Those who have played that solo over the past 40 years will know, he didn't do the solo note for note as Paul Kossoff and with the correct vibrato.....It is an iconic signature solo that missed notes and added others. If you are going to play alongside the best singer in the world and who wrote the song, then at least play the solo exact, not a rough copy......Sorry to those with bad hearing....
@@chrissanders8362 i think your the one with bad hearing LOL, he plays the chords in a diff place to Kossof but it sounds the same with a bit of May's touch, the solo was pretty much note for note, ill give you the vibrato not being quite the same though, but every play has different vibrato in general.
Paul Rodgers is the greatest vocalist/ musician of my generation. I was born in 1961. Seen alot, liked and loved a lot. Paul just is simply the best ever
May is such a class act and fantastic musician. He pays homage to Paul Kossoff by rendering a beautiful performance without any embellishments. Who else cannot sit still while listening to this?
There will only ever be one Koss, but hats off to Brian, he really nailed that solo absolutely 100% spot on. The tone, the vibrato and the phrasing were perfect, in fact close your eyes and it's as close to the original Koss as you're ever likely to get!
In my opinion, songs like this made the Queen and Paul Rodgers collaboration worth it. I love Free and Bad Company. Queen did a great job with the Paul Rodgers stuff
I once read that Ronnie VanZant admired the way Free and Paul Rodgers performed, Ronnie knew what he was talking about and he took it to the next level with L.S., R.I.P. all orginal L.S. FREE BIRDS!
Brian May. Genius. Beautiful soul. Human jukebox. Carpenter. Physicist, Engineer. Love and admire this man. Oh, and songwriter! No human should have this much talent. So we stand in awe.
As great as May and Rogers had always been...can't help to imagine what it would have sounded like with Freddie Mercury and Paul Kossoff doing "Alright Now". Must be a great jam in Heaven!!
Holy shit. This version is bonkers. More proof why Queen is the greatest of all-time. Add Freddie's favorite vocalist and you had something really really special.
Fast forward 200 years (if Earth's here), those looking at this will think: something v. special was happening with music from late 60's-70's. That makes us lucky to have been there...
I've played this in bands up & down years more times than had hot dinners. Set aside now from the original this the best version ever ,Mr May hits the spot.
I saw and heard Paul Rogers in Eindhoven in the Netherlends in 1970s when he was the lead singer of the Free together with Mister Kosov. A perfect combination afterwards, Mister Kosov passed away. But what a voice that Paul Rogers has and beautifully and clearly a godsend.
Absolutely fabulous, If you removed Brian May from this video you would swear it was Paul Kossoff doing the guitar work, all credit to May for this rendition and also to the great Paul Rogers, I don't think back in the 1970s we really appreciated what talent we had around us then, especially in the UK.
That version gave me goosebumps. What a corroboration between one of the best vocalists on the planet with undoubtedly one of the greatest bands of all time. Perfect from start to finish. The crowd were definitely on song that night!!! As a singer, I would kill to have a moment like that.
Paul is one of the few singers who had a phenomenal voice that didn't as much disappear (like Plant's or Fogerty) but more just... changed. He sound fantastic, but like a different singer.
Well, it had been a loooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng time! All our voices change a bit as we get old. Well, except maybe Eddie Holman: ua-cam.com/video/rwK-lX-R9c0/v-deo.html
Paul doesn't really have the voice to cover a lot of Queen stuff, sadly. Adam has a better suited voice. You can tell by listening to some of the Q+PR songs on the "Live at Sheffield" live album, a lot of those songs had to be in a different key for Paul, which takes away some / a lot of the magic of those songs.
Paul Rodgers not being in the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame is a felony.
He does not wish to be. (per Eddie Trunk)
"I don't think rock 'n' roll belongs in a museum."
He's been asked multiple times & turned the question down every time.

God bless Paul ...there'll never be another. A REAL rock treasure.
Bad Company and Free too. Not just his solo stuff
Paul Rodgers is legend - one of the greatest in rock history.
I’m listening in 2024….this song will never be forgotten!!
50 yeard ago it was good, it's better now and IT'S ALL RIGHT NOW!
Paul Rodgers is one of the real great singers in Rock history.
But unfortunately one of the most notorious assholes and ego heads off stage
Absolutely he is. Very underrated. Still got it after all these years.
Brian May nailed that solo. Totally did it justice.
How? How does he still sing that in the same key as he did all those years ago? Because Paul Rodgers is a TRUE LEGEND!!!
He is from a special generation... music nowadays is totally dead .
Brian Mays performance pretty spot on too🤗🤗
He's so good!
It was 14 years ago. But he can probably still do it.
Got it in one!
Not many guitarists can play all right now properly like kossoff did.. 🇬🇧brian may nails it!🎉
May is an outstanding guitarist, he handles the solo faithfully, with respect and without undue fussy embellishment. an absolute joy
Shows how brilliant the Red Special is -- essentially Strat schematic, but with May's tweaks, sounds like a Gibson. Exceptional work.
It's hard to emulate Kossoff’s mastery of vibrato and sustain (originally done without stomp boxes or effects) but May’s solo comes very close 👏👏
Brian loves it.

