People who grief or AFK should be dropped to veteran 1 and let them dig themselves out. There should be more swift and severe punishment for making the game unplayable for others

Not necessarily for AFK'ing. There are legitimate reasons to go AFK. I'm sure there's been points where you've had to check on something important in the middle of a match. It's called life.
@@VM-gy8bmYeah, sometimes I have to close the game and when I come back after 30 or 45 seconds, the game shows Connecting... Connecting.... But never reconnects 😔
Yeah not all AFKers has a bad reason to go AFK, there has been many times were I would be playing normally and then my game would crash in the middle of the match, and would take me until the last minute of the match to finally reconnect. There was also one where I had to go somewhere like the groceries or the hospital so I also had to drop the match.
Not every AFK has a bad reason, but the ones which are obviously bad are those people who either lost their lane or griefed prior to AFKing and spamming ping, because you’d know they are tilting already.
People who have an emergency or "life" and *_aren't_* just horrible players would be perfectly capable of digging themselves out of vet 1 if they drop down. But if you keep having to "check on something important" every other match, maybe it's time to switch to idle games.
Unite would definitely benefit from a "karma" system where players with good or bad karma are matched with each other alongside the normal rankings to separate the trolls, abusive idlers, and people unwilling to learn from the people who actually want to play or learn to. Let the trolls play with each other.

Then they would just do that in lobbies full of trolls and people who unintentionally made the list. Making it effectively unplayable for that entire group, which would lead to a lot of people leaving, albeit just the trolls, but that would be significant loss of players. Maybe if there was greater incentive to NOT troll, i.e., greater rewards for playing fairly you'd have less trolls altogether. I mean, you get what, 20 coins for fair play? Maybe if you have a good social credit score, you get rewarded more. Maybe in the form of higher weekly allowances of coins, or some extra tickets/item enhancers. I think if the rewards for higher karma were good, there would be much higher incentive to not play that way. As it stands, the trolls are a symptom of a bigger problem, which is what I suspect to be the rewards for actually trying to play fairly. Because if you're only missing out on 20 coins, then it doesn't make very much of a difference. Just my 2 cents.
@@dolanpls3330 That's what I'm saying, man. Perhaps good karma can give 50% more coins or something, if you earn 100 coins, that's 150, with a double coin ticket that's 300. Earning 100 more coins per mvp game just by not being a jerk would be great.
As for your concerns, I get what you mean, but it's a combination of both no reason to keep good reputations and no punishments for not having good reputations. Even if your reputation is "bad" you can just play two or three games and go right back to the top and continue trolling. If a system that not only can aid fair players but also traps the trolls in purgatory, it would solve the game's biggest issue. The only people who oppose thos are either A, people who believe we can rehabilitate the trolls, which has proven to be inefficient, and people with the misconception that a karma system would imply that doing a single bad action would place you with those who have done it thousands of times, which would be the most stupid way to implement a feature like this.
@@dolanpls3330league has the same problem from what i remember (haven't played in a while so things may have changed but its unlikely), honor takes a long time to grind but you get very underwhelming rewards, essentially making good behaviour not worth it. companies aren't really interested in an adequate playing field as long as skins sell well
The biggest issue ive had this season is getting 1-2 players afk in rank almost every other game 😮💨
Either that or you got one teammate that is cussing the whole game and messing up the team chemistry before the big fights 😅

Straight up, I played 8 games the other night and 3 of my teams had afkers(not including the games we lose ray on so they gave up) mind blowing
Thinking it may be networking issues cause some games I get weird lag or random server connection loading during game. With a wired fiber connection mind you. Maybe influx of new players from christmas? 🤔
That is actually crazy you got paired with that trio. And with winrates like that you know they always trio together and on comms

Man i had a ton of matches where i look at my teammates that has a 48 or maybe 43 winrate and on the other side are pro players.. that matchmaking sucks..
If people lose a game and go into a bot match then they shouldn’t get points for it.
Those players dont know basic builds and plus they steal ur jungle if u go to help their lane
Also still in ultra, I get a 3-4 win streak, then everything goes south.After that a Bot Game, then the loop continues.

