The Sequel to this video is out! Please view the playlist below to see it! Let's SAVE Infinite: ua-cam.com/play/PLAQMNgY15mjA12I_zwG_dsFiRi4bOuhge.html
You know I thought infinite was a cyborg who was upgraded by egg man with the power of the phantom ruby that would make sense why people in the game keeps saying that egg man built infinite and that infinite says lines like you’re fighting style out does your previous data
@@Garrulous64 well, I have an idea that Infinite agreed to work with eggman (instead of simply being brainwashed) because he was trying to save his comrades' lives after their assult failed. The squad itself may not be much of a mention in sonic forces, but they could come up in a possible sequel, along with a possible redemption arc for infinite.
Random thing, but I think edgy teen Infinite could've been a cool deliberate choice, the villain being ultimately just a mercenary whose butthurt over losing once. It they wrote it in well, that would've been nice. But whatever the hell they did to his character? Not deliberate, or well thought-out. Infinite's theme, if looked into, makes his character sound better than it he is. "Its all an illusion open up your eyes and-" suggests his strength is just a farce, although the Phantom Ruby is a little bit more than that, but they could've made it work.
Sonic: **Nearly kills Shadow** Shadow: I'm the coltimate! This is the uulest Sonic: Huh? Shadow, twitching in the corner: *This I'm cool the ultimestiet!*
_"eggman-y vibes"_ signs of Eggman include, but are not limited to: >eggshells scattered across the ground >faint scent of coffee >faint laughter, followed by violent coughing >things beaten by heart, soul, and the bonds of friendship
If you or your family and friends experience any of these, talk to your doctor and find the nearest blue hedgehog to beat you after hitting you 8 times.
His design, behavior, boss battles, and themes were perfect. His backstory just makes him look like an emotional teenager going through an intensified emo phase.
Why do I wanna see every famous emo characters get together and just go over each other’s backstory. They actually end up getting along and rant about the characters that care about them who they think are annoying. The characters who care about them watch in shock as they’ve been trying and all it took was another emo character for them to open up
*HOO* I.F.! Infinite's dead! I.F.! Now the song is over! (C'mon, Chaos! Take it to the fridge! ...Chaos? Oh my god, Chaos's dead! Chaos is IN the fridge!)
its kinda sad if fans can think of a better plot then a big company and now after hearing this, sonic forces comics based on the O.C trying to find infinite sounds really cool
True. I clicked on this video thinking it would be some kind of wierd fanfic reading, but I was pleasantly surprised! The story he told was actually better then the real game, and I much prefer it also.
"So you have trouble believing that duplicates exist, but you have no qualms fighting on a planet that exploded years ago?" "Hah, oh yeah, I guess that kinda slipped my mind. Hey, didn't the moon explode too? Did we ever do anything about that?" Now that's some good writing on your part, an instant signal that you know how to use these characters.
Yesss, I thought that was genius, specially since most Sonic games (apart from Generations) don't usually throw back to events of previous games, it sometimes feels like each and every Sonic game happens in it's own pocket dimension
Remember the egg moon in sonic x, when eggman fixed the moon through robotics, and caused a world wide eclipse on new years day, somehow? And then tried to brainwash the entire population of the earth though subliminal messages through light poles?
I love where this went. However, if it was me, I would make two alterations: -The Resistance base is on Angel Island. Considering it's in the sky it would be a logically easy area to defend, especially with the Master Emerald's power. -The Chaos Emeralds have some sort of role. It could be a side role like in classic Sonic games or be directly involved in the story, just more than DLC Super Sonic.
I was thinking that too! I mean, I guess part of the whole thing with the chaos emeralds not being there is because of the Avatar (unless they could go super but regardless), but combining them with the Phantom Ruby? Hoo boy. Egghead would be unstoppable.
Perhaps near the middle/end of the game you begin collecting chaos emeralds to grow stronger (like chaos from sa1 but with sonic) and you get to see what he's like with 1 or 2 or 3 or 5 emeralds After the 3rd infinite fight (in the fortress) infinite would go and absorb the master emerald which would supercharge the phantom Ruby, and the final fight be super sonic and rookie vs a supercharged infinite
Giving Tails more to do in the story, actually giving some tragedy to Infinite, giving him a motive for the custom character to keep on fighting, making Shadow's episode nostalgic. I see nothing wrong with what you are making.
One thing I would add is make a the "sonic is gone" thing last a little longer because we get new that's he's alive extremely quickly, from the players standpoint he was gone for like two minutes I said wait until half way to save him Let the player see the effects of Sonic's disappearance to the characters and citizens of Mobius
There was a fic I read where Sonic after being captured for 6 months seemed outwardly perfectly chipper but had serious anxieties about leaving the Death Egg and wouldn't do it willingly, and basically had to be recaptured by force to get him out of there and potentially fix the trauma Infinite caused him. That's neat, I think.
"But even though Silver is an optimist, he's also a realist" Thank you for leaving that in, even in the rewrite My FAVORITE quote beyond "does anyone but you believe your lies?"
BRO WHAT IS UP WITH THE GAMERS COMING UP WITH BETTER STORIES THAN THE ACTUAL STORY WRITERS lol. You did an amazing job man. I would have LOVED that version so much more
@@DonkeyFilms Not only that, but they kinda have a box to work with. Just because us Sonic fans came devise better doesn't mean it fits with what makes a Sonic story unique to Sonic. Not only that but Sonic fans tend to be picky on what is and isn't true to Sonic gameplay and stories, hence the box Sonic team is trapped in.
Alright, so if the "Lost world rewritten" video made me go "Yeah, that would've been pretty neat", this one legit hurts, cause this could've been the best boost game to date. Great video as usual!