OMG who sings better than Paul Rogers so amazing after all these years, no one sings better than him. Love him.
Paul Rodgers backed up by Queen.....That is the definition of Hardcore Rock n Roll.....Till The End Of Time.....
The years sure haven't slowed this guy down. Probably one of the all-time great front men of rock.
Top 5 vocal
Actually, he's lucky to be alive. He's had two major strokes. He thought he would never even be able to speak again. But he recovered. Lucky guy!
Now we can say that Queen had the two best rock n roll singers of all time.
And then there's Adam Lambert...😐
Thank you !!!!
Goosebumps. Brian May completely nailed it and Paul Rodgers just got better as he got older. Ah-mazing and so much fun to watch and listen to!!!
It didn't sound like Brian May until the last signing off note, job very well done!?!
Absolutely! Very well written Larry P
Thank you Brian May for giving the solo the respect it deserves - Paul Kossoff would have appreciated it.
cluxseltoot note for note!
That was an awesome solo,,, agreed
cluxseltoot freakin nailed it to the wall, note for note.
What else would you expect from May ? He is one hell of a guitar player.
@@michaelmarshall1713 Yep - but he played it TO THE NOTE!!!! So VERY fooking CLASSY!!!!
That is the single most timeless song that was ever written.
Paul Rodgers is like a fine wine. Still has the voice after all those years.
so doable too