Yeah same for me. I think as the season goes on players graduate to masters and there isn’t such a wide range of skill levels lumped together trying to have a good match. I don’t mind bot games to be honest I take it as a compensation for the games where the teams were very unbalanced.
I haven't even gotten to 3, I've been stuck at 2 max. I am legitimately just considering auto-locking stuff like Dragapult and Mewtwo at this point

Pick a strong attacker/all rounder and go solo as a defender i struggle with master this season too but mimiQ was there to make things easy

Yeah it definitely has gotten worse since 3 seasons ago. Now with huge nerfs to OP pokemon it is even more noticable cause you can't hyper carry unless you buy something out of the gate which I refuse to do.

Honestly thank you Sprangles. It feels awful that Matchmaking is so bad right now, I honestly felt like I was just a horrible player now, but knowing even good players are struggling because of an issue I didn't know of, makes things feel slightly better

@@StephenChason-eu7he never said that wasn't an option, but considering I've been playing for over a year, have a roughly 60% average win rate, and done ranked matches regularly enough to have reached Masters 5 times already, I wouldn't automatically assume I suck, and if I did it probably would have shown itself sooner
I do not understand why they keep doing this. Everytime they do, The community notices, and *several* major creators point it out.
Do they just pray that this time the community won't notice, or do they actually think this type of system work?

It is quite confusing. You can look at the games and see how it’s stacked against you.
They're trying to punish everyone who doesn't succumb and submit to the meta. Like, abuse the most broken mon or get obliterated. Essentially, pay up and shut up, or quit.

For making sure you get properly matched. Matchmaking would take 2-3 min (if you are lucky). For a 10 min game, waiting time this huge creates a bad reputation among new players. That's why they don't take action against this.
@@arpit7392serious players should be willing to wait a couple more minutes for higher quality ranked games. If you can't do that you are a casual player and should just stick to quick matches and standard games.

Literally had the exact same season opener as you. Took me 80 games to hit masters when normally it’s 10-15. Felt frequently like I had 0-1 competent teammates and almost reminded me of when solos could queue into five stacks.

@@TheGostboy7 My friend you do the ray fight, 2 of your teammates go to score and die. The entire team except you dies. You somehow manage to defeat the other team in 1v many but you die in the process and get ray. Your entire team has the shield and no one of them goes to score with the shield. They grind, they zoom around the map etc. And you end up losing because of that.
That's half my games in ultra pretty much every season because of my MMR and the game constantly putting me in duos/trios, while giving me teammates with less than 100 games while the opponents have 3000+ games. How is that game easy exactly when you carry the game for 9 min just to have it thrown immediately the moment you die
As a quick aside, uniteapi displays the win rate for all match types (quick matches skew things heavily). When only looking at ranked, the numbers for the allies are 55, 51, 52, 49, and 48%. For the enemies, it’s 58, 57, 56, 52, and 52%. It’s actually a bit more bleak. Trios are a real problem and should only play with/against other trios and duos. And they should rework matchmaking; good players want to play against better opponents, not with worse teammates. This is coming from just an okay player, I feel like I don’t have an opportunity to improve since I either stomp (with good teammates), or get stomped.

the problem with matching only trios and duos together is that there needs to be a duo for every trio and vice versa, a different requirement could be better, maybe having the same amount of duos and trios per team???

Even this isn't really a good solution.
Suppose you're a solo player, your team is you, another solo player and a trio vs 2 solos and a trio.
You're pretty much still held hostage in a game that's more likely than not decided by which trio is better
Personally I think it should only be solo queue in a lobby of all solo, or 5 stack vs 5 stack in ranked. No in between allowed. Duos, trios and quartets can still play normals.
They want to leave you no choice but to abuse the most broken mon every single match or get destroyed. They've made the calculation that If they can punish the streamers for not caving in to the meta, they can make them look bad so that their criticism matters less. Meanwhile things stay unbalanced and they keep selling.
This season was pretty rough for me too. I can usually stay above 60% wr to masters, but I got in at the lowest I've ever gotten in at 53.5%. I know that's still positive, but it's just so drastically lower than usual.
Matchmaking this season is an absolute hell, I played game where all of my energy had an average of 3000 games and my teammates did not even had a thousand games one of my teammates had 97 games only 😮
Just got into masters but damn, matchmaking in unite nowadays is so luck based it makes finding a decent team more rarer than a shiny Pokemon