I just realized that the restoration hq is identical to the Resistance hq from Forces. It makes sense, I just never noticed Also Omega always gets it tough. He’s dead in every story Also I’d like to point out that Eggman is like the only human, and he just commits animal cruelty constantly. Like I think it’s a hobby of his
This rewrite is by FAR the best version of Sonic Forces for me. It gives everyone in the story a proper role and actually makes you feel for the Avatar and Infinite (the friendship dynamic is a real nice touch~!). I really liked how you fixed Shadow and Infinite's encounter too, like... the fact that Shadow actually felt a bit horrified of the fact that he's solely responsible for Infinite's creation makes one have sympathy towards him and also be mad at him because he "shot first and asked questions later", so that was a well deserved moment of revelation for him and hopefully he doesn't screw up like that again in the near future (if they actually bothered with continuity that is...) Also gg with the interactions with him and Sonic, I lol'd so hard when they mentioned Prison Island and the Moon X"D And thank you *SO* much for fixing Tails because my god his behavior in the original story was completely out of character, ESPECIALLY with all he has went through in his life. . . The fox has proven time and time again that he can be a serious badass all on his own and he even went all out to beat the hell out of Eggman in Sonic Adventure 2 when he thought Sonic was straight up DEAD. So having Tails be his courageous and badass self was certainly great to listen to ^w^ And again THANK YOU FOR MAKING CLASSIC SONIC HAVE A REASON TO BE HERE. He was literally just there for no reason other than Sonic Mania being the first part of this collaberation between creators and it boggles my mind how they managed to screw up royally when they put him in Forces. Last thing I want to point out are the added boss battles. I really like this idea, it gives Chaos, Fake Shadow, and even Shadow's Story DLC a reason to be here other than bc ???fanservice????. I could go on about all of the positive changes this rewrite has brought to the table, but Sonic being trapped in there for 6 months only to let out all of his frustration towards Zavok was the best thing ever and I applaud you for it lol
I totally agree with you there! Oh! a random question, since in this version of forces, Infinite had nothing to do with Eggman during his first encounter with Shadow, You think Shadow would feel some sort of guilt when the Custom character talks about how Infinite was their friend, and was kidnapped by Eggman? Or maybe when Tails talks about how Eggman manipulated Infinite? Perhaps some interactions between Shadow and the Custom character?
@@jagga-chan8918 Oh yeah definitely! :D It ties into when I mentioned how he wouldn't want to screw up again and jump to conclusions It would give Shadow more screentime and more character development ^^
You should definitely be a game/story writer. This story sounded amazing! It captures the dramatic serious aspect Forces was trying to go for, while still having the normal characteristics we've known. The way you talked about the original character and Infinite was excellent! It adds much more depth and realism to the story. Great job on this! :P
okay so why aren't you just a writer for the games? you and ian flynn would make the ultimate dream team "Look at my boi do his best! *Silver flops on the ground after getting socked in the mouth* _...Perfect!_ "
I-I'm not crying! You're crying! In all seriousness, I love the friendship you created between Infinite and the Custom Hero. It gives the game, along with Infinite, a lot more personality than what they had. It's really good! If it's fine with you, I've love to write something based around their friendship. Like maybe a backstory and what happened before Infinite disappeared.
My biggest beef with Forces is that they had said that Sonic was literally tortured during captivity... but he was completely unchanged because of it? They had every chance to do a dark, jaded sonic that finds his spirit again because of friendship or whatever, and i was super disappointed that they didnt jump on that train
sonic 06 story is good though, just change the kiss scene and you have a pretty good story, maybe i would change it for the solana people to be also antro animals so you can KINDA have any sort of continuation between games (and it would make the kiss scene (if it is kept) much more passable), you get yourself some time travel, the first sonic cannon death by any villain ever, another god that sonic defeats (?, etc
@@thechocochicken5346 she doesn't has iblis anymore, sonic died and she cried, so mephiles combined with iblis and made solaris and started tearing the dimensions Also, the story is very crear There is a staff with mephiles inside, shadow touches it and mephiled copies his appearance, then travel to the future and made silver and blaze go after sonic, sonic rescued alice and were best friends, mephiles came, killed sonic, iblis was unleashed, made solaris, triple super hedgehogs and the flame of solaris was extingish, making sonic 06 never happen in the cannon
@@thechocochicken5346 it is ok for me, think of it more like an anomally, a bubble between dimension i would replace the kiss with puting alice hand on sonic chest and saying some cheesy thing about how he should revive for the well being of the universe and he appears in super sonic form
@@skylex157 I think an replacement for the kissing scene will go like this- while everyone is out looking for the chaos emeralds in hope they would help stop Solaris from destroying the world, Elise is beside Sonic's body lamenting his death and what terrible she had caused. She lament about how she was nothing but a burden to everyone around her, especially to sonic, and wishes she could've done better. "A burden. That all I was for you wasn't it? I gave you nothing but troubles and pain, yet despite it you acted so nice toward me- you made me smile, you made me laugh, you did your best to make sure I'm happy. You were the best and only friend I've ever had the chance to have. Please (sob) forgive me (sob) for being such a terrible friend!" As she cries, releasing years of repressed emotions, a single tear, containing a remnant of iblis' power, drops on sonic's chest. The place then began to glow in a warm light, followed by sonic waking up, unaware that he was even dead. (yeah yeah I know the classical reviving tear SUPER cheesy, but do you really perfer the original scene?)