with the Red Special
Yeh spot on mate and what's was so special at the time was that Paul Kossoff had so much respect for Brian May.
agree completely blues great KOSS RIP
In my opinion, songs like this made the Queen and Paul Rodgers collaboration worth it. I love Free and Bad Company. Queen did a great job with the Paul Rodgers stuff
Paul never pretended to be Freddie. He sang their songs differently in his own way but still kicked ass while doing it.
Agreed
Gotta love how Brian May absolutely nails Paul Kossoff’s guitar solo here. Respect.
He didn’t nail it it it ok
Roger was on fire !!!!
Perhaps the Best Cover ever of this Classic?
This song will forever rock my world. So cool to hear Paul singing it with Queen.
Boys in public toilets rock your world
Totally agree 👍
Brian may just killed this guitar solo
Brian May..plus paul Rodgers? Two of the very best at what they do..long live rock and roll
Paul Rodgers a living Legend.
I so loved it when I heard that Freddie's fave singer was PAUL - and that Paul's fav singer was FREDDIE!!!
They are all living legends on that stage!!
@@hotpeppersrcool never knew that!!
Just seeing this for the first time right now. I think I need to lay down for awhile!
One of the best voices in the business PERIOD!
Paul RODGERS - one of the greatest in rock history.
His voice was and still is HUGE...
THATS MAN ENOUGH FOR ALL WOMEN
Song never gets old and neither does he
I once read that Ronnie VanZant admired the way Free and Paul Rodgers performed, Ronnie knew what he was talking about and he took it to the next level with L.S., R.I.P. all orginal L.S. FREE BIRDS!
Solo absolutely killed by Brian May - nothing showy, just full respect to Paul Kossoff.
Brian is a classy guy
The bass solo is the star of the show. Saw Free live in 1971
I know both Paul Kossoff and Freddie had to be up there smiling down at them.
Best comment
Paul is Unbelievable & QUEEN blows us AWAY
Paul Rodgers is one of thee best vocalists of all time…
I had NO idea he was the singer for Free back in 1970 when our high school was rocking out to this song. Talk about staying power!
Grew up listening to Free.Paul Rodgers is brilliant xx
Brian May. Genius. Beautiful soul. Human jukebox. Carpenter. Physicist, Engineer. Love and admire this man. Oh, and songwriter! No human should have this much talent. So we stand in awe.
I bet Paul Rodgers never thought he'd be singing that song to that many people back in the Free days, lol.
Rogers voice is still great, Brian May is playing the rhythm and lead parts to All Right Now perfectly, spot on.
Paul Rodgers Is the one of the best singers ever
Paul Rodgers....timeless !
oh love Pauls easiness on stage, and his humour 🙂
These Queen+Paul Rodgers performances were at an incredibly high level. Fantastic. Thanks.
Whenever I listen to Paul Kossoff he I the best of the best
Brian May's guitar tone is worthy of Paul Kossoff! Of course Paul Rodger's voice is perfect , whether he's 25 or 65!
Range pitch tone timber delivery pronunciation, all a 10!!! You cannot get any better than this man right here as a rock vocalist!!!
He was good to his voice and took care of it. That's how these people sound the same or better.
That's one voice that's withstood the test of time.
All I can say is that I wish I was there for this concert. Incredible
One of the greatest concerts in history, like ACDC River Plate Paul McCartney Back in the USSR in Red Square
One of the best rock singers of all time.
Brian May's tribute to Paul Kosoff---and he was on point!!!
As great as May and Rogers had always been...can't help to imagine what it would have sounded like with Freddie Mercury and Paul Kossoff doing "Alright Now". Must be a great jam in Heaven!!
Paul Rogers is fantastic with QUEEN he is a great singer and knows how to work an audience, the best since Freddy by far
Paul Rodgers rocks! One of t best rock voices ever, please come to Ireland 🙏
paddy fullerton
Paul utterly fantastic as always
still a hell of a tune
man brian is damn good!
An All-time classic!
Oh! Still a wonderful song but he is such amazing a singer and love him xxxxx
you do something every day for 50 years, you're going to nail it. he's amazing, but what's amazing is to see the amount of passion he still put in it
They say how does he do it after all these years? BECAUSE HE'S THE GOAT OF FRONT MEN!!!!!
Paul Rodgers is one of the few rock singers that doesn't embarrass himself by trying to see what he isn't capable of. He rocks!
Holy shit. This version is bonkers. More proof why Queen is the greatest of all-time. Add Freddie's favorite vocalist and you had something really really special.
One iconic guitar player paying homage to another...and as for Paul....as ever simply outstanding!
The 2 kids on their Dad’s shoulders high fiving at the end sums up how awesome this is.
the stars and Constellations celebrate this Event still today.
I was lucky enough to see Bad Company twice in my life....they are legendary
The Older he gets! The better he was? Sir Paul Rodgers......
Paul Kossoff's solo.. note for note. Beautifully done, Mr May.😊
Kudos to Brian for covering these great guitar solos. Class act.
Roger fits so wonderful to Queen. His voice, well known from Free and Bad Company, is great. Good teamwork!
The original solo fits well with Brian's guitar style, no wonder he played it so well.
A master singing a master playing a masterpiece
omg.. Paul Rodgers..can still kill it.. he’s voice is still amazing.. love it..
I've always said it. He's the greatest singer we have.
yep- Paul belonged right there! He's great.
Can't believe it! He sounds like he did live 30 years ago. HAs a voice that lasts and is still strong.
Brian nailed it ! from start to end
paul got some new choppers since he sang that song with free. shorter hair too. great singer. best there is!
Fast forward 200 years (if Earth's here), those looking at this will think: something v. special was happening with music from late 60's-70's. That makes us lucky to have been there...
With all due respect to Paul Kossoff and the Les Paul, the stadium roar of Brian May's Red Special was made to hit notes like that opening A chord.
Bloody hell. Paul Rodger’s , credit to you. Saw him in a little pub in Victoria, Australia. Hallam hotel.
One of my all time legends.
I've played this in bands up & down years more times than had hot dinners. Set aside now from the original this the best version ever ,Mr May hits the spot.
Paul Rodgers at this age is maybe Better than other Old guys
❤America needs to listen to good old fashioned singing in old blighty❤
This is what legends are made of!!!
Roger's hi-hat slices are just amazing. He and |Simon Kirke are two of my drum heros!
Absolutely the best to ever cover Kosoff's brilliant solo. His tone was made for this song. And that vibrato! 🤘🔥🔥🔥🤘
Amazing how some singers are so vocally blessed and make it look so easy.
Brian May SHINES in this solo!!! Amazing how easy it looks for him. What a pro!!

It's great to see Paul still doing some of the Free catalog. Bad Company was way more successful than Free, but the music stands on its own.
Please Queen reunite with Paul Rodgers! This is a real rockin' Queen !This band is so much better than Queen with Adam Lambert.
YES!!!!!
Anthonio Degravio I agree 👏👏👏
Anthony Hopkins on drums chuck Norris on vocals.
This is sooooo good. But, i have to say that i really believe Adam Lambert was put on this earth to front Queen.

Brian Mays signature tone fits SO well with this song
It's a joy to see these musicians playing together in this great combination .
Best rock singer ever no one to match the man world class.
Freddie
I think Freddie might dispute that this is best rock singer ever come on whoever wrote that comment must be stoned
Freddie is my favorite and Millions would agree.
Obviously I respect and love Freddie but my personal preference is a harder rock sound so I prefer Paul’s tone overall just by a bit