Glad I'm not the only one. I was literally questioning my skills as a unite player I was going insane and my mind is starting to buffer just playing ranked this season as what seems to be endless torture. Usually by now I would've hit masters if not sooner
I feel you completely, I’ve been solo-queuing this season and it feels horrendous. I’m barely winning games by clutching or carrying my team (I use Surf Blastoise with eject) and the enemy team is very skilled every game. My teammates are always bad, and with a competent enemy team that fights together and knows where to be at the right time, it’s very rage inducing to say the least. At least I feel I’ve been playing out of my mind, but after all the struggling I’m still in Ultra 😔
Switch mons bro. Blastoise doesn't carry games. I'd recommend Crustle(proceed with caution that one), Buzzwole, dragupult, hoopa or some more pokemon that could possibly carry games
@@jpraise6771 I think I’ll probably go to Crustle, just from experience my teammates usually always go 3 attackers, not like I want to defend them but if the occasion arises I can just unite move to tank a bit.

same is happening to me - I keep getting paired with absolute trolls doing 6k damage per game.
Spragels, Just a note to say it’s currently happening in SEA too. My husband who is the better player than me (we don’t play together btw) who is usually 60+ WR, started Season 17 at Ultra 3 went down and now still at Ultra 1 with 67 games and some 40+ WR almost same as your experience. We both started playing since Season 1 and have 6000+ games. I can’t say yet for myself as I have only played less than 20 games as I’ve already planned to take it easy this season for my mental and physical.

Ranked has been so rough this season. My ranked win rate is like 15% worse than last season and I've resorted to playing cinderace at times😭😭 also I'm in europe so I don't think this is just a north america thing idk??
Yeah, I’m not sure exactly who it’s affecting and why. I know two seasons ago it happened in Europe, because Cris and Bruv and such all got demoted to veteran.
I mean, playing cinderace won't help you at all. If anything, it will make things worse. If your win rate plunged below 50 and you're on the right in the mons choosing screen, you should play support or defense. At least until you hit higher master ranks, when you will have to carry

Im also stuck in Veteran where People from the opposing team stole our Rayquaza, there was this one time where they stole Regiice and Registeel 2x and to top it off Rayquaza with 10 HP LEFT!!, our team was coordinated until the The stealing happened. They should make it where The team with the highest damage gets it.
I’ve never related to this more in my entire life. This exact thing happened to me last season where I just could get anywhere because I would win three and then lose three and so on and so forth. But ya this season is super weird because I already got to master and it usually takes me like a week or two. But I somehow got there in a day so something is definitely up
Something had to have changed because last season all of my friends and I made it to masters really easy but this season we keep losing 2 and winning 2 so we're stuck in a limbo at ultra 5.
This season i got really lucky and was able to make it to masters quickly, yet it felt too quick. I’ve also been getting worse teammates in masters, got matched with an ultra rank leftovers espy. Before they had locked her in, they were about to use assault vest/leftovers talon.

At the end of the last season, I was actually winning a lot of battles, and I was excited for the next season since my favorite pokemon - sylveon got a buff. But now I'm stuck in ultra 4, unbalanced teams with everyone choosing attackers, all my teammates ignore the objectives (the regis), and I didn't know what the issue was. So glad you made a video on this!
That is absolutely right i am also stick in ultra.I am matched with the worst players who doesn't even defend and my opponents are golden badge,blue badge players my win rate also went low same like you Jake.This needs to be fixed
I can relate to this cause I have been losing a ton more games because of my teammates being bad or the other team being really really good

