favorite wrestler or as ourselves. Ability to change the camera angles from ramp, spectators, commentary desk, cameraman,and referee. These additional changes would make these games even greater. Bring back the following. Limb targeting. Ability to break through the barricade in any match. Smash through the cage wall to win. Add the ability to trap each other between the cage walls and ropes, tie limbs in ropes to pummel. Grate each other's face against the chicken wire revealing a crimson mask. Jump /leap off the ropes, ring apron, stage, announce desk with weapons. Thanks for reading.

This was the first WWE game I legitimately played frequently.
The best thing about this game is defenitively the roster, it pretty much had everyone, only notable superstars that didn't make the cut for some reason was The Hart Dynasty. OST in this game was phenomenal too, you can't go wrong with Skillet.
It didn’t have sheamus,drew McIntyre,yoshi tatsu,zack Ryder,Vance archer,and no other legends like Bret hart,Eddie Guerrero,terry funk,mick foley,ric flair which is strange
I just wished that guys like Bobby lashley,booker t,Paul London,sandman,sabu,tazz,Rob van dam made the cut especially rvd should have made the cut since he returned that year in the royal rumble
@@WowSuchGaming2009 most of those guys you mentioned were released, were on TNA or came after the game's deadline like Sheamus and McIntyre. The legends always rotate between games, what I personally care about is the actual current roster which SvR2010 really nailed for the most part.
I have so many memories of playing this game! I played the hell out of it. It was the first game on the Xbox 360 I managed to get all achievements on, but I do feel like I missed out a lot on the community creations...

This was the second ever WWE game I owned. Soooo many memories from this game. I spent most of my time playing online, creating and playing stories on story mode, and creating all types of wrestlers and caws.

I loved this game as my last years of being a child. Create a story gave me hours upon hours of fun every day. The fact the wwe games now don’t have this is stupid. We need road to wrestlemanias like this back as well just to give us some really sick story lines. Realistically the more game modes you have the more endless possibilities you can have
Yes I hate the current games where certain modes have voiceovers and stories and the others don't.
If MyRise has voiceovers then so should Universe mode. I think the separate modes took from each other creating no balance.
They put the most detail into the MyRises & RTWMs. When Universe & those should be combined to be constant.
Instead temporarily in a game mode for a short story then it's gone.