Well, it really would've been nice if Tails was actually fighting back in this rewritten story instead of just cowering away in fear so easily. And it also would've been nice if Sonic and Tails were wondering why on earth Chaos was suddenly becoming a villain again and not their ally, since he had already redeemed himself the last time that they saw him.
my favourite thing about this video is that you understand that part of sonic's appeal is that its dumb and cheesy. keeping the campy humour and silly plots but making the actual character arcs and interactions interesting is great, and something lots of sonic fans seem to struggle with (admittedly not entirely their fault, since theyre often following that weird overly serious tone set by the early 3d games)
Oh, wow. This is actually really interesting. I love how you bring back old boss fights from previous games to really give this an "anniversary" feel to the game like Generations did. Great job, dude!
Thanks! It's easy to forget that this was technically an anniversary title. I guess that's because Sega didn't go too hard with the Fanservice Ruby for whatever reason.
"Then they beat up sonic and steal his lunch money." After that I spat out my water on my screen in laughter. I mean, It was mostly funny because of HOW HECCIN' CASUALLY HE SAID THAT
36:11 That actually made me really sad,You are amazing at what you do,Forces could have been such an amazing game, but instead we had...that... Anyways, you did great, your version is a lot more greater than Forces history.
I was disappointed with how infinite's potential (like many other things in forces) felt wasted. From what we saw in the trailers and from even his theme song. He seemed like he was going to be an awesome villain which i think he could've been... but due to poor execution that didn't happen. Also it doesn't help that in episode Shadow that he feels like a complete poser.
Is legit depressing that a UA-camr is capable of making a legit story that’s actually interesting more than any of the hired.....”Professionals”. Good work tho.
@@tjlnintendo Not everyone defends those games majority doesn't in fact but you are correct as this is the annoying idea of seeing a little good in a product means it's misjudged for being bad. Quality doesn't matter and Sega knows this which is why despite the hype Forces came out weak as water.
Honestly, the way infinite’s dialogue was written made him really seem like an intimidating character. I really like that they turned him into an almost anime villain instead of just being another eggman and being too cheesy. It really fits his design
This friendship between the custom character can actually fill in some of the plot holes with Silver. He’s a telekinetic time traveling hedgehog from the future, he should be one of the most powerful characters. He can’t beat Infinite because of his ability to warp reality with his illusion casting, and he can’t travel black in time to kill infinite before he got his power because he doesn’t know who he is, even when or if he did he couldn’t out of sympathy for the custom character wanting to save his friend. I know a lot of people also say “Well why doesn’t he travel further back and kill Eggman?” Proposal: what if Silver can’t kill Eggman because of one of his “descendants” being an important figure valuable to Silvers timeline?
“Well why doesn’t he travel further back and kill Eggman?” I tried to reply to this, but my computer wouldn't let me. I typed a half-dozen "Butterfly of Doom" / "for want of a nail" type ideas for why removing Eggman from the Sonic timeline could be a reeeally bad idea, even mentioning major changes to the events of Sonic Adventure 2 and Shadow The Hedgehog, or the idea that Sonic and Miles (Tails) possibly never even meet. But just when I was about to copy-paste it into a text document to save it (before trimming it down because it was a mountain of a YT comment X^D), somehow my web browser glitched up and clicked the Back Button on its own and _I lost it all._ T^T
What if silver can't kill eggman because with that Silver would lose his powers? Like, what if he's one of Eggman's experiments who could escape before having it's mind twisted?
Nah. I would like it to that Silver is the Infinite from his timeline, so he can’t just go and kill himself. My evidence? When Silver and Infinite were fighting, they almost seemed synchronized.
Again, I'm not 100% familiar with this game's story, but you do some great storytelling, and if this were the plot of Sonic Forces, I'd be more bothered to give it a shot.
I sort of wish that they had given Custom a voice and some lines. Maybe they could have had multiple actors reading the same lines, and the player can choose which voice they want.
Forces would’ve been a lot better if it wasn’t about war (since it doesn’t fit the characters at all) and instead expanded on the concept of Eggman conquering the world. It would’ve given the game more of a unique theme and visually different to other Sonic games. Sure, you see the damage inflicted on stages like Green Hill and Sunset Heights, but it’d be much better if there were more imperial cities, factories and other Eggman-themed locations in game, it could’ve given the game a more unique aesthetic and made it visually stand out amongst other Sonic games.
Yes, but the concept of Eggman taking over the world stretches far beyond what he’s done in other Sonic games and it’s a theme I wished Forces explored more.
"War doesn't fit the characters at all." Three words: *Knothole Freedom Fighters.* Look 'em up. ;^) Seriously though, Sonic CD's "Bad Future" design would look cool in 3D.
Here's ideas for bonus stuff, Shadow becomes a playable character after playing through the flashbacks sequence/episode Shadow. 14 bonus levels, 7 for chaos emeralds that unlock the Super forms for Sonic and Shadow and 7 that unlock the Dark forms for them. The Super can be activated by jumping and pressing B/⭕ after collecting 50 rings. The Dark form can only be used once per stage where if you get hit when you don't have any rings it'll activate but it only lasts till you get 50 rings(if you think 50 rings is too much reply). And lastly DLC levels where you play as Sonic or Shadow on Angel Island and I thought of having Mephiles as the bonus boss, when you play the Boss battle against him you unlock the Hyper forms where you can activate it the same way as the Super form except it requires 100 rings and once it hits 50 it turns back to the Super form.
You know, despite his pretty much lazy story, I think Infinite is kinda different from other Sonic villains. It seems like his main motive (if not the only one) is to show everybody how strong he is. In the end of "Forces" (Spoiler alert), his final words before disappearing were "Wait! I can still fight!" I kinda felt bad for him. It's almost like he's not that much of a villain, but a person who lost direction, or with inferiority complex. A person who can change...