This season has been good for me, quite a few EX players but seeing this is pretty shocking. I was struggling I think a couple seasons ago but I thought maybe I was just bad. Hopefully draft makes the players better but this is disheartening.
Spragels I’m so sorry that you had to deal with this bro but this has been an issue in ranked now it’s worse. Literally bad teammates make me rage. Thank god this season is better than the usual, I get master every season but I definitely feel you. I’ve been playing consistently for 7 months and have adopted the “unite” mindset of being where I need to be and doing what I’m supposed to do to win or at least put my team in a position to win. There’s player who have been on this game much longer and have way more matches than I and STILL play like their in beginner rank. It’s atrocious and makes my blood boil because of you want to play like ass go to standard where that’s acceptable BUT don’t come to rank with the attitude or stubbornness that will make the team fail in the long run. People just be mad they don’t get their lane or Pokemon they want so the F the team over instead of adjusting and focusing on the W. I’d love to run a few matches with you just, I think it’ll be an awesome time.
this makes me feel much better because I have been experiencing the same thing. I dont like to complain and I like a challenge, but it is a noticeable change and it can be frustrating to lose even on my best picks when playing very well
Yeah I think they definitely are trying out different match making in different regions cuz around the same time people in EU like crisheros and toon were having a rough time climbing back into masters me and a few of my friends were struggling to get back into masters and we’re from OC but the last few seasons I’ve had a pretty good time climbing back for example the start of this season I got back into masters within 2 or 3 hours
Yeah it’s weird because I’ve experienced the exact same in other seasons.
So i mentioned this like a year and a half ago: they need to not only allow people to derank from masters, they need to remove duo and trio queue from solo and put them with the 5 stack queue. Make solo queue only for solo queue and split the ranking so you cant rank up in multiman queue then have the same rank in solo queue. This will force people to actually be good and climb in solo queue without being carried and increase the quality of players.
My time in unite this season has been horrible. The match making is horrible and unfair. The game is also a lot more laggy than usual. I'm so close to quitting and deleting the game because I'm so frustrated and it's no longer fun for me at all.
ive been wathcing your videos since 2 years ago, always wants to learn and eager to improve my skills in various roles and meta.. but as of today, i uninstalled the pokemon unite... i can't stand the poor matchmaking system so awful. for an example, i have been played 5879 match, 14 season streak to get into master rank, 5 seasons achieving more than 1600 master rank points, my achievemnts points are 2680, most of them are solo ranked matches, 15 green ribbons pokemons, 2 blue ribbons pokemon, before this season, i had 59,2% WR.. now my WR dropped to 58,7%.. my WR in Ranked Matches never drop below 50%.. now its dropped to 48,6% {40,2% WR this current season)... and now im stuck at Ultra, the reason why is because THEY ALWAYS MATCHES US WITH PLAYERS BELOW 1000 TOTAL MATCHES.. i even had few matches where 2 or 3 of my teammates total matches played just below 200 games... one match i had 4 attackers as my teammates and i played with Absol in that game.. one of them used Sp. Atk held Items for Decidueye, one of them just use 2 held items in their slots, and one of my teammates keep insisting to go to mid path for jungling.. all of my teammates ended up having below 40 OVR scores after the game.. i cried a little bit after that game.. because i can't stand matches like those anymore..
I was having this insue last season. I was losing so hard at a point that I didnt trying to win anymore. The games were so crazy unbalanced that my mental health started to get injured

I also have a lose streak in solo q in expert. My teammates wont do defenders or supporters, they have bad held item setups, etc.
Same here dude, I feel like I have to hard carry every game but it's not even enough, my mates never go to any objective 🤬🤬🤬

I ranked up to masters yesterday. Not sure if it’s better because I’ve only played a couple matches since, but before I ranked out of ultra it was absurdly bad. Been watching your streams and it’s been similar to those.

I experienced this a few seasons ago where for my first 100 games I was hard stuck in Ultra at about a 45% WR, the moment after the 100th game it completely flipped and I started winning at about 85% and continued winning at that rate until I reached 1600, where my WR finally settled to what it normally is about. I’ve never been able to explain it, just a very weird season.

