This is sickening re: the hostages. Yes, they all need medical attention. I recently saw “Screams Before Silence”--Sheryl Sandberg’s excellent documentary about sexual violence perpetrated by Hamas. Hamas’ aim was (and is) to rape, torture, and denigrate the hostages. (Perhaps males as well as females.) We do not know all the gory details regarding the maltreatment of hostages.
To me, Hersh looks like “hell”-he looks like a different person…the soul / light in his eyes has dimmed. His mom, Rachel, is a heroine. Even though she is deeply hurting, she eloquently and passionately speaks out every day.
I have no words for this horrible situation other than I want these hostages freed now.

Our prayers are with your family; your son Hirsch in particular. It's heartbreaking that he’s still in captivity as a hostage given his medical condition. We pray fervently that he'll be coming home soon to all his family and loved ones. God Bless..🙏

They don’t want all the bad publicity that would come from killing many more civilians, if they go into Rafah to rescue the hostages. And of course there’s also the risk of the captors killing all the hostages. It could end up being catastrophic. But Hamas is not being reasonable when it comes to a ceasefire/ “prisoner exchange” deal. Eg the refused to provide a list of names of hostages still living.
When I initially heared Hamas had accepted Ceasefire deal, I burst into tears immediately thinking of Hersh. Sadly, celebration was premature & Israeli Govt decided 2 go into Rafah, sabotaging any realistic hope 2 rescue hostages, alive.