I see what you mean. Infinite is not exactly a maniac out to rule or destroy the world. He's pretty much a superpowered bully who needs to prove something to the world and to himself.
GREAT rewrite, and I mean GREAT. Though, I personally would've done it a little differently: I think that Sonic still being alive would be better to be discovered by complete accident - the resistance charge an attack on the death egg to take it down as it oppose as a huge threat. In the midst of all of this, the newly recruited rookie stumbles upon the prison area and investigates. He stops when he hears whistling, and soon find none other than Sonic himself inside one of the cells. He looks a bit tired, with bags under his eyes, though he hides it with a cocky smile. Though barely visible, marks of injuries are also seen all over his body. Both are very much surprised to see each other. Rookie manage to get Sonic out using a card that fell out from one of the destroyed robots, when Zavok suddenly shows up. Rookie is scared, but Sonic put out his hand in front of him, and tell him to watch "how a real professional does it", and engage in a boss fight with zavok. Sonic is a little worn out after the fight (a result of months of "mistreatment"). Rookie shows concern, but sonic tell him not to worry, and that he is simply "a little out of shape, that's all." The security alarm then sets off, and the two then make a bold escape back to the shuttles as the resistance retreats. On the way, the rest of the resistance (especially Amy) is surprised and excited to hear Sonic's voice on the other side on the communicator, and are happy to know that he is safe. Sonic managed to get himself a proper care and rest once he reached the resistance's base (not before fainting out of exhaustion the moment he stepped out of the shuttle). Despite his condition, Sonic still insist on assisting rookie with the factory mission, so he can pay back eggman for all he has done, and cause you know - Sonic is Sonic.
And regarding the phantom ruby - I think that the ruby is better being the same one from mania. Eggman found it on the ground after he hears a strange warping noise outside its lair. He pick it up to study its strange abilities. He also creates phantom ruby duplicates in order to try to recreate the original's power and to understand it better, but ultimately failed, resulting in Eggman ordering Infinite to discard of them all. The reason the phantom ruby and Classic Sonic didn't arrived at the same time is due to space-time shenanigans :P Classic Sonic's goal in this game will be to retrieve to phantom ruby from Eggman, so he can get back to his own -dimension- *time.*
And regarding infinite (and this is a big one) - I'm keeping the idea of him and the rookie once being really close friends: They are childhood friends, who shared a sonic and tails dynamic - rookie is shy and timid, while infinite is bold and rash. In their youth, Infinite often got himself into fights, trying to protect rookie from bullies that picked up him, although he usually lost in all of them. That lead him to wish to one day become the strongest being in the world, so he can properly protect his friend. Unfortunately, on the way to achieve this childhood dream, Infinite and rookie ultimately part ways, and as the time passes, they both got less and less in touch. On his journey, Infinite soon find himself becoming a leader of a mercenary group called The jackal squad, which he leads proudly. His skills shined brightly among his group, being the youngest member to ever achieve the status of leader. One day, to prove his squad's strength, he leads a direct assault on one of eggman's bases, hoping a success will award them the attention they always wanted. But instead the assult fails miserably, and the squad got taken down very easily as eggman uncovers the phantom ruby's abilities. Eggman, realizing infinite's potential, offers him a deal - he'll let the rest of his squad live, in exchange for Infinite's servitude, along with a promise to greatness. Infinite, with not really another choice, begrudgingly agrees. (On a side note, Infinite stills blames himself for the assult's failure to this day, thinking he should've have known better as the supposed leader.) A few months pass, and infinite is ordered by eggman to stop shadow, who was invading the mystic forest base at the time. Shadow defeat infinite really easily, calling him weak and pathetic before leaving. With the humiliating defeat, and the fact that his strength was what he grew to value the most, infinite was deeply offended - he did not come all this way only to be called weak again! He will not again be belittled as the 'weak' child he once was! Furious, he was ready to use any means necessary to get back at shadow. 'Fortunately' for him, eggman at the same time was looking for someone to help test the phantom ruby's capabilities with. With the phantom ruby in hand, infinite grew more and more mad in power (the ruby's itself might be partially responsible in its influence), seeing himself as the most powerful entity in the world just as he so dreamed. I also had an idea that Infinite might not be not the character's true name, but a name he gave to himself once obtaining the phantom ruby (because with it his strength is "infinite"), but what his true name is idk yet :/
And regarding the rookie - he was trying to get back in touch with infinite for quite a while, but infinite was starting to answer his letters less and less, letting rookie to get quite worried about him. One his search, he encounters few of the jackal squad members, injured from the prior failed assult. They didn't really gave him any useful information regarding infinite, expect that "the doctor has him". When he finally sees infinite again, he was already with his newfound powers and mask. Rookie couldn't believe at first that the being standing in front of him destroying the city was his old friend, as he acted *nothing* like the friend he once knew. He soon joins the resistance, hoping that maybe on the battlefield he could get a better chance to talk to his old friend, and maybe even return him back to his senses. The rest of the resistance, however, do not know about all of this at all throughout the game, as rookie didn't really had the right time to tell them that. Rookie is also wearing a friendship bracelet on his wrist - one of a pair that he made for him and infinite back when they were young, signifying how important their friendship was for him, and how badly he wants that same friendship back.