Let me tell you a story. I’m in the EU and last season..I nearly gave up. I’m not kidding when I say I nearly had a solid 30 matches in a row that were duo/trio and of course I lost every single one of them. These terrible assholes tanked my wr and then I was stuck with a lot of people in the 40% wr…let me say they are there for a reason. This season is…questionable. Back up to 65/64% wr but I’m very concerned. I’ve been able to play what I’m good at a lot more than normal, had a zeraora match where I got 18 ko’s and uh..I think the next highest ko on my team was 2? Real people as well. I hardcore carried that match and I’ve noticed a lot of matches like this for me. Teammates so bad they let the enemy absol with 1 ko steal ray with a basic attack and lose us the match. So I’ve really got to do my best and be on point if I want to win. Made it to masters but it’s very stressful and I don’t think I’ll get my sticker.
last season felt this way too, have a barely positive winrate but keep getting matchups with a really strong enemy team
I think they do this to force you invite more people to play, because I've noticed something similar since the beginning of the season, I've been playing in soloQ and sometimes in duo, but when we play against a trio or even 4 together people they usually have a win rate of 55+% and members on our team less than 51% or just half the experience of the enemy team, greetings from Mexico
Brother I thought I was just insane, all my matches and I mostly play duos, we are paired with actually just new players or negative win rates vs really well put together and coordinated teams. We are actually going insane lmao
I am having the same issue, I can't get out of veteren but to be fair its my first ever season playing ranked, but I usually play standard with my sister and brother in law who are both masters. I made it to veteren but can't get out and when looking at the difference between teams its vast. I' ve had to print screen every single one as I just cant believe. I'll be in a team in veteren with 2-3 players with no games played against people who have played 1000's. Had so many games where theres 3 speedsters in the jungle that never leave. I mainly play defence but I've had to start using carry pokemon. No one goes for objectives and always seems like the other team are at objectives immediatley. As someone who has never played ranked before (I was jsut too busy until now) and only played standard but with 2 masters and I watch youtube about the game so have at elast knowledge about it, it makes me not want to even bother with ranked. Just to update I am in Europe.
Thank you Spragels for making this video and all of your content. My biggest criticism with this game is the matchmaking. It can ruin the entire experience. As others have mentioned, the players who grief, or don't how basic fundamentals of the game, are routine. The devs need a better system to match experienced, competitive players, who want to win, and not with casual inexperienced players.
This explains a lot. I feel so sorry that we are going through this. Hopefully they improve matchmaking soon.
Seasons have been like this for me for about 5 in a row. It's why I haven't played yet again this season. I've been away from it for about a month now. I don't care about losing, but I can't even play the game.
I had vacation this week and was actually able to grind a bit when the season first started.... As of yesterday I'm around 1375 solo with mostly support and defender..... It can be done ppl!! Keep grinding
Thank you for pointing this out! I thought this was only me. In a game out of 10 I hit 7-8 MVP but man it's terribly hard to carry "them" dude. Had a WR overall of 63 and I fell to 61 this season
Thanks for the update. My duo has been struggling with this, and I've been trying to tell my friend that something is wrong as it felt like the matchmaking was punishing us by pairing us against what feels like a fully coordinated squad. At the same time, we have teammates who don't realize the value of securing objectives.

It has been tough for me as well to get out of Ultra especially as a support main. Even if I try to debuff or cc the enemy, consistently heal my teammates, do rotations, support with exp share and even sacrificing myself so that they don't get caught in a cc train wreck, my efforts were not enough to win the game. I'm getting to the point of quitting this season as I have also experienced an increase in afks/rage quitters, backcapping, rushing, farmers (never in a team fight), regileki lovers, pingers, jungle thieves, stuck with duos & trios etc. I genuinely love supporting my teammates, but I can't simply follow them into jumping on an obvious cliff. This season has been rough and upsetting. Hence, I'm probably going to play less for the benefit of my mental health and just enjoy watching yours , CrisHeroes, Bruv and Moy's gameplays.
I currently have a 35.8% win rate. 40% or less winrate on each supporter that I play (so every supporter besides hoopa and sableye as I don't own them). But still, thanks for the fun gameplays spragels~ they cheer me up after losing a match~ much love from AU~ ❤

Im so glad this isnt just me. Last season i struggled reaching master as i felt like i was getting the most uncoordinated teams. This season ive just hit a massive loss streak and wondering if im playing poorly or if its the game
I always try to improve myself before blaming team members like most people do but this is the worst most toxic throwing season I have ever been in. Every match I have someone afk in base even if we are winning and they always spam thanks in base like their laner took last hit and triggered them or something. Having 3 junglers off the bat usually doesn’t help either😂

This season started off pretty rough since nobody wanted to play the important roles like defender, I was guilty of it too since im a Garchomp gamer. But after I started picking more filler roles playing goodra, tree, clef, vena, I got on a solid streak of 9 and cleared ultra into masters
I'm sitting at a 60.4% winrate right now, which recently is the lowest win rate I've had in 2 seasons. Since the other match making change. Now my problem has nothing to do with my winrate. But Something that I've found as a defender and support main is that I'm getting paired up with teammates that have less than 50 and even sometimes less than 40% winrates. How should it be that as a defender main that I should have to carry my attackers and speedsters to victory by the skin of my teeth with ray steals or tkos. I've been stuck in Ultra 1/ 2 for 2 days now because of this. They need to take into account games played, wr, longest win streak, average kos and average assists. And they need to ignore average scored because that's the only thing I can find in their stats that we have in common. Mine being 71 points per game this season and 54 overall across close to 4000 games. I'm sitting at 60% win rate rn, 52% overall and still have to out damage and out secure my opponents because my teammates are just downright terrible. I honestly might leave again like I did for Zacian if this keeps up. This is the longest it has taken me to get to masters rank in at least half a year. They need to fix this or no one is gonna have fun with the game. I know I started to get more annoyed at the game than my teammates.
Thank you for talking Spragels, I’ve had the same problem, getting matched with mates with either more than 3000 games but they do not know how to play or with beginners that have just downloaded the game. I win 2-3 games then it’s a lose streak and loop. By the way still the same in EU… 🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷
I super relate to this. Last season I flew through ultra, and this season I either obliterate the other team or we have someone afk, not grouping, feeding, etc. And we get destroyed. I haven't had more than a handful of even games where it was down to the end in a 50/50
I have noticed this for the past few seasons, but not every time I play. It feels like every time I fire up the game, I either get on the “good” matchmaking (where I’m matched with and against appropriately skilled players) or the “bad” matchmaking (where I’m either getting stomped or doing the stomping). It’s wild.
I have over 150 games since Monday the start of this season and I’m sitting at Ultra 5 still with a 42% win rate. FML. This really needs fixed because I can’t carry every expert and veteran rank to a win it’s exhausting.
Same! For some reason, ive been encountering more coordinated duos/trios from the enemy team and constantly getting stomped while solo queueing. Boy is the matchmaking God awful and frustrating.
I like having fun and sometimes going up against people who are way better than you can be really rewarding if you can learn a thing or two. It’s been helpful for me to have a positive and constructive outlook after each loss - I’ve been using my mic in games now and it adds a whole other level to gameplays and also making me try to stay positive 😅