Throughout the game, infinite outright denys any relationship he had with rookie, pretending he doesn't know him or even care about him, much to rookie's dismay. After the final fight against infinite, eggman surprise everyone by shooting a laser beam toward the weakened infinite, knocking him down, and taking the phantom ruby to himself. He remarks about how infinite is a complete disappointment, and that he rather finish the heroes himself. He soon take off, with sonic and classic sonic following suit. Meanwhile, worried, rookie heads toward infinite, who rejects him upon sight. "Why are you still here? To laugh at a failure such as myself? Hmph don't waste your time." As an answer, Rookie shows him the friendship bracelet he's has been holding on all this time. Infinite's is surprised, recognizing the old torn down bracelet. "Did you... really kept this old piece of garbage?" Infinite says mockingly. "And I thought you couldn't be more pathetic." Rookie anwsers. "Because we're... friends?" Infinite was shocked at the answer. "Huh! Don't be foolish, our little 'friendship' was over years ago! You can't possibly say that you went through all of this trouble just.... for..... me......" Infinite stay silent for a few seconds, a old memory of him and rookie as kids flashed in his mind. This memory, although not admitting it, does fill infinite with an odd sense of nostalgia. Reminiscing on days long lost, infinite gently smiles. "You... have grown a lot since we last met, do you know that? You are much stronger than the timid child I used to know." "It makes me proud". Infinite looks at rookie, genuinely smiling for the first time in ages. "Now, go. And kick the doctor's butt for me will ya?" Infinite utters before finally passing out. Rookie, happy to finally reconnect with his old friend, smiles, and with replenished confidence heads out for the final battle. The final battle and ending play similarly to what garrulous suggests in the video (minus the sonic and rookie scene - it has a bit different dialogue). After the ending, an extra cutscene plays, showing infinite from behind slowly waddling away. His mask is laying broken on the ground behind him. Zooming in on injured his hand, he is shown wearing an old hand-made bracelet. Fun fact: the initial version I came up with had infinite straight up *dying* after eggman shot him, and in his final moments he hands rookie the second friendship bracelet (which the pair of bracelets then also unlock as an accessory for the character for the extra punch in the feels). I decide to scrap this idea because I thought it might be too dark :/
Finally a good sonic story, much better than the more recent additions to the "canon". This is the first video I've seen of yours, and I can't wait to see more, you have excellent vision for story writing, and the themes you added really pulled the whole game together.
Not gonna lie, i was extremely weary about traversing into this video after having it recommended to me for gosh who knows how long. I appreciate restricting yourself by using what the main plot already has already set up to see if you can alter it to make it feel more intriguing than what we have. The only drastic change with infinite and the removal of his mercenary team, and i find it to be understandable as they were nothing but fodder with nice designs. Wish you'd kept them but it would've probably cause issues in the long run if we're going with "best friend turned into slaved weapon" idea. Although, as much as i enjoyed having extra scenes in already existing cutscenes with some minor alterations every now and then, some of them did feel a bit too contrived or too fanservicey for its own good (i.e sonic pointing out how the moon blown up). Not to say these are bad ideas in general, i just find it to be tacky and overall adds unnecessary fluff to the story in question. As for boss fights goes chaos could use a more simpler moveset to introduce newcomers to the classic sonic playstyle and shadow could've been more engaging rather than just wait for him to charge up an attack to wail on him. As for classic sonic, i think it would've been better if it was a twist that the classic sonic we assume is from the past is actually just a projection like the other illusions for the sake of consistency. Otherwise this can get ugly if we keep him like he is from the past meaning it implies the ruby can pull things from different timelines and open a huge can of worms in the process. Despite all i said, Thank you for creating potential suggestions and ideas that could be added if the game happened to get a rewrite. i thought the video was pretty interesting in which it provoked my creative mindset picturing out some of the scenarios that could potentially work if all things are positioned well.
On the topic of being fanservicey, I figured i'd go that route because this was an anniversary game. By including villains from the past and flaunting them in the teasers for the game, it felt like that's what they were going for. When they didn't do anything with most of the returning characters, it felt less like fan service, and more like bait.
I found the title of the trophy "Bonds of Friendship" obtained after beating Infinite's third bout rather humorously tragic... I was imagining, *Sonic and Avatar repeatedly kicking Infinite on the floor* Sonic: Yeah, friendship is awesome! Infinite: GOD, I'M SO LONELY ...which is actually kind of sad. Shadow in SA2 was much more callous in his psychology than Infinite (and still is) and yet he was still redeemed by Sonic and his friends but not Infinite. Infinite the lonely jackal who lost everything and blames it on external forces rather than taking responsibility for his own mistakes? Ref. the 4-part Sonic Forces comic. Zero accepted Eggmans offer to work for him while narrowly disregarding his teams disapproval and as a result, everyone he was supposed to be responsible for as their leader is dead which is not only a cause for grief but ruins his pride as a mercenary captain. Grief turns into rage and denial which turns into misguided hatred. This is a negative but actually very human character trait which does open an opportunity for redemption given the proper circumstances. Infinite's personality and character concept is actually pretty well written, the execution of it was just hot garbage. ...but nah, f*ck this guy in particular. He got a poo face, our hero says. IMO modern Sonic needs a little fixing too.
Ok, but Sonic and what is basically an OC kicking infinite on the floor, going "yeah friendship!" while infinite just yells "GOD I'M SO LONELY", as if he's not currently being kicked in the face, is a hilarious image
The Black Arms came because Gerald started project Shadow 50 years before the events in the game with Black Doom's DNA, and he expected the seven chaos emeralds in return from Gerald once he came back to perform the world ending ritual. Their invasion in the start of the story incites the conflict and is justified by the fact that it was a planned attack to prepare for the ritual. I think Project Shadow was the reason the ARK had to be shut down, and so the commander places his grudge on Shadow because he was the result of that project, and if he never existed, Maria wouldn't have had to die, but I do agree that he should have also held a grudge against GUN. Gerald is kind of a mixed bag, because when he was on the ARK, he created a message for Shadow to stop Black Doom and said that he the planet's savior, but once Maria was shot and Gerald was incarcerated, he held a hated towards GUN and humanity, using the eclipse Cannon for evil instead of using it to destroy the Black Comet. He probably doesn't deserve to be honored, but he did have good intentions.