You would expect as you perform better that you would be matched in higher level games with better quality teammates AND opponents. But that is not the case, you are now expected to carry worse players on your team as a result. And they literally get worse and worse the better you do.
I got to 1580 with a 61% win rate in solo queue last season and it took me 60 more games to hit 1600. It was the worst matchmaking I've had in the game, and just like everyone else I've had pretty bad.
The worst part is that of those 60 games about a quarter of them had an afk at some point, and NONE of them were successfully reported. That's just crazy to me.
Yeah I've noticed with this season and last season especially that reporting is basically useless. It almost never does anything and I don't know why the system doesn't catch these people.
This same exact thing has been happening to me this season so glad I’m not the only one 😂. Usually at Masters in a couple games but I’m stuck in Ultra.
I started playing unite when the game came out and have been consistently Master rank, I took a break after Zacian and came back around mimikyu and haven’t made master since… I’m not playing as much as I used to but I’m not ranking nearly as quickly
Oh man i feel this video so much after matches where my teammates fight over jungle, backcapping, spaming thank u the whole game or just being afk im so sick of it.. i dont know what they always do with the matchmaking but i can say there were only a few matches where we really had a chance of winning
Ohhh my godddd, RIGHT? I reached back up to Ultra Class 1 fairly quickly. Started having terrible games & I kept dropping and dropping.. Now back to Ultra 3 🤦🏼♀Im stuck between losing a star, and gaining it, then losing and gaining it back now. You know what I noticed in the terrible games? No teamwork!! They don't show up to objectives, they rush in and constantly feed in the lane or the jungler focuses on farming and sneaky scores instead of helping the team. I put my quick chats as "Let's fight as a team!" "Let's wait for our allies!" and "Avoid fighting the other team until leveling up!". I get that it's solo Q but do the people in Ultra just really not know how this game works?
Rn this season I've done 36 games and have a 52.7% WR.
Not just people in Ultra.. I feel that a lot of people just does not know how to play the game
thats true bro wth i thought it was only me but i swear to god i cannot rank up nowadays i KEEP getting over and over and over team mates that either quit or dont play at all and i physically can't rank up. Makes me feel way less crazy to hear it from you
i've started playing the game recently, have a bit more than 100 games and i'm not even ultra yet but i've been put up against masters, players with more than 3k games at least, while my team is filled with veterans like me, maybe one or two ultras here and there. honestly how am i even supposed to play like this
First off big respect for you showing your stats and that's why I play trios on ranked and I refuse to go solo on ranked.
love it when every member of the enemy team is equal to your level but your teammates definitely should not even pass for a drivers license let alone the written exam
Last season gave me so much trouble to get out of ultra. Managed to push my way back to 1,600 master but it was a chore. This season is already starting rough too, I was starting in ultra 3 but every match had several veteran players on my team. Also teams with 4-5 attackers happen so much now, having no chance at winning. Still stuck in ultra now, it's madness
I am EU and I didn't have these problems a few seasons ago but i am experiencing it now. Similar like you spragels, i have 62 matches with a 44% WR. Looked up my last 5 matches. I only had two players in all of these teams with a positive WR and opponents had not only trios but over 55% WR and +5000 matches on each person. Idk what is going on but I'll take a break for now. Its been like this for me too. All my games are with me in solo q and the enemies seem more willing to coordinate whereas my teammates are playing like expert players
The -exact- same thing is happening to me. Both this season and last season. HOWEVER, 3 seasons ago, I somehow didn’t lose a single game from Ultra 5 to Master. Of course, I was a returning player from taking a couple of years off. But I find it interesting that’s baked into their algorithm somehow. Maybe there are more factors that affect it.
I'm glad to see it's not just me. My games have been absolutely brutal this season.
My opponents always seem to be absolutely on point with securing contested farm and coordinating their attacks. My team not so much. I even had a game where our Blissey (who had called top lane) followed me into center at the start and proceeded to steal some of my jungle, delaying my evolution. A BLISSEY!
I know I kinda suck, but I wasn't prepared for how thoroughly boots got applied to my butt this season. Keep your chin up, Cowboy. We'll get through this somehow.
Idk man blissey usually uses exp share so it was actually helping you. If it didn’t have it then the player was trash
I literally uninstalled the game out of frustration, never had such a bad season. Match after match i get either a lane duo with greninja + cinder/gengar/delphox, or a match with a defender that decides to backcap at ray when the rest of the team is fighting.
I need a break from this game, it is just unplayable rn 😢
It would be my second full season of unite. I managed in the last season to get to Master 1497. But then I struggled and fell back to 1440. But that was okay. I still have to learn things. What I think is totally annoying is this season. Like enemie team is having at least ten more Master wins then our team. We barely have someone that managed to win more than 2 times. And they exceed in their experience and outplay us easily. They play like a five stack while we are like blind chicken. And that throws me off. I am about to uninstall. I have been watching Meta, learning timers etc. But at the end it is rubbish. And if mmr isn't looking for balanced fights, why bother fighting? That is not the way to keep new players interested. This has been happening to me for the last 4 seasons. Most of my matches are exactly like that Talonflame match you had. I constantly have many negative WR players in my team, a lot of the times I'm the only positive WR in my team, while the enemy has only positive WRs. When I do have some positive WRs in my team, most of the time they have a few hundreds of games at most, while the enemy almost always has thousands. And I'm not really that good, my WR overall in ranked is 52.5%. I don't know what the heck TiMi is doing.
I pushed to 1800 solo last season, usually an easy climb to masters. This time around, I managed to have a record 10 straight losses with just mind boggling teammates and I’ve been unbelievably frustrated
Bro I feel you going through a SOLID hour of loosing straight one day. Then the lil notifications pop up like ""let's try to win a game today " and I wanna throw my controller. Unbelievable matchmaking. Paired with players who either never even been to masters or who have so much fewer games. This season is insanely bad.
Some season beginnings I get mostly competent teammates, some like this one, I get only teammates with below 48% win rates or new players. I’ve never struggled as hard as I have this season to hit Master.
Players who invade their own central area because they're made another teammate picked it first... seeing a lot of this now and it basically demolishes the whole laning phase. So frustrating.

I lost a few games at the start of the season and was at a 16% win rate. Then somehow managed to win 10 games in a row one late night and got to ultra 2. But since then, its been hell. I almost never get good players since and i keep losing. Almost back to ultra 4 with little motivation to play :(
Game feels atrocious right now, constantly getting really weird matchups where either my team or the other team is incredibly inbalanced

I had this issue last season stock on ultra rank for most of the season but this time I got lucky and move to master quick
What you showed in the beginning has been happening to me for the last few seasons all season long it doesn't stop if I get master , I keep getting these guys all the way till master 2000 and that's the highest I go to, my team's make up usually looks like 2 guys with 300 games who have no ide what they are supposed to do and mostly one of those marks jungle with a dece or a cinder or a goal getter ninja, then 2 people with 3000 or 2000 games but with absurdly bad winrates somewhere in the 44 percent and 47 percent range and the other team can consist of try hard trios playing umbreon mimikyu and stuff, I my self have almost 7k games with a win rate that keeps bouncing between 57 and 58 so I am in no means a god at the game but man it gets rough , I have stopped looking at the player profiles to prevent myself from tilting too much but it will keep happening , I heard it somewhere that it is the matchmaking trying to get your winrate to 50 percent and once you are at 50 percent on the dot winrate you will have truly fair games which is ugh but evidently true, it's like the game punishes a good solo q player because they are good , like hey you are too good you shouldn't be this good tone yourself down , dumb yourself down to 50 percent winrate and we can talk about you having good teammates

one of thte major reasons i stopped playing overwatch all together. wasn't really a point to me to keep playing if i didn't like ranked, and sure enough ranked was this bad in that game too with its matchmaking. also not to mention forced wins/losses bs that im just sick of.
I did the same thing, had a game that I single handedly dominated with Dragapult, something like 19 KOs, we had a solid lead, like a 3 pad lead, my team jumps into the pit, flips Ray, loses it, gets KOd, so I get KOd because it takes like 3 hits, and by time I'm topside again, we lost all 4 goals and the scored in our main and we lost.
I look up the WRs, and the average win rate across my team is like 49%,the other team is like 56%. And I'm just stunned.
I had a player back cap in the main goal, because we were up 3 or 4 pads and that is all that was left. I'll let you fill in the blanks, but it I evolves getting stomped at Ray and losing.

yeah dude it’s been crazy. i keep getting trios and double duo q’s w all damage dealers no expshare, along w losing streaks due to players w less than 800 wins going afk when they give up. extremely annoying.