If it werent for episode shadow, Infinite would probably have been a half decent villain, even though his backstory would be vague. The dlc just brought him down so hard.
No bro idk where you got that from. He’s legit just saying classic is from a different dimension. Idk why people want him too be from the past. It doesn’t make sense with the story.
I have an idea of my own for this rewrite. The end of the Null Space level seems like a great chance to introduce players to Triple Boost before the final boss fight, since Modern Sonic, Custom Hero, and Classic Sonic are trapped in Null Space together.
There were a few comments I saw from another video on Sonic Forces. I think they handled Tails really well. XtheReaper1: "And Tails has just lost it." Wouldn't it have been hilarious if when we saw Tails again, he was a half-crazy survivalist with camo and wearing robot armor and laser cannons as trophies and weapons, only to snap out of it when the chance to save Sonic comes up? This way we could have had the return of kick-ass Tails. Juan Pablo Robayo: you just gave me an idea Tails is just as you described. He returns to HQ with you super angry, sad, and ragged, but he serves as your weapons man, introducing your power ups for your wispons. But he's very clearly lonely, and if you click on the 'talk' option enough he reveals it. He's not interested in going outside again, and he makes sure the rest of the crew understands he's just there to build guns and nothing else. He takes note of your progress, but unlike the others (most notably knuckles and amy) he's very quick to tell you that what you're doing is dangerous, and that you cannot afford to screw up. The "Save Sonic Stage" is left until like, halfway to the end of the game, where he says he's gonna tag along with you because he NEEDS to go. There are like a couple of sections where he pops in with a quicktime event to show that he's helping you in the background. The intercom shows him getting more hopeful and more desperate the closer you get to the end... ...and then when he meets sonic again he's so happy he triggers the boss by accident, but he's not gonna let the boss stop him, so he joins you in the fight with quicktime events again, brandishing a brand new wispon that you cannot unlock prior to this. When the fight is over , the reunion of sonic and tails is filled with happiness and your character stands there, smiling, genuinely happy for your new friends. When Tails says 'Thank you', it's said with a totally different tone, so you know he really does mean it. And then, next cutscene, after a bit where everyone is so glad Sonic is back and they start planning, he gives you this new wispon, which introduces the concept of powering up your wispons and making them better. This way, your weapons don't feel overpowered at the start of the game, you have some challenge, and by the time you power them up to the max, the whole "one shot kill" thing feels earned. And it feels like Tails is totally helping you do it, every step of the way I think you should give this idea serious consideration.
Infinite and the custom character had so much potential yet they squandered their opportunity to expand their franchise with these two that could have made all this more dire and shows just how deep they could make this story.
Oh my gosh this story is amazing! The whole story game has better stages dialogue and a whole better story! Honestly if this was real I would play a 24/7! Yours is so much better because it feels like the producers a song forces were just lazy! And barely worked on it but your story is just amazing! You gave the infinite a bigger part in the story which I'm all for! And giving the player and infinite a bigger relationship it sounds so much better than the original story! I wish this thing was real I'd play so much! 😩 Honestly a fan wrote a better story than the actual producers this is just amazing you did great! The original story just seemed like it was thrown together in a matter of seconds instead of actually people putting effort in it! It just seems like the whole story doesn't make sense but your story does! Has so much throwbacks and telling a story about infants pass giving you the idea of what's going on! Honestly your story is so amazing! So much better than the original producer stories! I'm personally a big fan of infinite so seeing him get a bigger part in the story makes me so happy! Thank you for doing this the original story actually felt...kinda empty really like someone just made the soup but never bothered to add other ingredients but it still soup so youre just kinda e h Thank you for adding the potatoes and beef
I really appreciate the relationship between the avatar and Infinite you added. It gives the avatar so much more of a character rather than just the generic "Weak character ends up becoming strong due to believing in themselves" cliché.
So, I had an Idea for Zavok in Forces, he retains part of his personality in the "Let's fix the deadly six" video, but he notably has some minor flaws in his appearance as an illusion infinite makes, namely, his personality is even more volatile than in Lost World, and he seems to start at his state of near insanity from the end of lost world. Also, during his battle with Sonic within the Death Egg Orbital Prison, he will, following every hit on him, summon one of the other members of the deadly six, and you must beat them by proceeding through the first hit of the first boss battle with each in Lost World.

"Its
all an illusion open up your eyes and-" suggests his strength is just a farce, although the Phantom Ruby is a little bit more than that, but they could've made it work.

I love where this went. However, if it was me, I would make two alterations:
-The Resistance base is on Angel Island.
Huh, that would be nice...
Perhaps near the middle/end of the game you begin collecting chaos emeralds to grow stronger (like chaos from sa1 but with sonic) and you get to see what he's like with 1 or 2 or 3 or 5 emeralds
After the 3rd infinite fight (in the fortress) infinite would go and absorb the master emerald which would supercharge the phantom Ruby, and the final fight be super sonic and rookie vs a supercharged infinite
Giving Tails more to do in the story, actually giving some tragedy to Infinite, giving him a motive for the custom character to keep on fighting, making Shadow's episode nostalgic.
I see nothing wrong with what you are making.
One thing I would add is make a the "sonic is gone" thing last a little longer because we get new that's he's alive extremely quickly, from the players standpoint he was gone for like two minutes

This rewrite is by FAR the best version of Sonic Forces for me. It gives everyone in the story a proper role and actually makes you feel for the Avatar and Infinite (the friendship dynamic is a real nice touch~!).
I really liked how you fixed Shadow and Infinite's encounter too, like... the fact that Shadow actually felt a bit horrified of the fact that he's solely responsible for Infinite's creation makes one have sympathy towards him and also be mad at him because he "shot first and asked questions later", so that was a well deserved moment of revelation for him and hopefully he doesn't screw up like that again in the near future (if they actually bothered with continuity that is...)
Also gg with the interactions with him and Sonic, I lol'd so hard when they mentioned Prison Island and the Moon X"D
And thank you *SO* much for fixing Tails because my god his behavior in the original story was completely out of character, ESPECIALLY with all he has went through in his life. . .
The fox has proven time and time again that he can be a serious badass all on his own and he even went all out to beat the hell out of Eggman in Sonic Adventure 2 when he thought Sonic was straight up DEAD. So having Tails be his courageous and badass self was certainly great to listen to ^w^
And again THANK YOU FOR MAKING CLASSIC SONIC HAVE A REASON TO BE HERE.
I really agree with you here!
-Also I just realised that Sonic Forces is sorta similar to Fire Emblem Awakening Future's past DLC...-
I totally agree with you there!
Oh! a random question, since in this version of forces, Infinite had nothing to do with Eggman during his first encounter with Shadow,
You think Shadow would feel some sort of guilt when the Custom character talks about how Infinite was their friend, and was kidnapped by Eggman?
Or maybe when Tails talks about how Eggman manipulated Infinite?
Perhaps some interactions between Shadow and the Custom character?
@@jagga-chan8918 Oh yeah definitely! :D

@@skylex157 I think an replacement for the kissing scene will go like this-
while everyone is out looking for the chaos emeralds in hope they would help stop Solaris from destroying the world, Elise is beside Sonic's body lamenting his death and what terrible she had caused. Please (sob) forgive me (sob) for being such a terrible friend!"
As she cries, releasing years of repressed emotions, a single tear, containing a remnant of iblis' power, drops on sonic's chest. I mean the people who made sonic force also made lost world so it makes sense that it wasn't good but this vid would be better than the original
my favourite thing about this video is that you understand that part of sonic's appeal is that its dumb and cheesy. keeping the campy humour and silly plots but making the actual character arcs and interactions interesting is great, and something lots of sonic fans seem to struggle with (admittedly not entirely their fault, since theyre often following that weird overly serious tone set by the early 3d games)

“Well why doesn’t he travel further back and kill Eggman?”
I tried to reply to this, but my computer wouldn't let me.
As would I
I sort of wish that they had given Custom a voice and some lines. Maybe they could have had multiple actors reading the same lines, and the player can choose which voice they want.
Great video! Wish you the best of luck with your surgery!
Um you do realize that all this time sonic has been fighting eggman to protect the wild life right ?
Yes, but the concept of Eggman taking over the world stretches far beyond what he’s done in other Sonic games and it’s a theme I wished Forces explored more.
So, kinda like a whole game of CD Bad Future stages. I like this.
Yeah, the "now, its' war" theme couldn't be more unfitting. I like your idea better.
"War doesn't fit the characters at all."
Three words: *Knothole Freedom Fighters.* Look 'em up. ;^)
Seriously though, Sonic CD's "Bad Future" design would look cool in 3D.
I can still fight!"
I kinda felt bad for him. It's almost like he's not that much of a villain, but a person who lost direction, or with inferiority complex. A person who can change...
Holy shit i'm not the only one-
I see what you mean.
Infinite is not exactly a maniac out to rule or destroy the world.
He's pretty much a superpowered bully who needs to prove something to the world and to himself.
He is someone with a inferiority complex😅
woah this is brilliant its kinda serious but not too much just the perfect balance im gonna see the lost world vid now
Infinite went from a baby to the freaking Winter Solder! Nice, dude! I'm not being sarcastic, I really love this rewritten, darker Infinite!
I literally just discovered this video and I've got to say, you're extremely creative. Sega should have you do their next game for sure!
GREAT rewrite, and I mean GREAT.
Though, I personally would've done it a little differently:
I think that Sonic still being alive would be better to be discovered by complete accident - the resistance charge an attack on the death egg to take it down as it oppose as a huge threat.
Rookie shows concern, but sonic tell him not to worry, and that he is simply "a little out of shape, that's all."
The security alarm then sets off, and the two then make a bold escape back to the shuttles as the resistance retreats.
The reason the phantom ruby and Classic Sonic didn't arrived at the same time is due to space-time shenanigans :P
Classic Sonic's goal in this game will be to retrieve to phantom ruby from Eggman, so he can get back to his own -dimension- *time.*
(On a side note, Infinite stills blames himself for the assult's failure to this day, thinking he should've have known better as the supposed leader.)
A few months pass, and infinite is ordered by eggman to stop shadow, who was invading the mystic forest base at the time.
Hmph don't waste your time."
As an answer, Rookie shows him the friendship bracelet he's has been holding on all this time.
Infinite's is surprised, recognizing the old torn down bracelet.
"Did you... really kept this old piece of garbage?" Infinite says mockingly. "And I thought you couldn't be more pathetic."
Rookie anwsers.
"Because we're... friends?" Infinite was shocked at the answer.
"Huh! Don't be foolish, our little 'friendship' was over years ago! You can't possibly say that you went through all of this trouble just.... for..... me......"
Infinite stay silent for a few seconds, a old memory of him and rookie as kids flashed in his mind.
This memory, although not admitting it, does fill infinite with an odd sense of nostalgia.
Reminiscing on days long lost, infinite gently smiles.
"You... have grown a lot since we last met, do you know that?
You are much stronger than the timid child I used to know."
"It makes me proud". Infinite looks at rookie, genuinely smiling for the first time in ages.
"Now, go. And kick the doctor's butt for me will ya?"
Infinite utters before finally passing out.
Aaaaaand I'm being ignored.
Perfect
“Amnesiac living weapon”? So, Shadow, then?
Not hating, I know you’re working with what you got, lol.
Yeah except shadow never had anything to latch onto except Maria
@@Garrulous64 yes yes it did
@@Garrulous64 So basically, fanbait?
Just bait.
I found the title of the trophy "Bonds of Friendship" obtained after beating Infinite's third bout rather humorously tragic... I was imagining,
*Sonic and Avatar repeatedly kicking Infinite on the floor*
Sonic: Yeah, friendship is awesome!
Infinite: GOD, I'M SO LONELY
...which is actually kind of sad.
Pardon the pun, but Infinite truly did have infinite possibility as a character...
He did. I wish the rewritten version had a secret level that the OC goes round the level to find infinite(or jakal or whatever)
EnDleSs poSsIbIliTiEs.
Isn't that true for every character?
I want to see how you would tackle rewriting Shadow the Hedgehog's story.
But i'm afraid of that game's story
Not a badly written story, just a bit too edgy. Definitely fits canonically within the Sonic timeline tho and explains Shadow's existence.
Are there any issues you have in particular?
The bosses in this game were pretty mediocre, and I do agree that the Black Bulls didn't fit in with the story.
If it werent for episode shadow, Infinite would probably have been a half decent villain, even though his backstory would be vague. The dlc just brought him down so hard.
Next has to be Sonic Boom Rewritten. For Sure!
The show has perfect writing though
omg, YES
Let’s fix lyric and sonic boom in general.
To "fix" the story, just use the original plot.
Ditto The games story sucks
I assumed when Tails said "another dimension" he meant in the Dragonball sense. Y'know, implying Classic Sonic is from Hell.
What?!
No bro idk where you got that from. He’s legit just saying classic is from a different dimension. Idk why people want him too be from the past. It doesn’t make sense with the story.
@@Collective_Dark he originally was from the past, like in Generations but Sega changed that because of controversy with his eye colour or smth
I have an idea of my own for this rewrite. The end of the Null Space level seems like a great chance to introduce players to Triple Boost before the final boss fight, since Modern Sonic, Custom Hero, and Classic Sonic are trapped in Null Space together.
Nobody cared who I was till I put on the mask.
Honestly I liked the goofy eggman a lot more.
There were a few comments I saw from another video on Sonic Forces. I think they handled Tails really well.
XtheReaper1:
"And Tails has just lost it."
Wouldn't it have been hilarious if when we saw Tails again, he was a half-crazy survivalist with camo and wearing robot armor and laser cannons as trophies and weapons, only to snap out of it when the chance to save Sonic comes up? This way we could have had the return of kick-ass Tails.
Juan Pablo Robayo:
you just gave me an idea
Tails is just as you described.
And it feels like Tails is totally helping you do it, every step of the way
I think you should give this idea serious consideration.
Yeah, as much as I liked playing Sonic Forces, I officially like your take on it 1000% more
Fix bubble bass from spongebob
Nah he's already perfect
Infinite and the custom character had so much potential yet they squandered their opportunity to expand their franchise with these two that could have made all this more dire and shows just how deep they could make this story.
You can't Spell "Infinite" without "Finite"
In
*Fortnite
Ayyyyy no.
Infinte
Okay then in
Oh my gosh this story is amazing! I love this so much!
13:51 was exactly how I felt watching that cutscene
Perfect!
"As the Jackle Cackles" that's an Awesome line
It is
Thank you for doing this the original story actually felt...kinda empty really like someone just made the soup but never bothered to add other ingredients but it still soup so youre just kinda e h
Thank you for adding the potatoes and beef
Thx now i am hungry :D
Dude, SEGA needs to HIRE you to make the stories for Sonic games. Listening to you work with what was given was AMAZING!
This is like a fanfic a whole fanbase would love
*I’m not WEEEEAAAAAAK!!!!*
Also “The baddies beat up Sonic and take his lunch money”
I really appreciate the relationship between the avatar and Infinite you added. It gives the avatar so much more of a character rather than just the generic "Weak character ends up becoming strong due to believing in themselves" cliché.
Loved this! Your amazing additions paired with the well done imagery were a delight to listen to!
Maybe when you 100% complete the game, you get a hidden cutscene with the Avatar finding Infinite discarded in a desert and brings back his memories.
14:51
Wait! You can DROP DASH in this game?!
The fact this sounds INFINITEly better than the originals story is kinda depressing.
"I am not weak! AAAGGHH" is my new catchphrase
9:04 thank you for making tails NOT a coward but still nervous about all of this
So, I had an Idea for Zavok in Forces, he retains part of his personality in the "Let's fix the deadly six" video, but he notably has some minor flaws in his appearance as an illusion infinite makes, namely, his personality is even more volatile than in Lost World, and he seems to start at his state of near insanity from the end of lost world. Also, during his battle with Sonic within the Death Egg Orbital Prison, he will, following every hit on him, summon one of the other members of the deadly six, and you must beat them by proceeding through the first hit of the first boss battle with each in Lost World.
Sweet!
